  • The Starship USS Enterprise NCC-1701 was the Second Ship of her Class as far as we know. The First ship of her Class ,The Starship USS Constitution NCC-1700 would have been the Prototype of their Class of Vessel. The Enterprise and her Crew would be working hard to live up to the Name of the First Ship and her Commander that together Started the Deep Space Mission Program. If Captain Kirk was Horatio Hornblower in space then the NCC-1700's Captain was like Captain Pellew. Hornblower's CO.

  • Star Trek 12 shoukd mention the New Adventurous Long Range Five Year Mission Program that the New Class of Ships are being Built to Accompish. Mention of the Founder of the 5 Year Mission Program would make Sense.

  • Jerry Bruckheimer should be the producer for the next Star Trek Movie, it's Director: WHoever directed the Bourne movies! (I think it was Paul Greengrass)

  • Worst Movie EVER. See my video Star Trek Origins: Kirk.

  • When Young James Kirk first sees the Enterprise, he is Looking at the Fortress that will Carry him and his Peers on their Journeys .As he is Not Yet Ready to Go Out There, so too is the Enterprise as she is being Prepared in her Crib to Carry Her Knights on Their Adventures. She is under Design and Development.

The Best Trek Characters are right out Of Horatio Hornblower and out of old English Shakespearean tales of Lore,Grandeur and Sacrifice. That is why they Endure.

  • Leonard Nimoy's voice comes out and I get actual shivers going down my spine.

  • best fucking reboot of ST ever...

  • @siliconsurf: It was okay. I think it was better than Star Wars Ep 1-3 anyways. I think they should have gone all original characters and not reusing old ones (especially when they changed actors).

  • @Mii85 fuck off with the original ones...

  • It was more like under re-construction

  • Wish someone stole me & traffik'd my bbody on the black market lol

  • This movie is awsome.

  • I kind of like the blurriness. It makes it seem,... well I can't really place what it seems like, but it's really cool!

  • It was a great movie, the only part I didn't like was launching the Enterprise. It was supposed to be built in space.

  • and kirks dad was supposed to be alive before hand

  • I didn't know that. Thanks.

  • The movie is supposed to be a parallel universe. Instead of kirks father living, he was killed protecting his family and the rest of the crew. Along with Spock meeting himself in the end of the movie

  • @HellHorizon01 Alternate universe, not parallel. Parallel would be a universe similar but different. The timeline was changed in the movie, so it's alternate.

  • "It was supposed to be built in space."

That was never actually proven, for the record.

  • I think they'll try to make it canon (like explaining why Sybok says "Faith, my friend. There's more of us than you know" by saying he's referring to the destruction of Vulcan prime, and the very few remaining Vulcans, and explaining why early Trek Vulcan is barren, without cities ((the original was destroyed)) ).

  • not to mention that any of such minor changes can be explained by simple explanation that "its all like that because of what Nero did".

Destruction of one ship can result in many unknown events taking place

  • haha Cloverfield

  • lol, i saw today. pretty good.

  • ha i hope it doesnt suck ballz

  • Go in my profile i have got the 4th NEW TRAILER (03/06/09)

  • looks pretty cool.

i'll probably check it out in theaters and rent it on VUDU when I get the chance.

there is a lot of hype behind the movie, which is good.

  • i liked them all other then the one where they tried to make that archer guy before kirk.. XD i jsut have to say kirk pawns!! XD lol...but so did picard

  • What a phantastic film!!!!

  • Ok girls, go change your tampons.

  • done

  • Good to know in the distant future we'll still need welders.

  • @rikkitikki82 it's a protected unionized profession...obama backs this kind of crap.

  • @rikkitikki82 LASER welders

  • i cant watch this video

    looking for friends n4

  • i am a person who haven't seen a single episode of any star trek tv shows.

but after hearing that people like simon pegg, eric bana, and john cho are in this one, along with this trailer, does make me want to go see this one and not think it might be lame.

