  • nice short demonstration!

  • I am trying to gain explosive strength. Im currently doing one arm dumbbell hang snatches for 3x6 @90lbs. Is there an advantage to doing hang snatches over plain snatches? should i do full one arm snatches and increase my weight?

    Good video!

  • @mountainsnbirds If you are technically competent I'd suggest adding power snatches. One arm snatches are more of an assistance exercise in my opinion. I like both hang and power snatches from the floor.

  • gj love it. So many bad videos out there.

  • thanks, been looking for a proper form technique to use!

  • is it bad if i sort of go into a squat position when I get the weight up?

  • No there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, at heavier loads you'll have to do that to catch the weight. If you caught the weight AND THEN did a squat, that would be a single arm DB snatch followed by a single arm overhead squat. That's a good combination as well.

  • What a newb. I can do 140 on the 1 hand snatch.

  • That's great for you. This is a demonstration video and not a maximal effort.

  • you sir an idiot, and publicly if I may add. Let's see your video, like we even care, silly troll

  • @ke422azn You're an idiot

  • @xmfdibujito and an asshole

  • the only good video i found where they are using the right form

  • Thanks for the feedback.

  • @sniperboy102

Very true, many are sloppy and concentrate on looking good with a bigger weight and havveing the most FUCKED form. Nice form HPCsport, helped heaps :)

  • great

  • Very good demo

  • nice video, I love this excersize, except I just use the 35 or 45 pounds plate with the grips on it.

  • Why aren't you getting under the weight?

  • The weight is caught with NO press-out so there is no need to "get under" the weight. If the weight were greater (and couldn't be pulled as high) then the drop would need to be lower. At the weight used in the video, the athlete "gets under" the weight appropriately. Perhaps you are thinking of a single arm DB snatch squat?
