  • Whats the name of the last tune?

  • Jarlath had never played this chanter and the acoustics of the room is not very good

  • Does anyone know the name of the second tune?

  • @Lochbesda16 its called 'the patron', jarlath wrote it him self.

  • This chanter was manufactured with a design and measures that Alain Froment sent personally to Arhpa after visiting the workshop in Madrid and be impressed with the quality with which they work.

  • Those pipes sound excellent! There is no need to bicker about who makes the best pipes! It would be like saying who is (or was) the best uilleann piper! I would say Leo Rowsome was the best piper, but that would be a subjective opinion! Hey, I would definitely get one of those pipes if I could afford it! Again, great sound!

  • I'm not say that you don't speak, but you would have give data to justify your critics. I don't try that you give me the reason, I only express my opinion and justify it. Speak to speak is very easy, I prefer play the uilleann.

    Adieu!!

  • Hello,

The young Jarlath is a fantastic piper ! It's a pity that Arpha full set have no drones and no regulators...and sometimes no chanter...

  • Surely?

All the uilleann pipes of ARHPA have good tone and great sound. Really, the nyaah is with them.

You would have play better the UP, to appreciate it.

  • ah, ah, ah......lol....sure it's the reason why the greatest pipers around the world don't play them....really I'll be surprise that Jarlath will play this set a long time....

"You would have play better the UP, to appreciate it." : the first part is right ! For the second one , I let you know that, like everybody, I have two ears and they hear rather well.

  • I'm happy that you has well yours ears but I'm not in agreement with yours opinion. Probably never you had the opportunity to touch a ARHPA set deeply.

In this video, Jarlath it's not touching a ARHPA set? Thank the heavens this sounds bad, because when they improve with the years they are going to make better pipes that Geoff Woof, Alain Froment or Leo Rowsome.

  • No matter Mambru...it's not really my problem !

"when they improve with the years they are going to make better pipes that Geoff Woof, Alain Froment or Leo Rowsome." : it's a great challenge Mambru, but I hope for all the pipers that your dream will be realize ! It's a long way...

    Take care

  • Mambru, I think my last answer is not at the right place.Sorry.

  • Ok, no problem.

I only think that they are good uilleann makers. I understand that you prefer others. But simply because to you don't like it, you don't give the rights to criticize his work in a public forum. There are great pipers that plays pipes of ARHPA, same Mick O'Brien for example.

    Best regards

  • I just saw this comment.

And in a C set, you want a mellow sound.

Not your nyaah. You want that in a concert set.
