AND WHY LEARN LATIN???? I have been arguing with a soccer pal who wants to become a teacher of Latin!!! I told him not to waste his pupils' time with Latin because English is the language of this world and no foreigners become real new potential conversation partners. 2nd foreign languages as an obligatory subject should be abolished and boycotted, but Marvin wants to wreck the nerves of his future pupils, shame on him!!!!

@Akiva2212 actually if you see the history it belongs to the canaanites and then it was taken over by the israelites. then during the jewish diaspora under the roman empire, the jewish were forced to leave the land of israel and only then after was it occupied by the palestinian. and even during those times, the palestinian arab was not a nation state but was under the government of neighboring arab states. it only become a state after the neighboring arab states saw israel become a government.
This is like forced learning of fnninish and swedish in Finland. Why Swedish people don' thave to learn finnish too in Sweden?? Same same, but different!!
How about making both Arabic and Hebrew compulsory in Israeli schools? In that way both Jews and Arabs can understand each other, can settle their differences and coexistence simply by their ability to interact with one another with improved communication skills between two groups.
it isnt compulsory but almost every school if not all the shools in israel (jewish school) has arabic as an option to learn in school for foreign language

As terrible and abusive israel's government is in the occupied territory; The beauty Israel is that it is still a democracy. So the People of israel who are creative get to come up ith good idieas to reduce hate and increase tolorance. just beautiful :)
arabic language has always learned in israel schools,.. and 99% of israel-arabs speak perfect hebrew ... some of them join the army and work with me of other places

If you want peace... Prepare for war... Some people you just can't change, you can't accept their views and they can't accept yours, you talk all you "Oh peace and love! Yay lets all be friends!" But you have never been face to face with someone that lives a life the opposite of yours and sits there and tells you "Your God is a lie" Or something of that sort. I would LOVE to be at peace with everyone, I wish we could all be friends, but it wont happen, and you can't understand it so shut up.
I think this is a great idea! Especially that it is in the spoken language. I think they should have this in every school in every country. Arabic is so much fun. This is only a known fact by people who study it.
