  • How do u fix a ps3 that when u press the red button an it comes on for 2 seconds then shuts off

  • @tmoney9n The yellow light of death requires GPU reball for permanent repair.

  • @fixmyplaystation so i got to get a new one or wat

  • @tmoney9n Call PSR.

  • Wait...wat kind of screw is it??????????????

  • @XxPinkFurryxX At 00:42 I say to use a size 00 Phillips head screwdriver.

  • lets say ps3 still works but theres a cd in there... will that process affect the system at all?

  • @YoungVProduction The manual eject is a Sony feature. How would it hurt?

  • @fixmyplaystation true, i was just wondering...thanks though

  • your the man!

  • you saved my skyrim thanks

    nord on

  • @TheDorianjs Good. Does the machine function normally now or does it need repair?

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. It was a big help. Thank you.

  • Dude u saved my mw3

  • @ohmygodgivemeabreak That's how we roll. :)

  • Mine isn't dead but it won't eject my game!! Please help someone, will this work for ones still working??

  • @blueriser Some won't eject and some models don't have the access hole. You may need to remove the drive, remove the disc, then reset the drive gears.

  • @fixmyplaystation Ahh man.. Thanks though!!

  • can you please do a video on how to sort ps3 when they freeze because im begginnging to get sick of my ps3 freezing

  • super cool thanks for the vid. i never knew about these manual ejects. i came home after a night shift and either my 2 year old son or my technologically inadequate mother got two discs stuck in it lol lol i first tried it, didnt work, a little frustrated, came back to it , turned it clockwise held the machine with the disc slot facing down and voila , 2 friggin discs appear !! lord tunderin, after itook discs out, turned it on and got a third disc out lol

  • @dakenhowlett Good job. Leave it to the 2 year olds.

  • clean the ps3 it will help

  • your all video is great and relly helpful to us....and i think you make another video especially PS3 SLIM (YLOD)...just if u want.TnX,,,

  • @fixmyplaystation i tried this to mine but it still doesnt come out the ps3 still works though

  • @KCpanda816 Probably need to remove the PS3 cover and remove the drive to get the disc out. Then reset any jammed drive gears. Probably nothing broken.

  • I have a very new PS3 slim its bout a week old and my skyrim disk wont eject or read and the eject button does nothing once pressed. should i do this? will it screw up my ps3? will my ps3 still read disks when its taken out this way? PLEASE HELP!!!

  • @SuperDananator This eject mechanism is built into most Slim units by Sony. Don't try it if you're concerned.

  • Thank you so much this worked

  • My disc still won't some out what do i do now?

  • @HyperCaneXz You'll need to remove the PS3 cover and open the drive.

  • Thanks mate, that worked really. I was like shit when it didnt come out, but you saved me bro.

  • Thank you so much for this video, you helped me taking out the CD that is stucked inside my ps3 slim.

  • @toneric Does the disc drive function normally now?

  • thank you very much i fixed mine too :D !!

  • Thanks! I have to send back my PS3 for an exchange and I'm so glad that Skyrim won't be trapped within!

  • @rbianc1 Happy to help.

  • Thank you, I had the same problem and not I am back to playing COD, once again THANK YOU

  • @Tdchicago23 Thanks for writing

  • Where can I go to get a powper supply for my ps3 slim? It's broken.

  • @armo619 Try the mygameparts site.

  • i got my PS3 fixed thanks

  • thanks

  • dude thanks that really helped out i took my PS3 apart and i figured out the problem

  • i have the 160 gb ps3 slim and people told me that does not work for the 160 gb can you plz help me dude

  • @MsGokussj2 If you don't have external access to the ejection mechanism, you'll need to take the cover off the PS3, remove the drive, take the covers off the drive and remove the disc.

  • that doesnt work for me

  • @MsGokussj2 Might need to take the PS3 apart.

  • How can this be applied to a 160 GB Slim version where there IS no hole for the screw?

  • @Bcloribel Sorry, some models don't have that hole. You'll need to take the cover off and find the eject mechanism at the front left bottom of the drive.

  • @fixmyplaystation Is there a way to take the cover off without huge risk to the console? Is it complicated to do?

  • @Bcloribel Look for videos here. Easy.

  • Thank you, for some reason my slim ps3 doesnt eject disks but can be put inside. I think theres something wrong with the ejection inside it.

  • @MrDelta01 The drive gears probably just need to be reset. There is a swing arm on the right side of the drive that often gets jammed... but not broken.

  • @fixmyplaystation thank you works now :)

  • @fixmyplaystation what do you recommend I do, manually eject the disc like you did in your video??

  • @MrDelta01 Can you access the eject mechanism like we show in the video?

  • @fixmyplaystation I tried what you did on your video, un-screwing the blue color screw but the disk didnt come out, I had to insert another disk to have the one already inside to eject.

  • this does not work for me

  • @MsGokussj2 We received a 2001A model Slim PS3 yesterday that does not have the ejector gear. You might have the same model. If so, you'll need to remove the PS3's cover and disc drive in order to get the disc out. Look on the bottom front of the drive for a white sticker with a star shaped slit cut in it. That's where you can insert the screwdriver.

  • HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE A BAJILLION VIEWS?

  • Thanks, I think my ps3 will die out soon because now it will easily overheat and I've had had this for many years.

  • @iwuhvbuubees You can replace the old thermal compound between the heat sink and the 2 processors on the motherboard. This can increase the heat sink's efficiency and reduce overheating.

  • omfg thanks alot u my life saver omfg!!!!!!!!!!

  • chers this works crate

  • thank you for instructions it works now!!!!!!!

  • @SuperCreativeBuilder Thank you.

  • It really works thanks man

  • My slim doesn't have this, it's a 160gb 2nd gen?

  • @ps3rocks1000 I haven't seen a Slim yet that didn't have the manual eject.

  • @fixmyplaystation im turning but it wouldnt come out help!

  • @SuperCreativeBuilder You'll need to take the cover off the PS3 and remove and open the disc drive. You'll void any warranty by opening it.

  • @fixmyplaystation how do i open it up?

  • @SuperCreativeBuilder Seek out "how to open a slim ps2" young skywalker.

  • MY COPY OF SOCOM 4 SOME WHO GOT STUCK IN MY PS3 I DO NOT WHO THAT HAPPENED AT ALL. IT WAS WORKING FOR ME BEFORE NOW IT IS NOT. I HAVE A PS3 SLIM BUT MY PS3 HAS A 160 GB HDD.

  • @XMLGXTIM If the unit still turns on, you probably need to disassemble the drive and remove the disc that way. Then unjam the drive mechanism.

  • Thx you made my day :)

  • doesn't this break the warranty seal so you don't have warranty anymore?

  • @raiders18nick No. The warranty seal is on the bottom covering a screw to the left of the hard drive access panel.

  • Man thanks so much My black ops disk got stuck and obviously i wanted to take it out. thanks alot :)

  • @Bonecrusher2by4 Thanks for letting us know. :)

  • My slim wont accept discs, any help??

  • @ThaXilent Someone stepped on the right side of the PS3? The opening of the disc drive may be pinched. Easy fix. Call us. fixmyplaystation

  • @ThaXilent

the same thing happened to my ps3 slim

try playing one of the trial games on the hard drive and while playing it press the ps3 menu button

your game disk should be visible

i hope this works as it works for me ;)

  • ThaXilent they easy way do make ur ps3 discs read is to play a demo or take the hardrive and put it in back i hope it works :)

  • Thank you! Big help.

  • mine won't read, then stays in my system i meant to say, srry, also it sounds like its ejecting itself while its still in the system ... help me out please!

  • @Bonelessgeko If you hear the "ka-chunk!" sound from your Slim PS3 drive, either the laser is in need of cleaning or it's dead. Replacing the laser is the worst case, and that's no big deal. The Ka-Chunk sound is the drive attempting to fix a possible jamming... but it's actually a dead laser causing the disc read error.

  • @fixmyplaystation

if its not any trouble, do u think u can make a vid showing how to clean the laser?

or do u think i should just recycle the ps3 and just buy a new one? :S

  • @Bonelessgeko If you clean the 2 outer lenses on the Slim PS3 (450 model) laser and there is no improvement in disc play, the back cover of the laser can be removed (it's glued in place at the corners) and all internal lenses and prisms can be cleaned with a dry cotton swab. Check YouTube for videos from others re: how to open a Slim PS3.

  • mine won't read, then ejects by itself... help me out please!

  • @Bonelessgeko Ejects by itself... might have a foreign object in there. The last Slim PS3 we had like that (2 weeks ago) had a cardboard poker chip inside.

  • how wud u do it on ps3 FAT

  • @SuperSmurfz The fat drives must be opened in order to remove stuck discs.

  • @SuperSmurfz The fat drives must be opened in order to remove stuck discs. Unless you have YLOD in a PS3 with 2 USB ports. Then try holding the EJECT button while turning the power switch on in the back. Those models have auto-eject built in.

  • thank you so much

  • u r an awesome lifesaver my ps3 eject and power buttons stopped working and my ps3 wouldnt turn on and i got the disk out and put it back in and it started my ps3!!!!!!!! thanks again man!!!!!

  • Any chance you could do a disassemble video for a PS3 Slim 160 gb model. I need to reapply thermal paste and can't find any videos. Thanks!

  • that do not work for me can you help me

  • @MrJJ235 you might need to take the cover off, remove the power supply, remove the disc drive and open it to get your disc out. Slim PS3 disc drives are different than old PS3 drives, but not too difficult to figure out. We'll have a video soon.

  • how you going to make any video of prevent the ps3 slim ylod a most 2 yr

  • @death020286 We recommend re-pasting the Slim PS3 heat sink after 12 months.

  • Its almost as if Sony is saying, "Hey, this $350 piece of equipment IS GOING TO BREAK. Here's how to get your game out at least"

Not a hater but I am on my second PS3. Original 60gb latsted 4 1/2 years and 3 YLOD repairs before I bought a Slim.

  • @bigshowjoe1226 Little kids often shove up to 4 discs into the PS3 drive. The manual eject might help with that too.

  • Good to know! Bought a slim after my 60gb had Ylod.
