bj really shoul've trained harder and more. i heard edgars speed just made bj look slow but i really think bj was a wayyyyy faster in the joe stevensen, kenflo, etc. fights. bj's corner men are crap. if they said that trash in the middle of the fight, imagine what they did during his training. BJ should probably think about changing up the people in his corner. Giving him a 6th grade football coach pep talk isn't going to help him when he's lost 4 rounds. wow, BJ Penn is great fighter,but why can't people give Frankie Edgar credit. BJ Penn is still as good as he ever was, Frankie is really that much better. Getting a Take down on BJ is no task. BJ's pride gets the best of him and he can't deal with his loss. He should have let Maynard fight Frankie, and took more time to prepare for a rematch for the title. I want Frankie to beat Maynard, but I think Maynard is pretty beast. Thats going to be a good fight.

The first fight I thought Penn won it but was close but the rematch Penn got beat clearly, what i dont understand is Penn didn't look himself in neither fight.
It was a bad Penn twice in a row I think he's only heading down hill now, kinda sad really because the good Penn would destroy Edgar im not taking nothing away from Edgar though he fought well but I cant see him being champ for long.
And Penn will retire soon I should think couple more fights and done.

he really was schooled. he never evolved as a fighter, and his camp had the most ridiculous game plan. bj never tried to adjust in first 3 rounds did exactly the same thing which are the most crucial rounds.
3= a dec. win.
he finally changed it in the 4th and 5th going for the TD, too little too late.
he needs to change camps to evolve as a fighter, his current camp has nothing more to offer his game.

@Donpaeng Very true BJ's gameplan was awful and he wasnt nearly aggressive enough or hungry. You could tell how much more Frankie wanted it. BJ should have been alot more aggressive and went for more takedowns. The first 3 rounds he didnt go for one takedown and this ia guy who has excellent BJJ. Penn should have also did more counter striking he followed Frankie around the ring and Frankie did not let him clinch up or put him against the cage. BJ was just puzzled in how to beat this guy.

edgar was a scoring with a little bit of everything, leg kicks, takedowns, punches and even GnP.
edgar is no phenom in one attribute, but he is a jacK.
bj penn was looking to counter but just couldn't get the right timing, he kept on getting beat to the punch, with the in and out double jab to a body kick finish.
the way edgar moves forward as he strikes, is vulnerable for a counter shoot.
maynard will beat edgar for sure.

I Still think BJ is a better fighter and I think edgar would have had trouble with some of BJ's past opponents he steam rolled, but Edgar just had better speed, edurance, and intelligence in the octagon. I think maynard will definitely beat edgar. It really is all about who you face too. I think BJ could beat maynard but he cant beat edgar lol.
