  • Spirit is death from 2004 !Is top Secret information !

  • is it me or does the music kinda sounds like from Mass Effect. (Prothean ruins maybe.)

  • same with me...i also like spirit more than opportunity....i dont know why.

  • more than seven years on Mars now! and they thought it would only last 90 sols wow!

  • FIRST!!!!!

  • very very nice. and NASA, remember my name VINAY S C. iwill be coming to nasa

  • is the mars rover still on mars right now...

  • @m1k3y0011 yes

  • i wanna see NASA come up with rovers made of carbon fiber and some other high tech materials capable of exploring Venus for a brief time. the Soviets were able to plant probes on the surface of Venus that survived for very brief moments decades ago. we should be able to do better now, if we can get around the high temperature and crushing pressure.

  • I would love it if next they explore Olympus Mons and Valles Marineris with new faster powerful rovers

  • i'm with ya there...that would be amazing.

  • lucky the american and nasa build this for the entire world too see

  • little miss perfect

  • WALL -E LOL

  • i hope she will survive

  • people do aliens live there

  • that is so cool

    the real walle

  • So, they're goal why they've sent Rover: Spirit is to find rock (or other) evidences of water in Mars.

  • gogo spirit u can do it!

  • i am so watching it!

  • THEY SHOULD SWITCH TO OPPORTUNITY CUZ ITS BETTER TWO TEAMS WORKIN ON OPPORTUNITY THAN ONE TEAM. AND ALSO THEY LANDED ON A BARREN DESERT PART OF MARS KINDA LIKE A DESERT LIKE SAUDI ARABIA . I MEAN ITS ALL DESERT ANYWAYS BUT THAT PART MARS IS MORE OF A DESERT LIKE LESS PRODUCTIVE wen it comes to finding stuff.

  • eventually Spirit found evidence of water :)

it wasn't a loss after all

  • oh serious eh!? i guess I shouldn't underestimate.

  • I wonder what would happen if NASA sent water and bacteria to Mars.

  • very good question!

  • if you cant FIND water and bacteria... then PUT water and bacteria there and find out what happens..

    awesome idea 99maic

  • I love you. I wish everyone was into Astronomy. :( Everyones to busy watching porn and getting high. Sadness. . . .

  • well for gods sake... i love robots and i love space... perfect mix... its my kind of "porn"

  • Ha Ha! Best reply comment ever!

  • no real atmosphere on mars, so even if the bacteria lived in the water it would die out eventually, especially since there is no food for the bacteria.

hope you weren't expecting some sort of evolution event lol. evolution is a false theory and even if it did work, it would take billions and billions of years... u would never know the outcome.

    :( sorry

  • Thanks for your input, but your view on science is false.

  • no. science is science. my view of it is perfect. evolution is NOT science, it has been passed off as science and there is a reason for it, but i doubt you will believe truth since your view of science is off by BELIEVING in the religion of evolution.

  • Whatever you say.

  • Are you guys arguing about evolution, or about the origin of life? Hate to burst your bubble, but the theory of evolution is firmly rooted in scientific studies, it's not fiction (or religion). And it doesn't actually posit much about the origin of life at this point...it's concerned with how life changes over time through mutation and natural selection.

  • Your opinion doesn't skew reality. This is why we aren't really annoyed by what you have to say. I love how you not knowing the mechanism of natural selection, means that evolution didn't happen. How about you learn how it works, then comment on it. If you truly took a class on evolution you wouldn't be trying to falsify it. Stop bringing your filthy religious views into science. The Earth revolves around the Sun, and it isn't the center of the Universe. Just a reminder of past religious views.

  • That's the funniest thing I've ever read anyone write. I love satire.

  • Actually certain bacteria can evolve within weeks. Pay attention in biology class next year. Also the evolution of those bacteria are fully document and were produced in labs. Physical documented evidence my friend. I major in biology. If you would like me to give you a presentation on evolution I will gladly fly my cessna to wherever you live. :)

  • i would love that, but i think you are full of hot air.

but before you waste to money on fuel, make sure you don't waste our time. let's talk macro-evolution and not just adaptation within a species.

we all know adaptation within a species is fact. but the idea of one species evolving into another is just lunacy.

  • Yes, the idea of Adam evolving straight from sand is just lunacy. I haven't done a cross country flight in a few months. It would be worth the fuel cost. Besides I could use the hours. I'm just curious why your trying to talk about evolution, if you have no idea how it works? The universe isn't subject to your understanding of it. I could teach you, but it would be much easier for you to just start researching it for yourself. You haven't yet. If you had, you wouldn't hold such opinions.

