@itsMastaN it doesn't work mate, i'm grateful you would post but the only way to restore using DFU mode is to do it on the computer the iPhone was originally synched to. If you try to restore a phone on a new computer, and the iPhone has relatively recent firmware it will not work, and will come up with a passcode error. Thanks again, but like i said, this doesn't work.
@Discofreestyle Ofcourse you can once iTunes or your computer detects dfu then you can do it on any itunes computer. This is common sense, I don't get how you went from a clean restore to removing a logic board, the reason the uploader is telling you to purchase a logic board ($250) is obviously earn money. Just tryna help you mate
I bought an jailbroken iphone 3GS 16gb (i'm on O2 prepay) but the 4 digit passcode the guy texted me is wrong, and i didn't realise until it locked itself. I'm trying to get a refund but he won't get back to my texts now and it seems they are impossible to restore/bypass passcode unless i have the computer it was synced to originally.
If i don't get my money back can you fix it with a new logic board? It seems like the only possible way i could ever use this phone, or is it useless? :(
I have an iPhone 3G that blew up because I bought a cheap crappy iPhone charger on eBay. :@ I want to sue the seller sooo bad ! :@ There were sparks flying when I plugged in the wall charger & my iPhone blew up & now is dead. I bought a new OEM charging port but it didn't work. New battery didn't work. I'm assuming it's the motherboard that's been blown up too & is dead now. Is there any way I can fix it ? Or is it damaged beyond repair ? Thanks ! :)
@GODLOVEEESYOU - The unit will need to be professionally diagnosed, but probably will need the logic board replaced. We have logic boards available on our website. You can also call us for more info at 1-866-726-3342, option 1.
@PowerbookMedic Oh ok thank you. I knew it was the motherboard ! Is it possible to repair it even though it has blown up ? It looks normal but I'm sure inside it's broken. A motherboard is very expensive.
hey, is the structure of 3GS mainboards identical all around the world? i opened up my mainboard and toshiba nand drive seems to be smaller than the photo shown on the net. i live in australia and the iphone 16gb 3gs is 2months old.
Hi, I have a 8Gb iphone 3G and i was wondering if i could upgrade the memory by buying a 16Gb iphone 3G logic board and replacing it so it will have 16GB is that possible?
hey from what you've seen is there any way to swap the flash cards into another iPhone 3GS?
my logic board got fried and i don't want to send it in while it's jailbroken, and swapping the cards then restoring it seems to be the only way since my iphone won't even turn on

Hi, my phone is stuck in DFU mode, will removing the logic board help?
AbbeyIncorporated 10 months ago
@AbbeyIncorporated - Removing the logic board won't do anything. Replacing the logic board would fix the issue however.

amin4570 1 year ago
@amin4570 - You can by replacing the logic board, but at that point you're better off getting a new phone.

This is great but where can I actually BUY a logic board for an iPhone 3G S?

The midboard should be the same. The parts are standardized.
