Buffett knows what is really worth spending money on. from the outside he looks cheap, buying 2nd hand vehicles and what not, but from a financial perspective he spends as little as possible on things that have little or no return value, and he uses them until he gets every dime he paid for. im sure he wouldnt have a problem dropping $5m on a property during a downturn that returns $20m wen the market is back up

Great Documentary! But I really want to know how to invest in companies. Buy some of the company's share, for example through scottrade? What way did warren buffet invest in the company's when he first started? Anyone catch that from the documentary, or did someone clearly understand the specific investing method?

@abeismain the way is how much would you pay for a company based on future earnings growth, personally i use average margin divide by two = p/e value x profit after tax = company value, use a margin of safety with net assets close to market value,,,, example im from the uk iv bought barclays bank shares so 23%margin/2=11.5p/e x 5999m= 68,988m value(market value is 33,000m) net asset value of 60,000m..

@abeismain - I would recommend Peter Lynch's - One Up on Wall-Street. Ben Graham (Warren Buffett's teacher) wrote two good books too. 'Security Analysis' and 'Intelligent Investor' (but, both these books are a little more boring that Lynch's.

Also, there's a great book on Buffett. But, it won't teach you the nuts-and-bolts of investing. It's still a great read though! 'Warren Buffett; the making of an American Capitalist.'

Those words on paper sheet,which I never use in my daily life. plus the teachers are way too german to teach english. when people only learn a language as a study subject, its way 2 boring for me. I feel kinda lost in pb. the question sheets are kinda,hmmm, the only thing i can say is that I question the qulification for those who made the questions for english b.

plus i already got irish accent. it sucks.
