Bill Haley is known the world over as the Father of Rock ’n’ Roll. Haley was the first white artist to combine elements of rhythm & blues, western swing, and hillbilly music to produce the upbeat, danceable, and infectious sound known today as rock ’n’ roll.
I love early rock'n'roll movies and the music is usually great. But this is possibly the worst song I ever heard in my life, and certainly the one with the most asinine lyrics.
n 1986, 354 women were killed by evil clowns in one year, you better comment this to ten videos or a clown with evil red eyes will be staring at you when you wake up with a macheti you have one hour go go go
Hilarous and confusing feel here visually: the taboo "breaking the rules" them about dancing on the furniture (wow! rebels, etc.) though surreal that it is obviously a formally choreographed dance scene on the furniture. Choreographed spontaneity: something really American about this. "Rebels, learn! Play it safe when breaking the rules! Rebel professionally! Take the time to choreograph your rebellion!"
RongWrong: It's a clip from a silly Rock n Roll movie from the 50's... Of course the dancing is choreographed! It was scripted, directed and shot in scenes. And it seems "really American" because IT IS. Just simple 1950's Rock n Roll entertainment full of music and dancing. It wasn't supposed to be a primer on teen delinquency. Loosen up, Daddy-O.. God, you MUST be British...
Yup, The Beatles are cool as heck. But they were, (like most British Invasion bands of the time), just playing American Rock n' Roll and Blues music. My comment to RongWrong was in regards to his "stick up the butt", pragmatic political analysis of a cool little R n' R movie. So, choreographed spontaneity is "really American"? I wonder if RongWrong saw "A Hard Day's Night" or "Help!" ha ha......
to: opd717opd...in the very beginning they (the beatles)were playing very basic stuff based on American R&R...but that quickly changed once the hippy drug era started.....day in a life, something, I am the walrus, within you without you, the inner light, these were definately not traditional american 12 bar blues
inkey2: I agree with you. The Beatles transcended and changed the face of music as we knew it at that time. It was an amazing period... From greasers to gurus... Psychedelic.
I am more than surprised that the song "Don't knock the Rock" doesn't feature anywhere on youtube!!!..(unless i just can't find it)..it's one of my favourites.

The singer is Alan Dale (not Arnie Haines).
For info about him google
'Alan Dale prince of baritones'.
