@youssef4380 because a taser is a better alternative to deadly force in many situations which deadly force would not be appropriate. Also, tasers usually work better that OC pepper spray. OC usually pisses someone off, normally a taser causes all muscles to lock up and the subject being tased cannot move.

I'm not an expert, but this appears to be more of a pistol shaped stun gun than a tazer. I thought tazers shot the electrodes out of them?

@sexxytimmy The only operational difference that I know of is the duration of the cycle. When the trigger is pulled, the police X26 cycles for 5 seconds, while the civilian X26c cycles for 10 seconds, plus another 10 seconds for each subsequent trigger pull for a maximum cycle of 30 seconds. There is also a restriction (imposed by TASER International) on which cartridges may be sold to civilians. Law enforcement uses two kinds of training cartridges. One is an inert cartridge (blue cartridge)...

TASER International sells only the 15' live training cartridges (yellow blast doors) to civilians.