  • First off, these people are not playing William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. They are playing Kirk and Spock. And this film should finally teach you all the lesson that Nimoy tried to get through to everyone for decades when he said "I am not Spock".

And OF COURSE it all looks different! Do yo0u honestly think the Enterprise looked like a 60's retro future? Think of this movie as Roddenberry's DIRECTOR'S CUT of the old series - it's the way it SHOULD have looked if the technology was available.

  • that's what george lucas said about star wars.

no one should screw with a classic.

  • I agree.

  • worst teaser traller ever.

  • Don't be fooled by the hype! This is nothing like the Star Trek that you know and something worse than simply updating Star Trek. The characters have been completely re-written and the timeline that we know, has been destroyed. Spock in attempting to stop the Romulans from destroying the Federation somehow, fails and the timeline that we know is completely obliterated! No more Star Trek! The look is only an approximation. Serious Star Trek fans are going to be horribly disappointed!

  • I'm looking forward to the movie and I'm looking forward to Leonard Nimoy and to Zach Quinto. But I can't get my head around why Kirk and Spock would be at the academy at the same time as Bones and Scotty, who are ten years older, and Sulu, Chekov and Uhuru, who are so much younger. I also, while knowing it's a petty fan thing, object to seeing someone with blue eyes playing Kirk - surely they could've got the guy some contacts, just for continuity's sake?

  • Very dispointing I would have hoped they would look forward to the future and break new ground. Nope they have chosen to show us a distored version of the past of what has allready occurred.. its easyer for a director to make a movie when he allready knows the plot and its been established.. its not when you make a new one

  • "its easyer for a director to make a movie when he allready knows the plot and its been established.. "

Plot? Okay fair game. Please tell us what the plot of the new movie is and you will tell us when in the original series it was ever shown. GO.

  • why do they have yoda say space the final frontier?

  • funny that was. silly you are.

  • Kirk was the 3rd captin of the Enterprise. after captin Robert Aprils and Captin Christopher Pike

  • Johnathan Archer was captain of the Enterprise long before Kirk was.

  • If you're going to state facts, state them accurately, according to the timeline, or not at all. According to the timeline, Archer captained the Enterprise about two generations after Cochran piloted the first warp-flight, piloting his father's warp engine drive. I grew up watching star trek; enjoying DS9 and Voyager, more than Original, TNG, and Enterprise. I loved plaguing Berman and Pillar with their errors in the Enterprise Chapter's Plotline. ROTFLMMFAO!

  • You are right but there are "people" who think they know better than the ones like us who actually pay attention to the timeline.

  • Yeah well, alot of people are fucking idiots, and give the human race a bad rap. LMMFAO!

  • That was a different ship dumass

  • No that was the enterprise

  • I can't wait for this movie.

To all people who says this movie will suck, they don't know nothing about the TOS.

One thing is Next Generation, DS9 and Voyager, and another thing totally different is The Original Series.

    I'm fan since 1985.

  • JJ ask William Shatner to be in this, but only in a cameo, he turned them down. SO in space U do come back from death.

  • Are you sure? I've heard plenty of whinging from Shatner about not even being asked.

  • well shatner would hav had part but he had arguement about his part cause he wanted to be kirks mentor, didnt happen so shatner said he wouldnt then when he changed his mind the director told him no

  • keep in mind the ONLY reason this teaser is even here is an announcement it has nothing to do with the actual movie the release date was even pushed back

  • I was actually a little disapppointed the real teaser wasn't all flickery like this. I thought it was kind of a cool effect.

  • No interest, and no way it would help kick back up the franchise.

  • cool i can't wait :D

  • y dont they just make so voyager movies

  • "They tried it with the series Enterprise and that was a lame duck."

Okay, so Enterprise is set in the future. Has the same exact stories to it. It's no longer a lame duck? No correlation between when the show took place and its time frame. People said Voyager was a lame duck and it was in the future.

