@rach39415 I'm 12 too and I have quite severe scoliosis so there is no point for me to have a brace... You should feel lucky to have a brace!You shouldn't feel unhappy! It must be tough and I guess I can't advise you much because I don't have a brace, but would you rather wear a brace or need surgery and have a MASSIVE scar for life! I guess that's what you should ask yourself when you feel upset. Also, you rather be in pain because your back is getting worse? It's ok! It won't last forever! ;-)

Scoliosis is just a journey, and it makes you who you are. So what if you friend wear sports bra's at sleepovers? Make up for that by wearing cute yoga pants with an awesome shirt for your brace. This is for the people who want surgery but are not sure about it so im gonna tell you what my doctor said and people who had it done my doctor said surgery is a go idea you wont have any problems but here is what actual people who've had it done the said its the worst thing you could ever get the rods break after a couple years and since their metal they rust and cause infections and much more so maybe before you go get surgery you should look at the side effects first to make sure your doing
Okay so I had the surgery 8 months and i can still do a backbend, but I like can't bend forward.. like I can't even slouch in my seat, my friends always tell me "wow, you have great posture!" and I'll have to explain the whole story.. my whole spine is fused, what about you? Can you bend forward?
I'm 15... And I'm from Europe,so my scoliosis is lumbal thoracic... in lumbal part of spine my degree is 65 and in thoracic part is 32... and still I won''t go to surgery... Because in my opinion,but just in mine ... That's not good idea ; so enjoy ;)
Hi im 14 currently and need surgery basically same story as yours same age when I was diagnosed but the curve was very slight.. I got my back brace when I was 12 and wear it every night I have the province brace that u wear at night. I have a 55 degree curve that wont stop getting worse:( I need to get surgery soon and I'm totally scared! How long were u in pain for? Does the scar ever go away??
I am overweight, so I couldn't tell if I had scoliosis. But, 2 months ago I was diagnosed with scoliosis. I have two 30 degree curves in my spine. I'm going in to a Specialist soon, so if I have any questions, just be waiting for me! Haha. Thanks!
