  • Hey i have heard many beatuiful sounds come from a republic tricone, but i am still wondering if you or somebody from republic guitars could do a demo of the Republic Clarksdale Special, It is a beautiful guitar but no one has demo'ed it i cant find anything on it! :( btw beautiful sounds from your style of playing, it really brings me back..

  • @johnnydobroboy Thank you for your comment and suggestion. I would recommend contacting Frank at Republic Guitars. I don't own a Clarksdale Special, but possibly another of his representatives does and may be able to direct you to a video demo. Enjoy.

  • @KeniLeeBurgess Thank you very much sir I will take your advice from what i hear Frank is a nice guy who could get the job done, thank you again and keep up the great work

  • @johnnydobroboy My pleasure. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Enjoy.

  • Are those Alaska finger picks you're using? I've skipped over that brand because I was nervous about them. How do you like them, if that's what they are?

  • @chrishpippin Thank you for your interest and question. No, these are not Alaska finger picks. They are the standard plastic finger picks that are commomly available. Plastic picks tend to have longer blades, making digging into the strings easier. They also fit tighter and don't slip off like metal picks. Although for comfort, I wear standard National style banjo picks too. Enjoy your practice.

  • I have been learning from your CD1 for 6 and CD5 for 4 string and coming along. Ive been

play many other things aswell piano, and some other guitars, stratocaster,

  • @alphasxsignal Thank you for your comment and purchases. Glad to hear you are finding the lessons helpful. Enjoy your practice.

  • What tuning are you in on this song.

  • @alphasxsignal Thank you for your interest and question. I am using Vestapol Tuning aka Open D (DADf#ad) low to high. Although, I am tuned down a whole step to the key of C (CGCegc). If you are interested in learning this style, please check out my instructional video CD 1 on ebay by searching: keni lee On this CD, I teach songs in this tuning and also explain how to create your own renditions of songs. Enjoy

  • Do you have a pickup installed in yours. I don't see it on top like the one

I have on mine. Maybe you put one inside or just using a mic on it.

The one that they put one isn't bad but not that sensitive. I might look around

and see what other types I could put on there.

  • @alphasxsignal Thank you for your interest and question. I have no pick up installed. I play mainly acoustically. If I need sound reenforcement, I use a mic and amp. Enjoy.

  • Great song and now I have a Republic likes your too and love it.

  • Great playing. Looks like I have to buy me one of those. Looks fun to play.

I would have playing it through my Boss RC-50 looper.

  • @alphasxsignal Thank you for your comment. Yes, please check out the republicguitars website. Frank offers a good quality resonator guitar at a very reasonable price. Please feel free to write if you have any questions. Enjoy.

  • I appreciate you doing this song. My grandpa used to play this song when i was a kid growing up.

  • @lunchboxmcghee Thank you for sharing your comment. Enjoy.

  • I enjoy your old ragtime songs, where do you get these old songs from?

  • @zed0469 Thank you for your comment. If you google, phrases like, delta blues, 1930 blues, country blues, or ragtime blues, you are bound to find my artists and songs. Youtube is an excellent resource too. Enjoy.

  • hey man i just wanted to tell you youre a huge influence on my slide playing.

  • @alexdeciccoFBI Thank you for your comment. As a teacher, it is always rewarding to be told that my lessons and performances are inspiring other players. I greatly appreciate that you took the time and shared your thoughts with me. Enjoy your practice.

  • sounds so cool, ive been after a steel resonator guitar for years after seeing Kent Duchaine play in the pub i worked in but never been able to afford a good one. Cheers Keni

  • @FlatfootJohnny Thank you for your comment. Ya, you can't beat that resonator sound. "The Power Without the Plug" Thats what nice about Rebublic guitars, "Good quality at an affordable price. Enjoy.

  • @nycoshouse Thank you for your comment. Yes, the Tricone with it's three small cones delivers a nice balanced sound from bass to treble. Enjoy.