  • "Yes, the idea of Adam evolving straight from sand is just lunacy"

get the story straight: God formed Adam from the dust of the earth and BREATHED life into him

i have studied evolution enough to know that it doesn't have a leg to stand on. everything that it claims as support could just as well support creation as defined in Genesis

  • Genesis doesn't support the millions of extinct animals. Nor does it support the fact that many animals today do not have any fossil evidence for them existing during the Triassic, Jurassic, or Cretaceous periods. In my opinion, there is no argument here.

  • P.S. You opinions are formed from simply not knowing enough about the subject. That is all.

  • You keep assuming that evolution somehow disproves your god. I'm telling you to except the science and keep your god. Your god doesn't want you denying how he/she does their work.

  • The proof is widely available. Once again, your personal incredulity is constructing your reality of the Universe. You assume because you haven't struck upon convincing evidence that somehow the evidence doesn't exist. I'm sorry you approach science this way. You ask for proof with the same mouth that shouts,"faith is sufficient evidence." How about I use your tactics. (I know evolution happened because I prayed about it. I don't need proof, I have faith.) Doesn't that sound silly?

  • "Three species of wildflowers called goatsbeards were introduced to the United States from Europe shortly after the turn of the century. Within a few decades their populations expanded and began to encounter one another in the American West. Whenever mixed populations occurred, the specied interbred (hybridizing) producing sterile hybrid offspring."

  • ..Suddenly, in the late forties two new species of goatsbeard appeared near Pullman, Washington. Although the new species were similar in appearance to the hybrids, they produced fertile offspring. The evolutionary process had created a separate species that could reproduce but not mate with the goatsbeard plants from which it had evolved."

Speciation for ya. From talkorigins. If only you are capable of doing research.

  • Hope they can do it

  • Leeward of Olympus Mons there is a Hard rock Cafe with electricity and gorgeous hostesses.

You guys really need a break. I suggest Earth.

  • LOL WTF

  • And don't forget that Spirit must also defeat the Sludge Monster and it's Ice Scorpion minions waiting for it at the top of the mountain.

  • wall e.hehe

  • i hope she can make it

  • where's the rest of it? =/

  • hes like wall-e

  • get the word out there

    /watch?v=tWWfDx6-9xs&feature=related

  • JPL / NASA is the best high technology spacecrafts for outer space than ussr russia..

ussr russia is a poor low technology spacecrafts and not good outer space at all..

america spacecraft is a still good far far farther away more than ussr russia..

ussr russia is a near short away and lost it

  • i give props to the people working in these stuff.

  • Wow...thats amazing! Good luck to the Spirit team.

  • 3244:1342

  • you can do it spirit!

  • 4:00

  • 5555:0001

  • 4:00

  • Good luck :)

  • 1:56

  • lol that new feature, the time thingy, is awesome :D

  • how do you do that?

  • wow that robot is awesome to think that robot is solar powered 0.0

  • For those of us without TVs, this is just a tease. :p

  • lol 4:41

  • there is no 4:41 dumbfuck

  • well no shit, u stupid cock

  • 2:43

  • Actually it would be a miracle but its possible that robot "survive".

  • LOL! 3:14

  • what is that?

  • i want a rover

  • dam i rember when they landed and they were hoping they wouldnt break past a week now look at them

  • absolutley amazing!

  • Go Go Spirit!

  • damn at 4:40 i didnt want it to end...

  • Wow. :)

  • instead of a ruite cat they just go round it???????????

  • 1) the hill will probably block the sun and they are low in sunlight anyway

2)they dont want to go around it, they are going to top

    3)you spelt route wrong

    4)i sound like a tosser

  • They wouldn't get power...

  • nice people check me and moe the update out

  • cant wait for this to air on the 2nd

  • this is really cool!

  • cool

  • Its kida wild that we have a robot on mars!

  • 11th!

  • If they can't tilt it to receive enough sun/solar power to keep going for the winter, I assume it will be sitting there until (Mars spring) again, then be able to wake up and keep going as it has for years now?...

  • it could die during winter...

  • how they actually control the rover??

that is reli sum impressive connection

  • As far as I know, they tell it where to go and the rover finds its own way with _A LOT_ of safety checks first. The rover probably double-checks its inteded route with mission control though.

I really hope they can pull this one off. According to Wikipedia, mars' seasons are nearly twice as long..

  • i hate these clips.. they get me hooked and at the last second they cut u off :(

  • I want my own solar powered rover lol

  • i would love to ride it lol

  • Very interesting video !

  • holy..

  • awesome

  • Awesome
