nice to know what normal lungs look like. i have a sternum deformity that prevents my lungs from fully filling up and one lung only works half way, do to a dead spot in it. its from being born a little over 3 months early. my late twin brothe wasn't as lucky as i and his body was donated to science.

But i think, naturally, the lungs are "connected" with the ribs, there´s "adhesion", so by moving the chest and the diaphragm, the lungs will inflate.

@Starvalleybotany They don't deflate that much because the thoracic cavity is breeched allowing air in which means the diaphragm is not even moving.. normally the difference in volume is displaced by the distention of the abdomen because that cavity is sealed shut.. so the lungs don't really inflate that much unless someone like ... stabs you in the chest allowing air to get in..

They can get close but it will never be quite right and they are learning to be vets so they need to see the real thing. Besides it died of natural causes.
