  • Interesting the whole piece is played within 3 frets of each other !

    great sound

  • Very nice phrasing, it sounds a lot like Al Petteway's version.

  • When I get a freakin' ad I just mute the volume and don't purchase whatever they're selling. Pass this idea along if you like.

  • @catman605 adblock plus. Pass this idea if you like

  • In case you don't get it, I got hit with an ad for some movie called Black Swan when I wanted to listen to this!

  • Fuck Black Swan, I just wanted to hear this beautiful guitar playing!!

  • very good, i have been looking for a good version of this. thanks

  • Gorgeous playing - abnd also gorgeous tone. Would like to know what guitar and equipment you were using there.

  • I beleive it's going to market

  • Where's that little finger going? Not to the fair by the looks of it...

  • The whole "White Summer" thing has always been controversial...it would have been so much better if Jimmy had not claimed he wrote it....

  • Gorgeous is a good word to describe that for sure. Like the green eyes of a beautiful Irish girl or just the sound of her voice. Its a very beautiful tune and well played because not everyone can convey that beauty they way you did.

  • That is gorgeous! Do you have the sheet music/tab for that?

  • That is gorgeous!

  • Absolutely beautiful and haunting at the same time. Awesome

  • Wonderful

  • follow that!

  • superb !

  • This is great! and it also makes me think that only a mind like Jimmy Page could have turned this piece around and make it sound Indian. Critics can say what they want but he was far ahead of his time.

  • @kidzsanlorenzo you need to look up Davey Graham, he invented DADGAD for this tune in the late 50's and early 60's and he inspired Bert Jansch and John Renbourn Paul Simon and many others - Jimmy Page copied this from Davey Graham and also copied Black (Water) Mountainside from Bert Jansch - he is at liberty to do so as they are both traditional pieces and you cannot own an arrangement but he lowered himself when he claimed or failed to acknowledge the origin of the tunes on his albums

  • sounds great, i love this song

  • Great, I like it. I Thought you might be interested in my arrangement for dobro! (attached as a video response) its also in DADGAD tuning.

  • Very nice. Enjoyed that.

  • great soul m8

  • Beautiful...

  • too much! Soulful eh?

  • this is fantastic.

  • Michael, This is phenomenal !!!

  • I feel like a douche asking for tabs, but can anybody help me out on this one? I can get about 12 seconds into the song before he gets to all the hammer-ons on the bottom A&D strings... (B&E) It's taking me forever, lol

  • Seth,

Did anyone ever respond to your request for tabs?

  • No, I just started doing my own thing after it took me like 45 minutes to get 12 seconds into the song... I looked everywhere online for the tabs, but I found nothing.

    Good luck to you

  • Seth,

Thanks for getting back to me. I am thinking of just getting back into lessons. Maybe easier.

    Mike T

  • could anyone tell me what fret is the capo is on?

  • 4th fret

  • wonderfully enchanting. thanks!

  • Wonderfull! :)

  • There's just one name that comes to mind when you hear 'She moved through the fair' and 'DADGAD' mentioned in the same breath - and that's Davy Graham.

This version is far more gentle and lyrical than Davy's fiery version, but it's really beautiful. It's a shame he won't get to hear it.
