  • These ingredients are great, and there are many combinations. I also use kale and/or spinach as my base, and bananas, but I'm a believer in berries, so I also add berries (blue or raspberry, usually). While some complain about kale being bitter, the right amount of fruit will mask it just fine. Because of the blueberries, my smoothies are blue, but it's still 75-80% kale/spinach.

  • That is one of the biggest myths that sugar from fruits spike blood sugar, it doesn't. Check out Robert Morse or read 80/10/10.  Fruit is the perfect food for man. Anyways, nice smoothie, I like to add a jalapeno or habanero pepper to mine to give it a kick.

  • Just one more thing that I would like to add. If there is anyone suffering for depression or any type of mental illness this is a great way to start to treat your condition. Emotionally I am so much more balanced than I was before eating RAW foods. Before, I was a slave to my emotions. Now, I am starting to feel like if I'm having a bad day I can stop it from becoming a train out of control that I can't manage. I have a much HIGHER ability to stop and make better choices for myself,emotionally.

  • It actually got to the point were I thought to myself I just my vomit. I don't know if it was because my taste buds are so used to processed foods or what. If there is any recipe that you can recommend for someone making a transition into the RAW world someone please point me in the right direction. Like I mentioned earlier I believe I am on the right track because eating RAW so far has me feeling great. Its just the taste that I can't seem to get over. SN: Sorry if I was a bit harsh.

  • @composertimbeek Thanks I'm already about a week into my transition. I just added a few more fruit to my next smoothie and it tasted great. Each day that passes I'm just adding a little more greens. I've learned that kale is somewhat strong tasting and spinach is a lot less noticeable. Just the other day I made a smoothie and filled it with spinach because I know i can take the taste. And to anyone who is experiencing the same problem and I just ease into it.

  • @ShineLoveLightShine Your welcome, when I first started with the RAW foods (5 days ago) I was looking at it like a diet or temporary thing. I didn't expect to feel so good so fast. This is something that I think I will incorporate into my life from now on. :-)

  • I just tried this smoothie and I feel great. A slight calm feeling has come over me. But I must say drinking this smoothie was one of the more difficult things I have ever done. At first it was green (witch I expected being that there is green stuff in it). Then I smelled it and it was quite pleasant. Then I tasted it, at first it was some what plan but very drinkable (or so I thought). The more I drank the "worlds best green smoothie" the more I realized how awful it actually tasted.

  • @eMediaNow Hi, I just wanted to comment here, insulin spikes are not something to be afraid of, because many foods do that, insulin is your bodies transporter, so when you eat, you rinsuling spikes and transports the nutrients to the cells. It is spiked blood sugar when using simple carbs that are the problem. because in this case the insulin spike stores it as fat

  • @aterlycan ..By the way, frequent insulin spikes are not good because over time they lead to insulin resistance. Anyway, this smoothie looks awesome and healthy, and I am going to definitely try it!

  • @OZRIC1985 This may be splitting hairs as far as meaning goes, but I think when you say frequent insulin spikes are the problem, I will have to disagree, just cause I eat 6 meals a day (your regular training diet regime) and every time I eat my insulin spikes to get the nutrients into the cells. However continued elevated insulin production (which for me is different then spikes, a spike per definition is a short term occurrence) but an continues elevated insulin level gives us ins. resistance

  • I usually mix Banana, spinach and orange.

  • I tried without banana to avoid the insulin spike and it was amazing...so refreshing and good for you!

  • pbziegler why wyould you infer that he is an infomercial peddler? He is not making one cent. He should be! But no, he is generously sharing information to who ever wants to take it and better their lives with it. Not sure what your problem is really.

  • I don't want to be rude but Tim looked better when he was a vegan. I know the raw food diet is the best diet for us. So I reckon that Tim is not doing it right. Perhaps Tim needs to eat more high calorie fruits and chill out on the smoothies. Try watching some of Tim's earlier videos right when he started the running raw campaign, you'll see that he looked more handsome than he does now.

  • Looks great! BUT: Don't you wanna put some kind of fatty ingredient in there? So the body can absorb all the fat soluble nutrients? Perhaps some Hemp or coconut oil? :)

  • 811rs say leafy greens aren't really vegetables, and go well with fruit.(Though Kale is an exception; it's crusiferous) .

    And the Juiceman says don't juice fruit with veggies, exept Apple is fine.

    I love to make juice (orange or carrot), then add frozen fruit in the blender. Makes a yummy treat! I don't do this every day, mind you!

  • Good to see you having fun with it all Tim. I am a smoothie fan but I don't know about pineapple and banana together. Mulberry leave is a fantastic green to put into a fruit smoothie to help with the sugar load

  • @crash6871 Sushi actually isn't raw. Sushi is the rice, which is cooked. And it's sometimes wrapped in nori which is usually roasted (there is raw nori though). But it's often served with raw veggies and/or fish though, so yeah, a small part of it is raw.

  • I like both juicing and smoothies.

    I like to juice cucumber, celery and spinach together (all low in sugar) and drink this in the evening when you should consume fewer calories anyway.

    Smoothies is more like a food to drink / eat throughout the day.
