A great round-up and introduction to the subject of solitary bees. Making artificial habitats for Mason Bees is soo easy, and with a bit of habitat help my population has gone from 20 to 120 in three years. Hoping for lots of fruit this spring.
And so it is Mr Solitarybee. I have interest in my rough old Giant hogweed tubes, with mud I placed int the back end, as would the female bee do for herself. Problem was I had to move them around as I had run out of hogweed suitable, so the tubes were not tight in the box. I just hope that the bee which was using one of them, didn't give up trying to find her cell.