  • Do your homework buddy. Rick Berman's not involved.

Why hunt out the clip if you don't like it?

  • I hate how the postponed the date for the movie till next year !! Blah. But I'm still so excited!!

  • The welder guy? Kahn?

  • So the movie is about when kirk was young? I think they should make a movie after TNG. Like with timeships and stuff

  • It starts from Post-Nemesis and goes back (not a flashback.) It's up to the start of the 5 year mission.

  • So it was kind of hard to see but it looks like they were building the ship. Please tell me that's not all this movie is about.

  • Yes, they are investing $150 Million Dollars into making a movie about building the Enterprise. Yep.

  • so it is litle stupid for me to start new story know and one more thing i hate when they go back we should go forwar the did generations now yhey need to go in time after generetions and not going back again to time when kirk was young they did sam with batman they made 4 movies and then they mad batman begins and they made again film with joker and 2 face and batmen already killed them in first few movies i dont understand why do they do that

  • ????? So the 1989 Batman is better than the 2009? I'm very confused. ?????

  • i dont like just one thing about new star trek movie tos ended with deatdh of kirk in 7th movie and the story with new generations didi not ended in nemesis

  • if your not happy with the TEASER and don't like the concept of the film then don't go see it, simple as. no one's forcing you. who cares if it's not canonically correct, you watch a film to be entertained not to scrutinise over every little detail. the film has been made to attract a broader audience for a franchise with a declining fanbase. Paramount is a business whos' sole purpose is to make films to make money, more people going to see it = more money, live with it

  • the new movie just doesn't look as good as the new game, come see the game trailer it is at my channel under Star Trek Online:)

  • HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA.

  • Star Trek XI: Let's hope we do a better job than the Star Wars Prequels

  • we will

  • On last report, this movie will debut on May 8, 2009.

  • OMG!!!!!!!

  • Trek is like a philosophy class; Wars is like a mythology one. Star Wars has a bit of science, but it's really much more like the Greek Myths and King Arthur than it is like Asimov's works, or any of the other Sci-fi writers. It's setting, in the future, is really just to get it off of Earth, just like LOTR takes place in "Middle Earth." That way, with no connections to existing geographical and political ties and boundaries, the storyteller can emphasize the sotry's morals.

    I like both :D

  • STAR WARS!!! WOOOT!!!

  • Always cheeply put together, Star Trek is far more successful, than Star Wars.

  • Let's see -- two of the five ST series were canceled after three seasons, and only TNG was successful on TV. None of the ST movies came close to matching any of the SW movies at the box office.

  • For clarification, Enterprise made it to 4 seasons.

  • "Always cheeply put together, Star Trek is far more successful, than Star Wars."

Maybe in a galaxy far far away...

  • At least Star Trek took place in this galaxy.

Its true, Lucas never spent a lot on his movies.

  • You said it yourself. He managed to make a masterpiece with as little money as possible.

    fyi I like both...

  • Yea, well, I have heard many times, here and there, Star Trek was the technical, and Star Wars was the fireworks. Star Wars ships etc, are so unrealisty, unimaginably big.

  • i don't even understand why people compare those two. Pretty much everything about them is different. Is it just because both are science fiction?

  • Yea, but Star Trek has the realism aside from a few things, Star Wars, things are just way to out their.

Actually Star Trek is on its way to becoming "more" Science Fact, Stephen Hawking, is working on the workings of the warp drive. He was a guest star on one of the TNG episodes, and as they went past the warp core on his tour, he said "I am working on that".

  • LOL! no way! really?

  • yes.

  • Hey bitch, scientists are working on creating Star Trek like technology, and its already been applied to many of your everday uses, the flip phone, the man who designed the flip phone based it on the TOS communicator, the iPod is based on the PADD from TNG, for its capablilty to store large amounts of information in a small package.

