17% of the MPs in the parliament does not belongs to PAP,while the other 83% belongs to PAP. PAP are the government, of course they need more seats. So don't keep saying parliament need more opposition voices, unless you say 17% is not enough.

Opposition MPs in the parliament is just to make sure that different voices is heard in the parliament. So even if the Opposition party did not win any seat, parliament still die die must have at least 9 MPs to be non-constituency MPs. 9 Nominated MPs (NCMP) will also be in parliament. Example: if PAP won all the 87 seats,opposition party did not win any seats. There will still be 87 PAP voices,9 NCMP voices and 9 nominated MPs.87 vs 9+9=18. 87 vs 18 so there is 17% of the MPs not belong to PAP
