The mp5 is a fine weapon. The reason for the double tap is to shut down the nerves of the enemy and put him down for good or checking if the target is wearing body armor if the enemy does not go down.Then if they do not go down for the double tap you shoot them in the head and after the room is clear they do a dead check and move on, and when it comes to CQB the mp5 is a excellent weapon.

Weapon recoil is taught in the classroom instruction. It is simple physics, and no, SEALS cannot change that.
Recoil impulse, velocity and energy can be calculated easily from the weight of the weapon, the weight of the projectile and the speed of the round and the like.
Simply put a heavy weapon with a slow light round will have almost zero recoil; like a long barrel .22 target pistol. A derringer with a large fast round will kick like a mule!

I really do not get why you would use this gun against trained and armed enemies.
The gun itself is great,unfortunately the bullet it uses is not. It can't even penetrate a helmet let alone a BPV.
