The discovery of Alan Partridge and cannabis led me to breathless laughing fits when I was about 16. However these days just Alan on his own does the trick. Timeless, legendary. If I ever have children, this will be their visual bible.
i love that phrase..a partridge among the pigeons..it sums up alan very well....oh and theres an executive motor inn near where i shop.im tempted to go in and be him with me mates.order a round of ladyboys.cheers alan.i hope you get your show back .those guys at the bbc..twats to use commonspeak .yoyu have fans al..big al.
I sold this Mikita cordless power drill in the local paper, and then 6 months later, i received the very same one back as a christmas present from my brother in law, minus the power pack...I see, so you uh, the the present you gave away you then got back...yeah, thats it, g'bye.
Classic Partridge! I love how Alan puts his air bass back on its stand: just like Dougal McGuire does in "Father Ted" after some impromptu Tina Turner "The Best" riffs.
The actress that plays 'Katherine' - the thinner Inland Revenue officer - is one of the lasses from '2up2down' (Peter Kay's XFactor spoof) and she was also in an episode of Phoenix Nights as an undercover officer from the DSS (I think though not fully sure) to find out whether Brian Potter was actually disabled.
on one of the menu screens on the series 2 I'm Alan Partridge DVD, you can watch him play air bass to this song for as long as you like on a massive loop.
I think it was just that-I'm Alan Partridge-had a similar sort of fly on the wall documentary style that Gervais adopted for the office.
Although that said,I think the office was also inspired by an actual documentary about an office that was quite popular on British TV before the office came out.
Oh and of course they both had a cringe worthy(But wonderfully funny)central charactor!
In two weeks time I am seeing Steve Cooghan live in Melbourne Australia. I am sooo excited about it. I would love to chat to anyone who has seen Steve live. I bet it was fantastic. Alan is my favorite character but they are all brilliant. The bass air guitar is the first scene i ever saw of Alan Partridge and I was addicted from then. The cow episode is fantastic. Im wondering about what other people's favorite episodes are. LOve to hear. Thanks
I've seen him live, I hate to break it to you, but he's lost it. It wasn't brilliant. It was decent, admittedly, ut just not as genius as he usually is. My favourite episode is where Alan goes back to his old school.
I loved all of the Alan Partridge episodes and would find it near impossible to choose a favourite but I do have a few favourite bits.
To name but a few -the Bancock chick boys stuff was brilliant(on my mates birthday we ordered a round of "Lady Boys")the love making scene with the chocolate moose was classic!
last but by no means least the south african chap(Pylro-dec-neeks)and the dodgy table.
you are so right, it is nearly impossible to choose a favourite but the ones you mentioned are right up my street...the whole episode with Dan was just awesome, esp their first meeting at the bp garage..."in off the red" :)
and the bits with the builders are great too..."seen the match?" "which one" "dunno" lol
oh and ...sorry forgot, the one where he visits his old school and the scene later with his "old enemy" at the bp again "remove yourself from the theatre of conflict...go and stand by the yakults!!!"
As sketchybeans said you might be in or already have had a bit of a let down. I saw Steve in November and it was dire. By no means a universal view so go anyway but dont be as gutted as we were.
