I have this big thing that I keep thinking of when I think SEALs. And that is that I can't swim. I've never learned to swim and I feel like if I were to try going SEALs I would get messed up from not having enough swimming experience. Though I have absolute and full respect of American forces (Bless you for risking your lives for us), one cannot deny the sheer amount of funds that the United States dedicates to arming its military with top of the line weapons and other equipment. Other nations do not have such a vast source of income for its troops, and this creates a gap which makes the US military seem far superior - and they are, but it makes you question: Is it the troop him/herself? Or the equipment as well?
All of you are amateurs, who cares whose better? When was the last time you saw a SEAL Platoon matched against a squad of SAS? Keep arguing while the real operators are the guys out there training to be, or actually in the fight. You guys are keyboard warriors.

I'm not one of those Americans who only says America rocks and everyone else sucks. I respect a lot of other countries and some that are even hated. Not north Korea or China of course because they aren't exactly the friendly type but im just saying i respect the SEAL's the most and i still haven't heard about any other Special Forces having the hardest military training in the world whereas i have heard that with the SEAL's.
SEALs have very harsh military training indeed, but there are lots of other good operators out there in the rest of the world. Watch for instance 'NZSAS: first among equals'.

Great video. I was lucky to make two deployments to Unit TWO as a Boat Guy. One to Scotland and one to Germany. Scotland way better. Steve and I were room mates for a year or so. And nowhere does it say in Beckwith's "Delta Force" that the SAS trained their men. The SAS, as I said before sent a few advisers to the first OTC, as did many foreign and US units (mostly experience from Vietnam). As for SBS missions being more difficult than what SEALs had to deal with, I challenge you to say that to any Vietnam veteran SEAL. The Brits aren't the only ones with the experience and the know-how, get over it.
Beckwith describes his exchange with the SAS in 1960, returns home in 61 to try and make a similar unit at home. In 1977 he creates 1st SFOD-D, and describes the first OTC in which a few SAS advisers, along with advisers from other countries (France, Germany, Israel) and the US itself. So no, the SAS did not get the sole responsibility of training the unit.
Well that goes without saying. Any operator with half a brain will tell you that. Doesn't go to say other units aren't elite in their own right. The bottom line is don't fuck with the SAS in Britain, and in the US don't fuck with SF, Rangers, SEALs, STT, or anything like that mate.
Remember the original WW2 US Rangers & Special Forces were trained by British Commandos. Original Delta Force (Charlie Beckwith) were trained by the SAS. Ex SEAL Richard Marchinko in his first book constantly bigged up his SEALS and UDTs, but admitted the Royal Marine SBS missions & exercises were much harder and brutal than anything they ever did. The Brits pioneered most of what the West has to offer. Embassy seige. Large countries ie USA,India,China etc are reliant on technology & manpower.
Beckwith created Delta in 77. He had served with the SAS in 1960, before the US had any real SOF unit with DA capabilities (since WW2). It took him 16 years and the vietnam war to convince the US military to create Delta. Into the unit went a lot of insight and training advisers from both US and foreign units. Much of the experience and insight was from MACV-SOG, which was an American SF unit in Vietnam that undertook the most difficult and dangerous ops in history.
again, ww2 us special forces were devils brigade, and OSS and UDTs. none of which were trained by british. rangers were, but no one else. besides, the SAS is trained by the SAS as well......
based on doesnt mean trained by dick head. still, UDT and devils brigade...NOT trained by british. "USA got thier asses whipped again" when did we before that, and we didnt exactly get our asses kicked....we won the fighting, but the poloticians made it impossible to win, just like they are starting to do with the war on terror.
actually british SAS is only one of many of the sas in the world. australia has an SAS, so do the british and so does new zealand. they are only the ones i am sure about though.

As the british say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so one does need a war to see how one is doing, and it is impossible to compare all military training in the world based on content alone. There are many ways to train a soldier, but far fewer ways to create a warrior.
Military experts doesn't mean a thing. As far as I know the jungle training given in Guyana is much harder than what I have seen the seals go through. You can't even compare !!!

Not north Korea or China of course because they aren't exactly the friendly type but im just saying i respect the SEAL's the most and i still haven't heard about any other Special Forces having the hardest military training in the world whereas i have heard that with the SEAL's.

SEALs have very harsh military training indeed, but there are lots of other good operators out there in the rest of the world. Watch for instance 'NZSAS: first among equals'.
But of course it's no crime to think your own country has the best and the hardest soldiers in the world. ;)

Ummm.... US forces in the 20th century have consistently proven that they are fallible, and capable of being sent packing by ill-trained, ill-equipped rebels. In terms of success rate per deployment, Israeli special forces, the south african military, and the Australian SAS are FAR FAR superior. The US army is simply big, with lots of expensive toys.

Great video. I was lucky to make two deployments to Unit TWO as a Boat Guy. One to Scotland and one to Germany. Scotland way better. Steve and I were room mates for a year or so. I used to joke with him about growing into his nick name. Still good friends with allot of the bad boys of Bravo. Thanks, Birdawg

And nowhere does it say in Beckwith's "Delta Force" that the SAS trained their men. The SAS, as I said before sent a few advisers to the first OTC, as did many foreign and US units (mostly experience from Vietnam). As for SBS missions being more difficult than what SEALs had to deal with, I challenge you to say that to any Vietnam veteran SEAL. The Brits aren't the only ones with the experience and the know-how, get over it.

Beckwith describes his exchange with the SAS in 1960, returns home in 61 to try and make a similar unit at home. In 1977 he creates 1st SFOD-D, and describes the first OTC in which a few SAS advisers, along with advisers from other countries (France, Germany, Israel) and the US itself. So no, the SAS did not get the sole responsibility of training the unit.

Well that goes without saying. Any operator with half a brain will tell you that. Doesn't go to say other units aren't elite in their own right. The bottom line is don't fuck with the SAS in Britain, and in the US don't fuck with SF, Rangers, SEALs, STT, or anything like that mate.

Remember the original WW2 US Rangers & Special Forces were trained by British Commandos. Original Delta Force (Charlie Beckwith) were trained by the SAS. Ex SEAL Richard Marchinko in his first book constantly bigged up his SEALS and UDTs, but admitted the Royal Marine SBS missions & exercises were much harder and brutal than anything they ever did. The Brits pioneered most of what the West has to offer. Embassy seige. Large countries ie USA,India,China etc are reliant on technology & manpower.

Beckwith created Delta in 77. He had served with the SAS in 1960, before the US had any real SOF unit with DA capabilities (since WW2). It took him 16 years and the vietnam war to convince the US military to create Delta. Into the unit went a lot of insight and training advisers from both US and foreign units. Much of the experience and insight was from MACV-SOG, which was an American SF unit in Vietnam that undertook the most difficult and dangerous ops in history.

How is it that video's like this produce so much "who's better than who" - comments, mostly by outsiders? As the british say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so one does need a war to see how one is doing, and it is impossible to compare all military training in the world based on content alone. There are many ways to train a soldier, but far fewer ways to create a warrior.
