I always preferred Asian dragons to western dragons. Asian dragons pre-proved (before TV and such I mean) that just because they're giant sized and have powers like breathing fire doesn't mean that they're evil monsters. Of course in recent times western dragons, like Spike from My Little Pony or Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon, have proven to be goodhearted too.
