Eehhh ill keep my 96 f2 with a real motor and im sorry blown454 but as a trucker i can wheelbarrow anything faster than a cummapart would get it there
See... for everyone that ownesa v10 as mysellf... a v10 has more torque and more horse power than a cummins. . it has a higher towing rate than the cummins.. . they both have the same transmition same drive line even the same wiring harnes. so for everyone that says cummins is better you might want to do a little reasearch and not open your mouths so fast! i have a 2003 Dodge 2500 8.0L with a 6inch lift with 35x12.5r17 ta and i would put it against a diesel any day and out pull one anyday!
@xXxBroncoBoggerxXx The cummins is a much better engine. A diesel will always out tow a gas truck because of low end torque, Stock they have low power numbers but they are so stupidly easy to make big power out of. How many stock looking diesels are there on youtube running 10s, 11s, and 12 second quarter miles? A lot. How many V10 trucks? I cant find one. No, your v10 would not outpull any diesel sorry. It might accelerate faster than a stock diesel but thats it.
@BLWN454 i own a 2000 2500 cummins flatbed 4 inch from the turbo into a 5 inch tip. my old v10 would rape this pickup in pulling power torque or whatever you wanted to say. im not sayin one is better just the v10 is a extremely stout engine that is compotion to ANY pickup. ya it sucks on fuel but thats what a v10 is
Nice exhaust, few questions if you don't mind ? Will this cause any service engine light to come on? Will it cause any damage to any part of the vehicle by removing the exhaust? I've been wanting to do the same to my truck, but too scared too. I have a f250 v10 as well and I live i'n ca.
If i had a triton v10 in a ford truck id go around the truck and scrape all the v10 badges off, that way people would not look down at me as much, those v10 are nothing special.
i have to disagree with you adrenalinemanianc i have personally watch a v10 ford pull at a normal truck pull and it stayed right there with all the diesels it was at the top
At the truck pulls I've been to, the deciding factor had always been traction and not having the drivetrain blow up. In the end, there's always more than enough power, just not enough traction.
LOL, yup! my '99 5.4 F-250 is the same way. 11-12 mpg. empty, windows up, and no A/C or grossin' 11,000lbs, windows down, and full A/C, it's all the same. although i did get it up to 13.5 while empty on the daily work commute when i was really pussy-footing it. now i have a '95 bonneville (24 mpg) for the daily commute and save the truck for the mud and snow.
Your an ignorant fool...I hate when people think the word modular in the name makes every ford engine shit...most people don't have a clue why it's called a modular v8 or v10, there called modular because they're manufactured in such a way, not because the engines themselves are modular.
The Modular motor from ford is the best engine in the world. Thus every cab, limo, cop car, ect. . . is a crown vic. Not for there great looks, or price, but for the bullet proof motor.
I agree with you a lot that they are great motors....not bullet proof tho. I blew up 2 cylinders in my ford lightning with the modular motor...cold air intake and an exhaust was all I had done. I sold that truck and got an f250 with the 5.4 tho! Still love fords!
i've never had problems with mine and i rod the shit outta it your probably thinking of the dodge v10 them were real bad
the only reason you said that was to make you feel like you know what your talkin about you've prolly never worked on one and you prolly just saw someone else on youtube say something about it so you thought u'd seem cool knowin what your talkin about well ur an idiot

