@RevolverOcelot2008 It's not about reincarnation. It is about humanity and how each of us shares characteristics with people from the past, and have a bond to them through our nature and shared beliefs. That's my interpretation anyways. The nice thing is that anyone can interpret it however they want to.
i thinks it very much is about how the soul is cycling and you might become a highwayman again... or simply a single drop of rain. but you will remain
At 2:00 you can see Kristofferson wearing a holster for a long barreled handgun. I can be sure that that holster contains a Remington Model 1858 .45 caliber revolver...The finest example of American engineering...Best revolver ever built...Rugged, powerful, and well made :)
can you imagine sailing a ship like that? I think all the whales and Dolphins are being driven "CRAZY" with all the noise that man, in the name of progress, Steamships now motorboats. Can you imagine being bombarded with all those neverending sounds? I'd beach myself too. PEACE to ALL
First off, I listen mostly to hip-hop and electronic music, but to me, this is one of the best American songs of all time. This was a magical composition with 4 very special visionary men. You are the Grand Canyon...you are the wild Colorado. You are elemental. You are the the sound and the silence in-between. You are what makes America such a great land. A reminder of power, pride, freedom, and majesty. You will not be forgotten....you live eternal in song. Johnny Cash, rest in peace.
@Flackerr People who have no sense of taste or of beauty at all and im not eaven an american but i can stil feel the spirit of the frontier in this song.
About 20 minutes before the show began, there was a moment of polite audience applause, June Carter Cash waves at the audiednce and sits dowsn. I expected fans to approach her, but they didn't. VERY COOL, awakiting the show and knowing the entire audience was respecting her ;privacy, as obviously we should. Thjen EXACTLY 10 minutes beflore curtain more aoliote applause as Johnny Cash waves before sitting down with his wife. 7 minutes laterl Johnny Cash & the others take stage at the BRESLIN.
Love this song. Never get tired of hearing it over and over again. It really takes me back to my childhood, sitting on my grandmother's lap and everything was perfect.
skullman82: Are U in contact with Roseanne? I think her talent has been overlooked, for whatever reason. Maybe she just isn't considered "marketable" or something? I LOVE her music!
Ahhhhh, yes - The spirit of the tough, learned and principled rebels will never die. It lives on in some of us-we wish MORE would join us! A tribute to our Forefathers and their independent, dissenting, defiant nature. 1 of my fave songs. Thx for posting. Awesome.
Great Video! I love the part when you show the old fashioned planes "I fly a starship, across the universe divide, and when I reach the other side, Ill find a place to rest my spirit if I can, perhaps I may become a highway man again. Or Ill simply be a drop of rain, but I will remain, and Ill be back again.... and again... and again, and again, and again... "
Highwayman, would be a good video game idea. FPS shooter, set 1870s, when repeater rifles were available. You play an Irish Highwayman, "Happy Jack" Halligan, robbing tight-fisted landed gentry, until you are forced to make a run for a port where a ship can take you to North America. Captain Bill Parson, a British Army officer-turned-Bounty Hunter, is hot on your trail, and you have to leave the homeland before you leave this world.
This is one of those YT clips where the video is better than the song, though the song, written by Jim Webb, is immortal. I think the live version of the song by these same four guys here on YT is even better. I don't think I could really like someone who didn't like this clip.
What a neat video, I really liked your choice for the starship, wouldn't have thought of it myself (I guess that's why you create them, & I watch them). I gave it a "hit". Thanks again for sharing your talent with the YouTube community.
Loved it apart from the planes at the end. I thought pictures of the glaxy and universe would have fitted the lyrics better. Realy enjoyed the rest though. One of my fvourie songs, thanks.X
By the way, the portion of the song that was sung by Waylon regarding "the wild Colorado", I was just up by the head water of the Colorado River just a few weeks ago. To think that the small "trickle" of water grows to that size by the time it gets to Boulder City still boggles the mind!
