Love Indian people! Being a personal trainer having worked in a gym full time the most polite customers to the gym and the nicest people to train were my Indian clients. I also love Indian food my favourite is Zuzu Chicken or Bangalore Duck - yummy scrummy. Also up there with my fav's are chicken Tikka and Korma curry. Popadoms are just the best snakc to have with any Indian food. Really want to visit India oneday with my hubby and daughter :) Emma, 26, UK.
It really works!! And to viewer KsiraChora,if Tulsi with milk can be given in temples and homes after puja, I don't think god will mind if we use it for medical purposes....
@KsiraChora eating tulsi as prasad is one thing but using tulsi like this is verr different, yes people use for tea and in ayurvedic soaps etc but this is not appopriate tulsi should be treated with respect
I have a question about Turmeric Powder. Where can I get it? Is it equal to the spice called Curcuma or is it something else?
And another question: My friend (from Seychelles) cooks with a spice that she calls "Saffron", but it does not look like what we (in Europe) call Saffron. It looks more like your Turmeric Powder or like Curcuma. Do you have any Idea what it could be? Thank you so much! <3 :-)
Turmeric powder is easily available at any indian grocers. Saffron has sort of burgandy color. And saffron is used occasionally due to it's strong flavor and also expensive.
God did not tell me that I should not use Tulsi. I do believe in god but not blindly. We do consume Tulsi even when it is offered to lord with Prasad. Tulsi is often used in Indian tea as well and millions of people in India use it.
@SuperVeggieDelight The comment you have answered is rather amusing. For similar reasons it may be offensive to use Haldi, Chandan and a host of substances far holier than Tulsi. In fact, in Hindu / Indian thought, the whole ecology is considered sacred .Where does this take us?
Knowledge and wisdom are different and it is important to know the difference.
I add honey after little bit. You must have seen me adding in cup and not in hot boiling watered pot....so yes, it does get little warm and thax a lot for sharing.
My grandmother's old recipe was to add a table spoon of rock and rye to hot tea with a spoon of honey and lemon. Rock n Rye is a rye whiskey liqueur with honey, orange and lemon. Can't give that to kids today. :) I've used honey & ginger for years. About 10 years ago I started to add turmeric. I never thought about adding bay. I'll have to try it.

It is offensive to use tulsi like this she is the pure devotee of lord krishna and should not be used like an ingredient