I'd have to agree with you. I've got a 99 V10 and it has the piss poor NPI heads. The later years PI heads are supposed to be ALOT better though. Dyno results shows about a 50 rwhp gain with the PI heads (Performance Improved). I want that TSB link btw
They suck so much, they did not take a bail out. And there the number one selling American made car. And the F150 is the best selling truck. And the crown vic/town car is used by the most police, cab, limo fleets in the country. And there ECT . . . .
the old V10 dode rams could out pull a cummins the V10's had what something like 400hp and 500 ft lbs of torque? where the older cummins had 300hp and 450 ft lbs.
Although I would much rather have the diesel for a daily-driver, I have always wanted one with the V10 just for a project. I could imagine it would sound like a high-dollar sports car with a nice set of Basani or Tubi exhaust.
you are truly retarded aren't you? any diesel from the factory in a pickup is making double the torque of any gas in a pickup..... a diesel has so much more power especially to pull...or else semi trucks would all be gas..
ok diesels have more torque straight outta the factory tho the v10's had more raw horsepower they are both great engines dad has a 7.3 chipped and i have a v10 they are both great engines and they both have their place for pissin around in mud the v10 is a bit better, it's lighter weight but for pullin u can't beat a diesel
Horse power is the bottom line. If you have more HP, you can tow more faster. More torque lets you keep the engine at lower RPMs, increasing reliability and decreasing fuel consumption. A 400HP Turbocharged 2L 4 cylinder gas engine with the right gearing, will pull just as much as a 400HP 9L Diesel
that is not true...torque is the ability to move weight hourse power is the ability to get things going fast...there is a difference diesels make just as much hp as gas engines these days and easily double the torque..if your insane theory was true i guess the engineers at big company's like peter built and caterpillar and stuff dont know what there doing then...you must know better right?
Diesels make the same horsepower, double the torque, at a third the RPM. That is the key right there. HP = RPM x Torque / 5252. If you have a 400HP Turbo 4 cylinder, that makes that power at 6000 RPM, thats 350 ft-lbs of torque. Put a 3:1 gear reduction, now you have 1050 ft-lbs @ 2000 RPM, and STILL 400HP. I stand by what I said, a gas engine with the right gearing, will pull the same as a diesel with the same horse power. Horsepower is what matters.
yeah but what happens if you go driving down the road at 6000 rpm in your turbo 4 cylinder.....your efficiency and mileage both drop dramatically because of your gear reduction the engine has to compensate to rev way more to match the same output speed..its just better to have to have low end grunt where it doesnt have to try hard even to turn a lot of weight with taller gears..its like a little kid can lift a lot of weigh if he uses pullies just have an adult lift it when he can effortlessly
Horsepower is NOT the bottom line! Horsepower is the measurement used to measure the power before its gone thru the engine, and is equal 2 the amount of force needed 2 lift 550 pounds of weight 1 ft off the ground in 1 sec. Torque is after it has gone thru the engine, and is what matters because its a measure of the twisting motion of the crankshaft. Horsepower is basically the power before its put through the engine. Torque is whats important. What FORDGTFANATIC said, in many words, is correct.
Horsepower means everthing. You can get around a lack of torque with high HP with good gearing. You can't get around tons of torque, but no HP. The higher HP vehicle (with the proper gearing to match the engine) will always outpull the higher torque motor.
no it wont....are you really trying to tell me that my old 5.4l gas half ton will outpull my 7.3l diesel 1 ton, you my friend are what we like to call a retard
either way your argument is stupid, gearing has nothing to do with the engine, a toyota with a 5.29 gear ratio could outpull my truck with a 2:1 gear ratio but only be able to go like 5mph, but horsepower means nothing, the higher torque motor will always win in towing, bringing in the fact about gearing is stupid and has nothing to do with the engine
haha no it wont, the max towing capacity of the gas engines used as examples here are way lower that my diesel engine, you cant just sit at redline on the highway if you cant even get the load to start to move in the first place
I know you can't, but HP is everything. HP = RPM*Torque/5252, that means for any given HP, you can gear it down to have as much torque as say a diesel with the same HP, but more torque. If you let that gasser rev to the redline, it would outpull the Diesel.
You guys are all missing the most important reason diesels are excellent pullers... torque curve. John Force's 5000 hp funny car engine would not be a good towing mill, as it needs to rev to stratospheric rpm's before it smooths out and makes it's torque. My Cummins operates @ maximum efficiency around 1800 rpms. Keep in mind, when you tow, you are not hooking onto a trailer while traveling at highway speed.... at some point, you have to move that load from idle.
You are a moron, look at the equation, HP=RPM x Torque / 5252. If you have 2.0 4cyl 200HP @ 7000 RPM, it makes 150 ft-lbs. Put a 3:1 reduction on it, and its making that same 200HP, but now at 2333RPM, and because of the reduced RPM, torque output has now increase to 450 ft-lbs. The engine is still spinning away at 7k, but the output shaft is not. Why don't you go back to 9th grade science and get back to me.