  • Great sounding song Keni.

I bought myself a Republic style 'O' knockoff for Christmas. Can't be beat for the price

I keep it in open D and I'm having a blast.

I'm going to watch this video a few more times and see if I can do it like you do

  • @yopatao Thank you for your comment. Yes, I have to agree with you. A Republic guitar gives you great price, tone, and playability. Enjoy your practice.

  • @bigdaddysmojo Thank you Darren for your comment. Enjoy.

  • Excellent playing as always.

  • @BaronK69 Thank you for taking the time to comment. Greatly appreciated. Enjoy.

  • Thanks for the inspiration, great playing

  • @srv62strat Thank you for.your comment. You know, actually I am left handed, but when I was a teenager I would play around with my cousin's right handed guitar (who is left handed too LOL). I often thought having my more dexterous hand (left) fretting the notes makes more sense to me than the other way around. Who knew?

  • @KeniLeeBurgess hey Keni, similar story with me. I went for my 1st guitar lessons in 3rd grade and was taught for 6 months or so before the instructor realized I was left handed. What I stillcant believe is my parents didnt think anything of it. I always looked at it more as an excuse for not being good at fingerpicking! I guess some people are glass half full, some glass half empty!

  • @JamieOue Well, actually my story goes back to grammer school too, where my Mother had a teacher meeting because I could not cut with a pair of scissors. It was then they figured out that I was left handed. Back in the day In China when they used a brush to do calligraphy, no one could be left handed because all the stroke would be backward. In the whole world it ain't easy being a left handed Devil. LOL Enjoy.

  • @KeniLeeBurgess LOL yes we're all kind of sinister. I do enjoy your playing and I enjoy mu Republics as well.

  • @JamieOue I definitely enjoy my Republics too. Great bang for the buck! Enjoy.

  • Way to work that old stew bone KeniLee!

  • @woodcutter610328 Thank you. Randy from mojoboneworks on cigarboxnation made it for me. I always wanted one after see Roy Bookbinder performing with one. Enjoy.

  • nice, can you give a lesson on it

  • @talc89a Possibly in the future, but right now I got too many irons in the fire LOL. I would encourage you to understand my intention is to simply teach others to create their own arrangements too. CD 1 offers great foundational material. Combined with the clearification the facebook discussions offers, you will be off on your own in no time. Thank you for your interest and consideration. Enjoy.

  • @KeniLeeBurgess its ok, because i just learned it

  • @talc89a Wonderful! Please post a video. I would enjoy seeing it. Enjoy

  • @KeniLeeBurgess forgot to mention, i used my ear, i find it is easier to learn by ear than by tab. Thanks

  • @talc89a Thank you for your response. Don't feel obligated to purchase my CDs. I post this information to help people who are interested learn to play. I appreciate the generosity of those who do purchase my music CD and instructional video CDs because it makes it possible for me to continue this work. Supporting me, helps not only me, but you and everyone else too. Enjoy your practice.

  • Thank you for your comment. I am sorry, but currently I have no tab available for this arrangement. I am quite sure if you work through the lessons on my instructional video CD 1, you will have all the mechanical skills necessary to play this song. Additionally, on my facebook page (Keni Lee Burgess) we have been discussing the Major scale. Almost all of the note played in this song come out of the Major scale. I am offering this rendition as an example of applied practical music theory.

  • is that a new guitar

  • @HondaSuperSport1100 No, I had this model for quite awhile now. I am in the process of filming a series of Republic guitar demonstrations showcasing each model I own, so viewers can get an idea of the differences. Tricone, Duolian, Parlor, Highway 61, and Tenor. Also to go along with the discussion on my facebook group page, these videos wil offer supplimentary ideas to complement my instructional videos CDs. Thanks for your question. Enjoy.

  • Brilliant version!

  • @watchinshadows Thank you for your comment. Enjoy.
