You conjecture with no evidence. Trying on the robes of another culture when one is a guest of a member of that culture is a gesture of courtesy, not a sign of conversion. It is also true that most Muslims are not fundamentalists, any more than most Jews or Christians are fundamentalists. Try to think of Obama as having experienced multiple cultures, but essentially American. Also, fundamentalist Muslims wouldn't deny their faith for years on end, pretending to be Xian, so that's unlikely.

When it comes to Gitmo, Obama is advocating for shutting down the prison because it is essentially in a legal black hole. Even Defense Sec. Gates is for shutting down the prison. But simply shutting down the prison does not mean releasing those held in it.