even if that was true, which it isnt, it doesnt matter, when would you ever see a gas engine with gearing like that and was able to tow? no where, but engine torque doesnt change with gearing, you just cycle through gears quicker and you are able to get in and stay in the powerband quicker, it doesnt change the output
nor will the explorer rev hi enough to compensate for the hi gearing...if it did it couldnt do it very long and stay reliable...why is this even a fucking arguement DIESELS ARE FOR PULLING YOU CAN GET AROUND IT WITH GEARING IN A GAS YES BUT YOU CANT HAVE IT BE RELIABLE AS A DIESEL NOR HAVE THE TRUE WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT DIESEL GRUNT
@amfan12 yeah it would have to rev to 20k to do 70 goin up a hill like a diesel would. hp is not the bottom line .... hp is a # the come from torque vs acceloration... and if u had a 2l maken 400hp its not gona last 500000 miles like a diesel would...hp sell a engine torque wins races
And to FORDGTFANATIC, "any diesel from the factory in a pickup is making double the torque of any gas in a pickup", how do you figue that? A Dodge v10, Ford v10, and GM 8.1 liter all made somewhere in the neighborhood of 450 lb. ft. of torque..... where are their 900 lb. ft. diesels. In fact, I believe when the Dodge v10 was introduced, it bested the Cummins by 30-40 lb. ft., how would you explain that? It's all about torque curve and volumetric efficiency, my friend.
diesels make double the torque that there hp..take my dmax, stock its rated at 310hp and 650ft lbs or so any 4 cylinder is gonna be a smaller number of torque...i bet if you hooked my duramax up to any v10 id spin that peice of shit backwords faster then you can blink. on another note how many gas engines can gain Additional 300HP and 460Ft.-lbs of Torque with the press of a button from a programmer? its called ppe hot+2 that means 610hp 1020ft-lbs V10 WHAT???
Did I, at any point dispute a diesels ability to more efficiently tow? Dude, I drive and tow with a 2001 Cummins! It pulls great..... I was responding to your statement that diesels all make double the torque output of any gas engine... that is all. Of course a diesel is better for towing, it has a much flatter torque curve and makes that torque at lower rpm's. That was actually my point. I know what you mean about the tuner... I run a quadzilla adrenaline, pretty cool aren't they!?
yes there awesome i thought you were one of those other dudes trying to say a 4 cylinder geared down low can tow better then a diesel.. what year cummins??
2001, x-cab, s.b., slt, 4 door, black, auto. Love it! Towed my Toyota rock crawler to Disney, OK (5 hour drive) the weekend before 4th of July in 105* heat with the A/C blasting, my girlfriend with me, all of our gear, coolers, etc. and the heaviest trailer in our group, pulling 75-80 mph the whole way, knocked down over 15 mpg. Didn't think that was too bad. Hell, the same load last year in a 3/4 ton Chevy 350, I was getting 8 mpg with no A/C, and I had to slow to about 40 mph on some hills!
i do agree tho diesels are for pullin but in a race i think the v10 might beat it maybe idk depends on a lot of stuff but ya i was just sayin you can mod a lot of stuff on both engine not tryin to start anything
what about 2 stroke Detroit diesels? the 7.3L powerstrokes, 6.6L duramax diesels, or any other V8 diesel for that matter..any v8 sounds better then a v10
this is to the idiot that says he has 38's on a 3" lift.. there is no way you fit 38's and with 3" lift and actually drive it.. I've got them on mine with 8" lift and it rubs the bumper when I'm flexing..I call BS
well actually he can it depends on the size/width of tires. my brother has a 2007 F250 with 35x13.5x20 with no lift all we had to do is cut a little off the splash sheilds
austin1199 its a gas engine, and what your seeing is steam as it is a cold start and on a cold day. diesels only blow black because they dont burn all the fuel...in otherwords, it creats soot
Are you stupid? the WAY OUT OF CONTEXT v10 stickers look ridiculous, and I would brag about terrible gas mileage, less torque and horsepower that my 7.3L people like you are the reason others take Ford trucks for granted...and the dumb ass' with glue on vents...do us all a favor put a damn quiet muffler on that thing and drive it off a cliff...dumass.
u r a dumbass my dad's got a 7.3 and i got a v10 they are both great if u drive em right v10's can make great mileage i got 19 at 65 on a straight trip v10's have more hp stock than the 7.3 but they had more torque
Why? Vipers don't need a 4" exhaust to make 500hp and that's a much larger engine. A 4" diesel exhaust isn't gonna give you diesel power and economy. Just use a v10 for what it's worth
It would cost you around 100-150 bucks if you get someone to do it for you. If you do it yourself 40 bucks for the pipe and tip. all you need is to have, or know someone who has a pipe bender and welder.
heck when i did mine i left it come out where it did stock so i didn't even need a pipe bender but ya it is wel worth it my mom hates my pickup cuz she doesn't want ppl to think she a hick with loud exhaust and sutff but stock i couldn't hear it at all
I had the exit at the stock point for a while. My buddy bought the Gibson supertruck system that exits before the rear tire. I loved it so much, I just had the pipe cut and bent to look the same.
Eehhh ill keep my 96 f2 with a real motor and im sorry blown454 but as a trucker i can wheelbarrow anything faster than a cummapart would get it there

