  • this, platoon, saving private ryan best war movies

  • BEST SPEECH EVER BEST SPEECH EVER

  • Such a shame. This scene and the ending are the only major flaws in an otherwise very powerful war drama. Great score, beautiful cinematography, intense acting and the signature bloody De Palmian set pieces make this one of his very best.

  • @OSTube1 This Is A Flawless Scene A Great Scene In Every Aspect

  • @saccyind I disagree. I think it is completely random/unrealistic (bordering on the ridiculous), overly convenient in a way so that MJF can do his moralistic little speech, and it also doesn't fit in harmonically with the dramatic arch of the narrative.

  • @OSTube1 you suck man! the speech is beautiful and some of Michael's best acting is in the movies i LOVE it!

  • @MJFoxlover Let's see: 1. an insult and 2. an opinion with no base whatsoever.. I think you have disqualified yourself enough.

  • This film is so badly acted,i couldn't take it seriously.Penn with the worst brooklyn accent ever put on film, and constantly over emoting. And this scene?Cmon, how can you not laugh? These comments are bizarre. The acting in Platoon isn't even this bad.And that's saying something.Full Metal Jacket just gets better and better as the years go on.Its 80's peers have not aged well AT ALL!

  • That speech spells 'Oscar nod.'

  • guns n´roses baby

  • Of all of the Vietnam movies released in the 1980's this one, the last one to be released never gained the recognition like the Platoon and The Thin Red Line etc.... However, in retrospect this was the best one of all. I think DePalma will be recognized for his work as time passes by. Fox's speech here was indeed one of the best if not the best one to sum up the meaning behind all of the Vietnam related movies message: What you do day to day does matter much more than we could ever think of...

  • @racosta1968 the thin red line was wwii...

  • @derekjtg I was about to correct him when I noticed you already had, good catch.