  • You don't seriously think that if it hadn't been for ST, there would be no flip-phones or iPods? ST extrapolated on existing trends toward miniaturization of electronics, it didn't provide any groundbreaking insights on how this could be done.

  • Uh, well, seeing how the guy that designed the flip phone says, thats where he got the idea, same thing from the designer of the iPods, um yea. Umm, you should watch shows about Star Trek technology, and its impact on pop culture.

  • And you shouldn't believe everything you see on TV. Aside from the fact that they flipped open, the communicators have little in common with flip phones. The part that flipped up was just a cover with no speaker or screen in it, it wasn't designed to be held against the head as flip phones are, and it functioned more like a walkie talkie than a phone.

And if you think no one was trying to store large amounts of data on small devices before TNG, I've got a bridge to sell you.

  • I said the design, not the inner workings, duh.

  • Haven't you gotten anything better to do than to criticize the fans?! Why don't you go watch a soap opera moron!

  • me, or AssBuiscuits24?

  • soon we're gonna find out how lucky J.J. in the box office-world

  • JJ is the most overrated producer in the whole hollywood. yeah, Lost is an awesome tv show but cloverfield & MI3 was kinda crap.

  • I posted mine, It's an HD Teaser :P

  • ya lo he visto antes y con mejor calidad.

  • Dumbass alert! why wuld any1 read ur crap.

  • ROFLOL!!!!!!

  • I cannot tell if this will be a good movie or not. They are not showing anything. This is a very bad trailer.

  • It's a teaser, not a trailer. Get with it ;)

  • Bah, no thanks.

I'm a big Star Trek fan (of the original series), new actors in classic roles defined, defined by the likes of William Shatner and DeForest Kelly, I don't think so.

This is corporate whoring at it's finest. Real sci-fi fans will be looking forward to something new, as everything retrogrades if it does not advance.

  • WORD. I agree totally with you. They really should just give it a rest out of respect for Roddenberry's original dream and quit trying to beat a dead horse. ST was such a fantastic series and they just let it all go to shit. Seriously, read the books that were written during the 70's 80's 90's...Final Frontier by Diane Carey is what the travesty that was "Enterprise" should have been...I am a diehard fan and I will not break any ankles to see this film.

  • "They really should just give it a rest out of respect for Roddenberry's original dream"

That's B.S. You don't know what he wanted if that's what you think.

".I am a diehard fan and I will not break any ankles to see this film."

Can you please provide us in great detail what's wrong with the movie, the script, and how I can preview the film? Because obviously "Roddenberry's dream" would include open mindedness. So don't wait, tell us, NOW.

  • Just read your little post.. all I can say is "Bah, no thanks" to you.

You have little clue what you're even talking about.

  • Oh I have little clue what I'm talking about but ALMIGHTY you have managed to sum up your position so succinctly right? I know exactly what I'm talking about; you on the other hand have expressed no intelligent thought what-so-ever. Congratulations I think are in order for your first successful lobotomy dumbass. You should take your post, face a mirror and repeat it to yourself over and over again until your hypocrisy sinks in.

  • You've deflected the issue. Good job. If you knew what you were talking about you would back it up, you didn't.

  • As opposed to you who never had anything to say in the first place. Congrats on your second successful lobotomy chowderhead. Here, have a cookie.

  • Still deflecting the issue. Back up your point.

  • There is that, but if you think about I am sure that given the technology available and resources that they would have liked to create something this, and until they can invent time machines or age reduction, you're gonna need new actors. I will give it a chance, but like you I am dissapointed. I would have liked a film where TNG hands over to some new generation.

  • i cannot wait either..

but i still miss william shatner.. and ofcuz our original scotty and mcoy.. the original actors will be nice.. but well.. i still want to see the movie anyway

  • i cannot wait...i was raised on star trek.

i expect some things. don't use spocks voice unless you mean business...and keep the trekkie heart in your ambition

  • cant wait to see how theyll get this thing into space in 1 piece!