amfan12 2 years ago
a 300hp 5.4l and the only transmission option
italianmobsta74 2 years ago
You push the pedal to the floor, and let the engine rev , it will outpull the power stroke.
amfan12 2 years ago

italianmobsta74 2 years ago
no it wont....are you really trying to tell me that my old 5.4l gas half ton will outpull my 7.3l diesel 1 ton, you my friend are what we like to call a retard
italianmobsta74 2 years ago
either way your argument is stupid, gearing has nothing to do with the engine, a toyota with a 5.29 gear ratio could outpull my truck with a 2:1 gear ratio but only be able to go like 5mph, but horsepower means nothing, the higher torque motor will always win in towing, bringing in the fact about gearing is stupid and has nothing to do with the engine
italianmobsta74 2 years ago
Except that toyota engine will rev out to 8,000 RPM, and make that load go just as fast.
amfan12 2 years ago
haha no it wont, the max towing capacity of the gas engines used as examples here are way lower that my diesel engine, you cant just sit at redline on the highway if you cant even get the load to start to move in the first place
italianmobsta74 2 years ago
I know you can't, but HP is everything. HP = RPM*Torque/5252, that means for any given HP, you can gear it down to have as much torque as say a diesel with the same HP, but more torque. If you let that gasser rev to the redline, it would outpull the Diesel.
amfan12 2 years ago
You guys are all missing the most important reason diesels are excellent pullers... torque curve. John Force's 5000 hp funny car engine would not be a good towing mill, as it needs to rev to stratospheric rpm's before it smooths out and makes it's torque. My Cummins operates @ maximum efficiency around 1800 rpms. Keep in mind, when you tow, you are not hooking onto a trailer while traveling at highway speed.... at some point, you have to move that load from idle.
cdm121880 2 years ago
torque and power dont change with gear ratios
but you arent worth my time, keep living in your fantasy land where you think a gas engine can out pull a diesel truck
italianmobsta74 2 years ago
You are a moron, look at the equation, HP=RPM x Torque / 5252. If you have 2.0 4cyl 200HP @ 7000 RPM, it makes 150 ft-lbs. Put a 3:1 reduction on it, and its making that same 200HP, but now at 2333RPM, and because of the reduced RPM, torque output has now increase to 450 ft-lbs. The engine is still spinning away at 7k, but the output shaft is not. Why don't you go back to 9th grade science and get back to me.
amfan12 2 years ago
even if that was true, which it isnt, it doesnt matter, when would you ever see a gas engine with gearing like that and was able to tow? no where, but engine torque doesnt change with gearing, you just cycle through gears quicker and you are able to get in and stay in the powerband quicker, it doesnt change the output
italianmobsta74 2 years ago
it will also blow up to haha
adrenalinemanianc 2 years ago
nor will the explorer rev hi enough to compensate for the hi gearing...if it did it couldnt do it very long and stay reliable...why is this even a fucking arguement DIESELS ARE FOR PULLING YOU CAN GET AROUND IT WITH GEARING IN A GAS YES BUT YOU CANT HAVE IT BE RELIABLE AS A DIESEL NOR HAVE THE TRUE WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT DIESEL GRUNT
FORDGTFANATIC 2 years ago
@amfan12 yeah it would have to rev to 20k to do 70 goin up a hill like a diesel would. hp is not the bottom line .... hp is a # the come from torque vs acceloration... and if u had a 2l maken 400hp its not gona last 500000 miles like a diesel would...hp sell a engine torque wins races
ps3dethman1 1 year ago
And to FORDGTFANATIC, "any diesel from the factory in a pickup is making double the torque of any gas in a pickup", how do you figue that? A Dodge v10, Ford v10, and GM 8.1 liter all made somewhere in the neighborhood of 450 lb. ft. of torque..... where are their 900 lb. ft. diesels. In fact, I believe when the Dodge v10 was introduced, it bested the Cummins by 30-40 lb. ft., how would you explain that? It's all about torque curve and volumetric efficiency, my friend.
cdm121880 2 years ago
diesels make double the torque that there hp..take my dmax, stock its rated at 310hp and 650ft lbs or so any 4 cylinder is gonna be a smaller number of torque...i bet if you hooked my duramax up to any v10 id spin that peice of shit backwords faster then you can blink. on another note how many gas engines can gain Additional 300HP and 460Ft.-lbs of Torque with the press of a button from a programmer? its called ppe hot+2 that means 610hp 1020ft-lbs V10 WHAT???
FORDGTFANATIC 2 years ago
Did I, at any point dispute a diesels ability to more efficiently tow? Dude, I drive and tow with a 2001 Cummins! It pulls great..... I was responding to your statement that diesels all make double the torque output of any gas engine... that is all. Of course a diesel is better for towing, it has a much flatter torque curve and makes that torque at lower rpm's. That was actually my point. I know what you mean about the tuner... I run a quadzilla adrenaline, pretty cool aren't they!?
cdm121880 2 years ago
yes there awesome i thought you were one of those other dudes trying to say a 4 cylinder geared down low can tow better then a diesel.. what year cummins??
FORDGTFANATIC 2 years ago
2001, x-cab, s.b., slt, 4 door, black, auto. Love it! Towed my Toyota rock crawler to Disney, OK (5 hour drive) the weekend before 4th of July in 105* heat with the A/C blasting, my girlfriend with me, all of our gear, coolers, etc. and the heaviest trailer in our group, pulling 75-80 mph the whole way, knocked down over 15 mpg. Didn't think that was too bad. Hell, the same load last year in a 3/4 ton Chevy 350, I was getting 8 mpg with no A/C, and I had to slow to about 40 mph on some hills!
cdm121880 2 years ago 2
lol ohh no but you can do the same thing with a 4 cylinder you just gotta gear it down and rev it up to 8000 rpm the whole way its better XD
FORDGTFANATIC 2 years ago
Yeah, I'll pass on that! Lol.

