  • You've got to be taking the piss right?

  • @MrJenkosMaximos it says it in the name!

  • I'm American ( UK's Stepson) but, damnit, Alan (and Monty Python) are HILAROUS!!! Damn it. HILARIOUS.

  • But with bow tie-shaped pasta.

  • i like this music in the back...

  • Five stars!

I think one or two Gary Numan fans are a bit peeved by this track being used in this scene.

    Disgusting- absolutely disgusting! ;-)

  • "We're from the Inland Revenue"

    "No you're not"

Don't know why but that makes me laugh

  • One of the greatest static home moments..

ALAN "was that a snub nosed uzi?"

LYNN "Yes...yes I think it was"

    so random but funny.

  • ah you cut out the second funniest line from this scene - 'He doesn't avoid tax, he only evades tax.. oh i got that the wrong way round..'

oh and shit chatting - i use that a lot, whenever i go o0ff on a tangent...

  • timeless classic comedy, i can watch all alans stuff all day long......cashback....

  • pure genius. I laugh out loud every time I see the Air Bass moment.

  • I want another series!!

  • Have I got another series?

    ....Yoooooooou people!!!!

  • The best comedy character ever created, by a country mile. Fucking genius Alan. I love you.

  • Dennis Pennis was cool too

  • @uuFabio you do wonder how this guy isnt more famous than that brent cross comedian lol

  • Well mimed, I thought.....

Lynne these people are from Stoke!

  • The only thing that spoils this is the shitty laughter track

  • He's still holding on to the headstock LOL.

Then takes it off at 43 secs. Classic.

  • The actress that plays 'Katherine' - the thinner Inland Revenue officer - is one of the lasses from '2up2down' (Peter Kay's XFactor spoof) and she was also in an episode of Phoenix Nights as an undercover officer from the DSS (I think though not fully sure) to find out whether Brian Potter was actually disabled.

  • yeah that was her, shes in loads of stuff....

  • I'm shit chatting...chit chatting

  • Chit shatting

  • Text book

  • Where's the other one? Where's the other pig??

  • the music at the end makes me want to commit heinious crimes

  • i lold and agreed, very annoying

  • 'you can call me al' by paul simon?

    annoying?

    fools . . .

  • its annoying cos its basically on every alan video on youtube and have basically nothing to do with it.

and yes, dots with spaces is annoying too

  • what. . .?

  • on one of the menu screens on the series 2 I'm Alan Partridge DVD, you can watch him play air bass to this song for as long as you like on a massive loop.

  • yup it's awesome, and when you switch in the menu he does a spin

  • i once spent 6 months doing just that

  • Love the way he takes the "air bass" off when the women arrive!

  • cash back!

  • I've heard that there might be a movie in the pipeline based on the Die Hard movie where Alan uses his knowledge of Bond to defeat the terrorists.

    Lovely stuff !!!

It's just a rumour but I hope there is at least a hint of truth to it!

  • you are an idiot

  • What role did Coogan have in the development of Gervais's comedy style ?

  • I think it was just that-I'm Alan Partridge-had a similar sort of fly on the wall documentary style that Gervais adopted for the office.

Although that said,I think the office was also inspired by an actual documentary about an office that was quite popular on British TV before the office came out.

Oh and of course they both had a cringe worthy(But wonderfully funny)central charactor!

  • u know nothing u irish/jewish cunt hat hardon

  • I'm not too sure if there is such a thing as an Irish Jew.

are you sure you've thought this through?

  • this is the best comedy series ever, i can watch those shows over and over ans i keep finding more bits funny, a masterpiece

  • Hello,my names...Graham...classic

  • is that Mick Karn's fretless bass-line in that Numan song ?

  • yeah it is. great track as well.

  • No. It's Pino Palladino, who also played base for Paul Young on Wherever I Lay My Hat (among others).

  • He puts down the imaginary bass guitar!!!

  • i'm seeing steve coogan in melbourne too! yay! :)

  • In two weeks time I am seeing Steve Cooghan live in Melbourne Australia. I am sooo excited about it. I would love to chat to anyone who has seen Steve live. I bet it was fantastic. Alan is my favorite character but they are all brilliant. The bass air guitar is the first scene i ever saw of Alan Partridge and I was addicted from then. The cow episode is fantastic. Im wondering about what other people's favorite episodes are. LOve to hear. Thanks

  • I've seen him live, I hate to break it to you, but he's lost it. It wasn't brilliant. It was decent, admittedly, ut just not as genius as he usually is. My favourite episode is where Alan goes back to his old school.

  • I loved all of the Alan Partridge episodes and would find it near impossible to choose a favourite but I do have a few favourite bits.

To name but a few -the Bancock chick boys stuff was brilliant(on my mates birthday we ordered a round of "Lady Boys")the love making scene with the chocolate moose was classic!

last but by no means least the south african chap(Pylro-dec-neeks)and the dodgy table.

    I could(but thankfully wont)go on all day!!

    Oh of course the "Mentalist"bit!!

    Total comedy genius!!

  • Oh of course the" DAN! " bit!

Sorry I'd better stop now or I'll become even more

tiresome than I am already being........

Infected spinal collum in a bap...............

  • you are so right, it is nearly impossible to choose a favourite but the ones you mentioned are right up my street...the whole episode with Dan was just awesome, esp their first meeting at the bp garage..."in off the red" :)

and the bits with the builders are great too..."seen the match?" "which one" "dunno" lol

  • oh and ...sorry forgot, the one where he visits his old school and the scene later with his "old enemy" at the bp again "remove yourself from the theatre of conflict...go and stand by the yakults!!!"

  • Bottom line.....it was all funny as fuckin fuck !!

I'm gonna have to have a partridge night with some mates soon !!

  • Cashback!

  • Kiss my face!

  • Jurassic Park!

  • Back of the net!

  • Jackanackanory!

  • spiceworld!

  • As sketchybeans said you might be in or already have had a bit of a let down. I saw Steve in November and it was dire. By no means a universal view so go anyway but dont be as gutted as we were.

  • AllRiseForDrEvil.

    Agree 100%.

    Genius comedy!

  • you missed valuable seconds leading upto it....

  • Definitely, need to see previous two minutes

  • Over 259,000 views tells you just how loved Partridge is!

Steve Coogan is a comedy genius.
