great video! im planning on canoeing/fishing the buffalo on june 15th-22nd all the way to buffalo city. do you know the river well or think that the water levels will be too low?
we floated that stretch in april 2 years ago and it was a RIDE! this looks so calm! how did you do at the shoals before gray rock and at gray rock? i got killed at gray rock and then t-boned by a canoe! LOVE THE BIGSMITH TUNES! you in springfield?
What time of year did you canoe on the upper Buffalo? I'm looking to go in April but I hear it can be pretty quick and challenging. What do you think?
imagine, in the mid 70's there was a plan to put a dam on the buffalo many of the locals objected to the dam and stopped it.. instead, the fed gov bought out properties near the river.
on top of the bluff at Jim bluff is a old home that Granny Henderson live in that is my Great Grand Mother. If you have not been up Sneed Creek you need to hike it...
Thanks so much for your post! That makes you a borderline celebrity in my book! I have been to the cabin, but only hiked a short part of Sneed's Creek. Is it pretty scenic? As scenic as Hemmed-In Hollow's creek?

This was late May but the water is not dependable at that time. We lucked out and it was good late in to the month.

We went this week, June 4th and it was beautiful. I wouldn't recommend putting in at Steel Creek, we carried A LOT! Put in further down river!

This was mid-May which was about the time the river was starting to get to low. It was too low to put in @ Ponca so we put in @ Steele Creek.