this isnt supercharged u dumb fuck

i do agree tho diesels are for pullin but in a race i think the v10 might beat it maybe idk depends on a lot of stuff but ya i was just sayin you can mod a lot of stuff on both engine not tryin to start anything

Diesel sounds like fucking shit, sorry, just freakin hate trucks
Zdrummer45 2 years ago
what about 2 stroke Detroit diesels? the 7.3L powerstrokes, 6.6L duramax diesels, or any other V8 diesel for that matter..any v8 sounds better then a v10
FORDGTFANATIC 2 years ago
They just sound like a Fed-Ex truck.... And really annoying to listen to idle for more than 30 seconds.
Zdrummer45 2 years ago
time for intake valve seals.....shes buring oil like a biach!
backwoodsctryboy 2 years ago
The truck did not burn a drop of oil.
It was like 10 degrees out when I took the vid.
rg200amp 2 years ago
needs some stacks
bobfe360 2 years ago
I love the look. But on a gasser its just not the same. If you have stacks, you need 15 feet of black smoke shooting out of them!!
rg200amp 2 years ago
black smoke usaully means something is wrong. or u dont know how to tune ur fuel air mixture.
bobfe360 2 years ago
yeah thats bullshit.... you just let everyone on youtube know your ignorant when it comes to diesel or what kind of truck you put stacks on.
Dustin55b 2 years ago
im quoting my haynes book what are u ur how to sound like a stupid cunt book. black smoke means ur not burning all ur fuel.
bobfe360 2 years ago
ya and if u pull a 5th wheel trailer or put pallets of seed corn in the back n turn to sharp u wreck em
adrenalinemanianc 2 years ago
how much oil are you outing in that thing looks like its burning alot!
mauser8mm192422 2 years ago
Smoke was due to a cold start. It used no oil. 5000 mile oil change intervals with out useing a drop.
rg200amp 2 years ago
sweet man how many miles on it?
mauser8mm192422 2 years ago
there where about 69,000 miles onit when I got rid of it.
rg200amp 2 years ago
i do the same on mine bout ever 5000 and i got 145000 on it now and she runs great doesn't use a drop
do u got a cat on that

