The emperor wears no clothes. Nobody loves Astral Weeks more than I, but Van is a shell of himself - lost all the sweetness in his young voice and just mumbles through songs.

this is the first time he's performed astral weeks since 1968! and i think its his best most meaningful song to him. well definitely my favorite! the story in this song and album is amazing and can be taken in many different ways. i'm 19 and my dad made me listen to classic rock when i was young. then i found all his albums and he had basically an entire van morrison collection. Now i see how amazing this guy actually is. everyone talks lennon as the greatest songwriter. i give it to Van.

Awesome! This is the first time I've seen any footage of this concert at the bowl. Apparently this DVD is no longer available in North America. I was fortunate enough to see this concert in Toronto at Massey Hall, it was a great night! Please continue with these great posts. Thank you.
