Good choice. I think you would be best get a more stable bike though. Depends on the country really - if you like taking it down bendy roads be carefull - because you will find yourself in a tank-slapper if turn too fast

The CBR600 is really agile. They are great nippy little bikes. But they aren't as stable as say a GSXR...Dont get me wrong. Agility is great for when attacking corners - the bike will be far quicker to respond than other bikes. Its comming out of turns that you want to look out for. They're great fun and great bikes - im no trying to discourage you from buying one.... Bottom line would be just to take it easy until you're comfortable with it though

The old farts yelling 600CC is too big of a bike just need to get off their high horse. They have penile problems and can't stand the idea of a young lads riding the thing that took them 20 years to get to because they weren't confident, didn't show the qualities I spoke of and were gutless.

600CC is fine for a first bike, the bike isn't what kills these dumbass kids now a days. Young kids+fast bike and no protection= death sentence but that's not the 600CC engines fault. Young kids and fast cars is bad enough.

Respect, cautiousness, taking it easy and supressing the urge to show off are all needed in order to drive these race replicas as a beginner. Most people don't possess those qualities.

I got my cbr 600 rr 2005 model about a week now and my previus bikes where a moped -_- and a cbr 125 :P. I have to say that hopping onto that 600 bike was a BIG leap!!! Altho for a person thats never riden any bike before i think that he will find the position of your body on the bike verry unussual and his wrists sore for a couple of days, other than that the bike is a dream and its throttle is VERRY controlable, if someone crashes a cibber its deffinately theyr fault, not the bikes