Yes it had the stock cat.

i want that in a 73trans am, or a skyline gtr

big ass V10 sticker looks like you're over compensating
Domman56 2 years ago
I used to have a HUGE f250 rated at 3/4ton, with a lift, with no muffler so its loud as hell, and the stickers are the giveaway!?!?!?!?!!?!?!
Thank you buddy!

i bought this same truck and love it........ crazzyy power and crazzzy speed , all u redneck haters dont know what the fukk ur talkin aboutt.....

How do you get your car inspected
strohm187 3 years ago
Truck is sold now.
When I had it inspected the guy asked me about it. but passed me.
Its a call on the shops part. its not allowed to pass. but if you know some one, or the shop is cool, you can get away with it.
rg200amp 3 years ago
I like a nice sound, but at least get a performance muffler on that beast. thats over doing it a bit...
gohawks880 3 years ago
this is to the idiot that says he has 38's on a 3" lift.. there is no way you fit 38's and with 3" lift and actually drive it.. I've got them on mine with 8" lift and it rubs the bumper when I'm flexing..I call BS
Gant84 3 years ago
well actually he can it depends on the size/width of tires. my brother has a 2007 F250 with 35x13.5x20 with no lift all we had to do is cut a little off the splash sheilds
jay0173 2 years ago
austin1199 its a gas engine, and what your seeing is steam as it is a cold start and on a cold day. diesels only blow black because they dont burn all the fuel...in otherwords, it creats soot
7ford7man 3 years ago
You should have put the LARGE V-10 stickers on the side, dipshit.
nellad73 3 years ago
Are you stupid? the WAY OUT OF CONTEXT v10 stickers look ridiculous, and I would brag about terrible gas mileage, less torque and horsepower that my 7.3L people like you are the reason others take Ford trucks for granted...and the dumb ass' with glue on vents...do us all a favor put a damn quiet muffler on that thing and drive it off a cliff...dumass.
smitty16s 3 years ago
u r a dumbass my dad's got a 7.3 and i got a v10 they are both great if u drive em right v10's can make great mileage i got 19 at 65 on a straight trip v10's have more hp stock than the 7.3 but they had more torque
adrenalinemanianc 2 years ago
are ur rings gone alot of white smoke
METALMULISHACO 3 years ago
was it really cold or do v10s smoke like diesels?
Austin1199396 3 years ago
you know its not good to rev your engine from a cold start
bonezy09 3 years ago 2
Sounds good, I put the 4" MBRP exhaust on my V10 with no cat and 6" tips.
flames0070 3 years ago
Why? Vipers don't need a 4" exhaust to make 500hp and that's a much larger engine. A 4" diesel exhaust isn't gonna give you diesel power and economy. Just use a v10 for what it's worth
tcm8843 3 years ago 2
I didn't put it on for power...I put it on for the sound. I haven't heard any other V10's that sound like mine.
flames0070 3 years ago
It would cost you around 100-150 bucks if you get someone to do it for you. If you do it yourself 40 bucks for the pipe and tip. all you need is to have, or know someone who has a pipe bender and welder.
thanks for the comment!
rg200amp 4 years ago
heck when i did mine i left it come out where it did stock so i didn't even need a pipe bender but ya it is wel worth it my mom hates my pickup cuz she doesn't want ppl to think she a hick with loud exhaust and sutff but stock i couldn't hear it at all
adrenalinemanianc 2 years ago
I had the exit at the stock point for a while. My buddy bought the Gibson supertruck system that exits before the rear tire. I loved it so much, I just had the pipe cut and bent to look the same.
rg200amp 2 years ago
How much did that cost?
im deciding what i wana do with my v-10
sounds great btw
scrappyfish 4 years ago
Like the truck needs after market wheels. I have the same just with a 3 inch lift and 38s with wheels. I really enjoy the sound of the v10s
