Whoever made the comment that "the band are going through the motions on this performance" appears to be quite disconnected from the QOTSA vibe and music in general. Josh and Mike embrace a psuedo-acapella bridge displaying their intimate connection to the moment and the audience. If you truly know your QOTSA, that is why these guys play and what they live for. Moments like that "live" are quite rare. They have never done this song in such a profound way. My advice...get connected.
Right let's get this straight as people are misinterpreting what I originally stated.
With the Glastonbury performance , both the band and the audience connected and Josh was in fine spirits. I don't know why people seem to think I am referring to moshing/head banging, I just get the feeling that the band are going through the motions on this performance and the audience can probably tell. That's why I found this particular performance boring to watch.
@brody789 But were you at both festivals ? I think only then you can compare the audience. Maybe you are right. I was there and I think they were really conected with the audience. Atleast that was what I felt.
@brody789 So the fact that Linkin Park played after them, and they didn't on glastonbury, means nothing to you?
The fact that most people there were there for linkin park and not the best band of this era, could not change your "different" opinion. Don't you dare insult the audience that listens to the might Queens, or the band themselves. Cuz that's what you're doing by calling this a boring performance. It's the music, not the people that matter. Go watch some Green Day, douchebag.
@matenizer Hahaha, come back and say something remotely interesting without twisting what I have said in a couple of years when you have grown up a little.
Douchebag? Lol.
Just because I didn't particularly like a QOTSA performance shown on YT, it doesn't mean I am insulting anyone.
@brody789 I was there, and I felt kinda connected my friend. When the camera's should take a shot of the 50 front rows instead of the back, you would see.
@brody789 I was as a big QotSa fan at the Werchter so and I was fuckin pissed there were people in the front and were just standing there like total douches...
@brody789 Personally, I'm English and was at Werchter only... look at it from the musicians perspective, QOTSA had approx 76,000 people in front of them that day, if that doesn't give them a buzz and make them wanna entertain they're probably dead inside. Comparing concerts is never a good thing, we all have good and bad days - I'll remember that day for all the positives, no point comparing it to anything else -it was Werchter 2011.
oh and by the way, qotsa played fairly early in the day at Werchter compared to Glasto - maybe this connection you mention was related to intoxication of whatever floated the audiences boat that day.
i think it all depends on the songs they play whether you mosh and dance like crazy, or stand there chilled in awe. any song off the 1st album and most songs off songs for the deaf you wanna be dancing around like crazy, but other songs like this one, in the fade etc you do just wanna stand there and take it all in
when the song breaks down and Josh and Mikey sing, man that gives me the fuckin chills... amazing. "Better Living..." is definitely one of their best songs.
Queens of the Stone Age is the one band that I WOULDN'T go nuts in the crowd to. Whenever I've seen them live, I just stand there in awe and try to soak in as much of it as possible and burn it into my brain, to hopefully never forget it. I don't wanna miss a single part of it. This band is the greatest live band I've ever seen.
I loved hearing some non-festival songs in the set list, but the lukewarm reaction of the crowd was really annoying. It's not because you can't sing it along that you have to start talking all over it.
@SeansCool1 Get fucked, all I am saying is this was boring to watch compared to Glastonbury due to the band and audience looking completely bored. Tosser
@brody789 Shows how much you actually give a shit about the music, I'd personally go apeshit even if Qotsa played this classic tune in a fucking kitchen closet to a zero audience.
@SpaceCadet1 I don't give a shit about the music? I recently saw them at Glasto and also Bournemouth (as well as countless times over the last 8 years). If I didn't give a shit about the music I wouldn't have gone to see them would I?
They look piss bored at this festival and don't appear to connect with the audience who also look bored. That is all
@brody789 I've always considered Qotsa one of those eloquently low-key bands that lets the music speak for itself, and that's what the crowd should be "connecting" with. I've never got the people who think that the only way to appreciate the band live is to go one way or the other berserk in the crowd. So just because everyone isn't crowd-surfing at 4:14 automatically means they are bored at the performance? And what's this about the band looking bored, not enough smiling for your liking? :D

@brody789 acctually you are tottally right.
They played way to early on the evening. it started 8.30
They should 've been the headliner for that night but instead they got Linkin park after QOTSA .OMFG!
Werchter is all about money and its not the festival anymore it was.
I wish i was in glastonbury to see them the audience was way more enthousiast.
Still i like the video and like every version of there songs.