  • I remember all the hard-core James Bond fans were freaking out because Daniel Craig was casted to play Bond in Casino Royale and it turned out to be the best Bond film in decades. Relax. Maybe Abrams will be able to breathe some fresh life into the franchise. Obviously it was getting a little stale.

  • I mean seriously don't blame me if I'm nervous this guy is directing the Star Trek movie. its just like if he screw this up I believe this saga wont have a sequel in like 10 years....

  • Rick Berman screwed up the franchise before hand. Only way to go but up from here.

  • you can tell it will already suck ass and change the story line cuz in the trailer the enterprise is being built on earth. all federation starships were built on the moon or a shipyard orbiting earth. fucking jj abrams already changing the fucking story. beware fans this will suck dick and drive the final in the coffin that is the star trek legacy.

  • "you can tell it will already suck ass"

    No.

"all federation starships were built on the moon"

    What????

    "r a shipyard orbiting earth."

So how many ships did we ever see being built in Earth's orbit? None.

Also can you prove that the Enterprise WASN'T built on Earth? Or what proof can you provide that this ship will not under go final assembly in space? You can't. Because you don't know what you're talking about.

  • "So how many ships did we ever see being built in Earth's orbit? None."

Oh wait, we did see the Columbia.. that's one whole whopping ship.

  • fuck jj abrams. i bet this movie will suck ass and will be disgrace to the star trek franchise. and by pushing it till may 09 it will raise expectations and make people go out because it must be shitty and they think people wont go see it if they show it in december. fucking prequels. thats all these bullshit writers and directors do now is prequels. as an avid star trek fan i think it will suck dick buy i hope i will be proven wrong. it already looks like shit cuz you see the enter

  • The villian is crack cocaine.

  • call me A Pepper Game is a warm-up exercise in which players standing a short distance from a batter field the ball and toss it to the batter, who hits each toss back to the fielders.

Because players stand VERY CLOSE to the batter, there is a chance that an inexperienced fan playing the game could be hurt by a batted ball. It should only be played by experienced players who have quick reflexes.

  • neat

  • watch?v=lpBLnfuvTB4

  • Just a note to remember the make up artist, Richard Snell.

Rest In Peace, darling. I love you.

  • the villian is Nero i cant wait to see this movie

  • At first I thought there should have been a Voyager movie.. where they got lost even more.

But then I realized they'd have no chance of getting home unless Q snapped his fingers and flung them back into the galaxy! So what about a movie about a starship 1500 years into the future? No, it would be so heavily armed that just touching the shields would blow you up, it wouldn't get that interesting after they can just go zap and the problem's solved... Have a movie with the Borg!

  • i have an idea for a next film

an invasion on the Federation.....by the Terran Empire!

  • I felt a shiver up my spine the first time I watched this and heard Nimoy's voice.

  • Star Trek geeks unite. Woo hoo!!!!

  • heh, i already have this downloaded on my 360

im interested to know what the villain in the one is. id also like a cameo with one of the actors of the other seriess'. even if its a small one, maybe one over the intercom, idc. but still, everyone loves a good prequel

  • "im interested to know what the villain in the one is."

    Nero, a Romulan.

  • ah, thank u

  • J.J Abrahms is directing it? Awesome! BTW Acr0n1, good job actually getting a REAL trailer on here instead of a shitty fan made one.

  • "J.J Abrahms is directing it? "

    Yes.

  • Starts May 2009 ... whoooop...I hope it will be good, even if only Leonard Nimoy is playing in the movie. No next generation, no Kirk and co. But Winona Ryder *uaarg*

  • The original enterprise was built on earth at the San Francisco dock yards. The movie reflects that.

I cannot believe so many here have said how does it get from earth to space. FFs..use your head. Does Anti gravity ring a bell.

Stop questioning everything and get a life and enjoy the movie. Why the fark does everything fantastic get disected piece by piece because it's fantasy. Like i said...some people have no life so get one and enjoy it...you only live once...jeez.

