  • if you take a look at the scene at 0:34 Luis, Stans little girl, snubs Oliver. This was because she was upset at Ollie's treatment of her father in the movies. In the later movies Stan is seen to hit Ollie back thus making his little girl a bit happier.

  • You can see at the beginning how cute little Lois Laurel was still a little fwightened of Ollie :)

  • Sweet. Gosh weren't they just great?

    Thanks

    -Bill in Canada

  • Wolfgang Vock

  • Awesome videos! Who cannot love these great insights to the home life of a pure comic genius?

  • Thanks for posting. My grandson Stan, 5 years old, loves Stan and Ollie and watches their films on dvd and laughs and laughs.

  • voll süß wie sie nur zu ihrem Papa will:)

  • Some father!

  • at 10.13 - That's the guy who was the shop salesman who sold the piano to the wife in 'The Music Box'. I don't know the actors who worked on these films but I recognize him :D

  • A SIMPLE THANK YOU, FOR MAKING ME SMILE WHEN I FELT DOWN :-) 5*****

  • Nothing so wonderful as watching children playing so happily.

  • amazing

  • These were shot in the early 1930s, not 1938 as one poster claimed. Absolutely amazing to see. Many of the shots of Stan, Babe and Lois Laurel must have been on the Roach studio lot because the boys are in costume. Wonderful to see these.

  • 3.38- 4.32 the little girl on the right played eddies daughter in pack up your troubles didn't she?

  • @vince1433 That does look a lot like her. The actresses name was Jacquie Lyn. A lot of people mistakenly believe it was actually Stan's daughter who played the little girl, but it wasn't. Lyn was in a number of Hal Roach movies around that time.

  • Amazing. So crystal clear, what a treat.

  • Thank you. They always bring joy

  • Aww thats a wonderful movie :D. I miss these guys so much but they will live for ever in our hearts :D.

  • I love L&H so much I could watch even footage of the two guys painting a wall !!!

  • I loved the footage of Stan Laurel fishing, So great to see him into a fishy :P and his smile :)

  • Even the little 5 second bit where Stan is serving Ollie food was hilarious, I actually started laughing.

    Genius.

  • Lois Laurel is still alive, born in 1928.

  • The image in the begining of this video it's too clear and sharp to be a 16mm film from 30's. The film emulsion and small lens had not such precision in the 30's to allow a image quality like that for 16mm.

  • totally delightful! And lovely to see the boys' friendship come through in the candid shots. I believe they were pretty good friends all their working lives and their families were quite close too. I thought the music was nice, too.

  • What a joy Thank you for shae I have never seen this. The best to you from Earl

  • i actually have a copy of this on 16mm filmreel. parts of it have sound and some parts have silly music. i might make a videocopy and post it, although i should not out of respect for mister laurel

  • that was great to watch, thanks for sharing this.:)

  • thank you for this ! I've never seen it.I had the opportunity to see Lois Laurel in the mid-nineties at a BLOCKHEADS tent meeting in Minneapolis.

  • Thee Grandpappys of physical comedy. I have a special place in my heart for these two. I have always loved all of their movies and shorts, my favorite being "Babes in Toyland" There will never be anything like these two.

  • what a brilliant vid

  • Simply loved the home movies his daughter was so cute and she sure loved her Daddy

  • I didn't know the boys got on well of screen

    Nice to see

  • stan looked like a really good and fun dad! Ollie is basically a really cool uncle!

  • I love Stan and Ollie too. Got all their films!

  • You may notice that Stan's daughter Lois is incredibly shy around her Uncle Babe. This was due to her seeing him mistreat her father in so many films. This was the genesis of the ending scene in One Good Turn when Stan retaliates against Ollie. After that, Lois got along very well with him.

  • After listening to the sound track I'd have to agree, please change it. Where did you find such an annoying piece of music that goes for so long? aaaaaaahhhhhh!!!

Those toys would be worth a fortune now days. The car @ 8:25 is awesome. They obviously made a good deal of money from their work.

  • Two angels of our times

  • Oh this was fantastic DJMChicago, I never saw this one before. Thank you!!! Hey I agree with an earlier comment, the simple sound of a running movie projector as the background music would make this truly perfect.

  • (part 2)

The owners of the L&H Rights must have lost zillions by not airing the films, after the mid-'60s.

I too have copies of these home films. This uploading would have had better charm if the sound track were simply that of the sound of a running movie projector.

  • The idea of the sound of a movie projector as the soundtrack for this video is a great idea, and I wish I had thought of that. If I find such a sound file I might post an updated version of this video.

  • wow.never seen this before.laurel and hardy are,and wil always be comedy legends.

  • Nice video

    i love laurel and hardy

  • Thanks for your comment. I recently started watching their silent films, both as a duo and the earlier ones when they werre each on their own. They were two of the best ever!

  • @DJMChicago The plane at 4:03 was a gift from Uncle Babe. The little girl playing with her is Jaquelyn Dufton, who starred alongside Stan and Ollie in Pack Up Your Troubles. She was such a sweetheart.
