dennis is an idiot, sorry to say..he has so much talent, but his ego and all this circus act is horrible. it might have worked his first year on the mosconi, but now it is getting old, get over it dennis..more pool, less ego. be a sport
@kevycanavan really? i thought boring players taking unreasonably long and making the sport unwatchable for non-billiard playing fans was destroying the game.
I'd rather watch someone play well at their own pace. The beauty of the game is in the angles, not the speed.
They don't do it to make it more exciting to watch...they do it to appease the TV companies, to fit adverts in. There's no other sport that has to bend over like that.
@kevycanavan maybe so, but for a sport to be commercialized it must fit certain time restraints. in order for the sport to grow, which is obviously what theyre trying to do with pool and the mosconi cup, it must be standardized in some way. hockey has 3 periods of 20 minutes, basketball has four quarters. they cant televise live pool games if theyre going to take 3 hours. just my opinion of course, every professional sport has some form of standardized timing system.
They show a lot of snooker tournaments on the BBC. Sometimes the frames take up to 40 minutes to play and important matches will be allowed to run over into other show's schedules.
The long format of the game doesn't stop it being really popular and lots of people watch it every time it's on.
I don't know how much nervous Appleton was but, seriously I have to say this is the most disappointing performance I have ever ever seen of a professional player ... know how to control the nerves is part of being a professional player.
49:48 Dennis points at the cue ball with his cue like Darren scratched on the final 9 ball. Funny how Daz had to give it another look while celebrating. lol
After this match it's official - Jim Wych (regardless of him being a good player) is a terrible sports commentator. The comment he makes at 24:10 ... give me a break. He is getting really annoying at times.
@Valdinsh We'll throw you in the commentary booth during a live event. See if you can commentate for about 18 hours over the course of 4 days, and see if you don't make a single mistake.
Jim isn't perfect, but he's as exciting as it gets in professional pool. Until you find a better alternative for a color commentator, I suggest you be a little more respectful.
Actually I would greatly appreciate that. In fact I would love to be in Jim's place. I would love to commentate the games for whatever time needed. I hope that one day I will have the possibility to do that.
Mind I tell you that I did not say he made mistake nor consider that it was a mistake. I wold characterize that as a certain negligence.
Alternatives - the British commentator who was present in some matches was very good (made jokes as well). I would love to hear him more
@RunoutMedia that wasnt sid. sid is the worst pool commentator in history, i think he used to commentate for espn alongside jim wych, maybe still does it. the guy the poster before referred to is the guy whos also conducting the interviews. i think his name is andy goldstein, dont wanna browse the other videos to make sure.
btw loved ur first video magazine. just a shame that part 2 isnt available in germany due to sony copyrights.
@stevanmilk Thanks for the clarification and the compliments. As for part 2, if you go to the RunoutMedia website to the Video Magazine main page, click the "watch in HD" button and you can see a backup version that's not blocked in Germany.
@clayton1979 Please tell me Canada is not a part of America and everything is fine ...
Appleton certainly didn't earn that win, but it was really Hatch who put the last nail in his own coffin ... terrible way of shooting. But as soon as he pointed out where he wanted to be I knew he was going to overhit this ...
He also got some terrible shots before when he tried to play the 9 twice - he just hit and hoped.
@virgayL say what you want about how Hatch played mate, but to win the match, you still got to pot the balls under extreme pressure. Appleton certainly did earn this win, and it hurt the American team badly
@andyhounslow Yes, it hurt them badly. Yes, you have to pot the balls under extreme pressure and he already proved that he can do it without any fatal errors - that's why he was voted MVP ;) But you can't deny the fact that he played some terrible shots.
what a fucking audience is that! SHUT UP I WANNA WATCH THE GAME!

hatch played great, but made a mistake at 6:6 . at this condition, it was easy to finish the game for darren at this point.

hatch is the weakest link so far for team america.

@alaapoolvids Daz smashed his cue off the floor during his celebration, snapping it in half. Dennis was telling Daz, since he didn't notice.

at 26:08 you can tell its a clean hit. i disagree with the announcer. more concerned about his opinion then just concentrating on the replay.

Yeah, snookeram, you certainly did a great job with all of these mosconi uploads. Kudos for you, i appreciate it greatly.