  • Utopia Planetia gets much mention in later shows. Where does that shipyard come into the Star Trek timeline? Anyone know?

  • From whats written on the Memory Alpha wiki site, it was stated in an episode of Enterprise that Utopia Planitia was was built around 2069 and its located on Mars. The Fleet yards were most likely built around the same time.

  • I just want three things from XI:

-More Chekov, he's my favorite, please give him a line that doesn't have to do with computer systems, let us have "wessels." ;)

-A glimmer of hope for a GOOD crossover in XII. If Spock is coming from Picard's era, why not let the NCC-1701-E come next time? Burton and Sirtits, I know, want another shot, so maybe just send a few, but give TNG a good sendoff, don't let Nemesis be the last thing I see of them.

-PLEASE BE GOOD! Don't kill the franchise...

  • "If Spock is coming from Picard's era,"

What if Spock is coming 10 or 20 years after Picard's time? All we know is that it's post Nemesis. The next movie will be a TOS movie so we'll likely see something in that era rather than time travel.

  • -PLEASE BE GOOD! Don't kill the franchise...

paramount already signed on for another, so it must be good.

  • see youtube, has lots of people of opposition from each other, and they argue too much in comments.

  • So u saw Cloverfield

  • Startrek came up with the tech for simple reasons.

Noise in space - It'd be a dull show without it

Transporters - save on SFX moving people about.

"Subspace" comms - hardly a gripping storyline if Kirk is about to be killed and has to wait 6 months for a reply to his "help" call.....

For christ sake people, get a life... it's just a TV show! ;)

  • So wait, you mean they actually do all of these things because it's supposed to be an entertainment show and not because it's a lesson on science?

Hear that Ettrick? Welcome to what Star Trek has been for 40 years.

  • i think you're all missing the point people....

It may be a starship set in the future bit the primary FACT is this...... IT'S A SMEGGING FILM for crying out loud. The technology isn't practical now because we don't have it. Who know what will be around in 3 or 4 hundred years.

  • Yes its a film but image if people have been folloing something for decades and some guy comes along and starts rewriting it. For many us orginal fans William Shatner is Captain Kirk.

Also practically the teaser is all so wrong at least Roddenbury tried to make it appear realistic

  • "Also practically the teaser is all so wrong"

No it isn't, as you haven't fully explained yet.

"at least Roddenbury tried to make it appear realistic"

No. Not sure why you are pinning it all down to Roddenberry as though he came up with every single idea when he didn't. But I'm sure if Gene came up with the idea to have the Enterprise built on earth (which actually I believe it was mentioned he did in one of the original writer's books) you would be saying it would be a brilliant idea.

  • Are you blind? As a working environment its dangerous. Workers will have burns and what idiot is working 10' from a sheer drop on a smooth surface without barriers or harness to protect them. I know from your earlier posts your quite happy to keep old under developed technology then you will be quite happy living in the 23rd century that uses old and dangerous 19th century working practices

  • "you will be quite happy living in the 23rd century that uses old and dangerous 19th century working practices"

    Missing the analogy again.

  • +5 for the red dwarfage

  • You guys aren't getting it...! This one is for the "X"'ers! Paramount has always been ahead of the loop...if not for them, the original Star Trek would have never existed! The 35 to 45 year olds NEED this movie....And I have a feeling that they are going to surpass MY expectations...chuck

  • Actually it was Desilu studies that orginally Star Trek not Paramount. Will it have an age limit on this film like no one over 40 to watch it

  • I just hope that this travesty is deleted before they distribute it in the cinema. FRom this teaser it is apparent that they do not know they ST history

  • And I don't think you know what you're talking about. So what is it they got wrong historically?

  • i cant wait

ive got butter flys in my bellie

even though im only 11 my mum and dad let me watch the wrath of khan witch is 15+
