  • 11 people dont know true music. this song is one of the greatest in the world!

  • heard this song on the alex jones show

  • One of my all time favourite (favorite in the USA spelling) songs. Good video. Good choice not to include any star ships!

  • Fantastic song!

Truly 4 of the greatest musicians in history.

I can't believe that it took me until the 3rd time I listened to it to realize this song was about reincarnation.

  • @RevolverOcelot2008 It's not about reincarnation. It is about humanity and how each of us shares characteristics with people from the past, and have a bond to them through our nature and shared beliefs. That's my interpretation anyways. The nice thing is that anyone can interpret it however they want to.

  • i thinks it very much is about how the soul is cycling and you might become a highwayman again... or simply a single drop of rain. but you will remain

  • something about this music.....cant place it but its just so American.

  • At 2:00 you can see Kristofferson wearing a holster for a long barreled handgun. I can be sure that that holster contains a Remington Model 1858 .45 caliber revolver...The finest example of American engineering...Best revolver ever built...Rugged, powerful, and well made :)

  • can you imagine sailing a ship like that? I think all the whales and Dolphins are being driven "CRAZY" with all the noise that man, in the name of progress, Steamships now motorboats. Can you imagine being bombarded with all those neverending sounds? I'd beach myself too. PEACE to ALL

  • This song is AWESOME!

  • Jimmy Webb is such a brilliant song writer, and this is the best version of his song.

  • First off, I listen mostly to hip-hop and electronic music, but to me, this is one of the best American songs of all time. This was a magical composition with 4 very special visionary men. You are the Grand Canyon...you are the wild Colorado. You are elemental. You are the the sound and the silence in-between. You are what makes America such a great land. A reminder of power, pride, freedom, and majesty. You will not be forgotten....you live eternal in song. Johnny Cash, rest in peace.

  • @7Bobby7Platinum7 1,000 + views are from me. Love this song.

  • WHO THE FUCK DISLIKE THIS SONG ?!?!?!?!?!

  • @Flackerr People who have no sense of taste or of beauty at all and im not eaven an american but i can stil feel the spirit of the frontier in this song.

  • Love this song!

  • i was wondering when they would write a song about my life

  • The dislike bar is the size of Justin Bieber's dick xD

  • @elvedin06 in millimetres

  • @moonwalker1996

They're probably the same person. :P

  • beautiful....

  • straight up country gangstas ,, bad ass tune

  • About 20 minutes before the show began, there was a moment of polite audience applause, June Carter Cash waves at the audiednce and sits dowsn. I expected fans to approach her, but they didn't. VERY COOL, awakiting the show and knowing the entire audience was respecting her ;privacy, as obviously we should. Thjen EXACTLY 10 minutes beflore curtain more aoliote applause as Johnny Cash waves before sitting down with his wife. 7 minutes laterl Johnny Cash & the others take stage at the BRESLIN.

  • Love this song. Never get tired of hearing it over and over again. It really takes me back to my childhood, sitting on my grandmother's lap and everything was perfect.

  • Great song about the human spirit, and the will to power and perseverance. What a soulful timeless classic.

  • Thers an finnish artist that uses this song... He has changed the lyrics to his own but the song is the same O_o

  • Excellent Video!

    KUDOS!

  • Great video. I like your choice of the WW2 fighters during the last section.

  • one of the best songs, I mean this is true music not the bullshit tehno-dance that we have in our disco-dance ring!

  • This song is a true gem. An American treasure. Jimmy Webb again at his best.

  • love it awesoooooome <3 <3

  • if you ever lived with legends this song keeps them alive. peace out uncl dan, and john.

  • One of the best songs EVER made...

  • You can get this mp3 at instantmp3s..com

  • What a beautiful song, and thanks for putting these historic pictures with it. This song really touches me. It inspired me to buy the album. Thanks!

  • You have a Soviet fighter at 2:27 a Yak-7 or a 9. It has a redstart on it. US whitestar has stripes across.

  • Thats a p-39

  • You're right! Must be lend-lease then, because that's still a redstar.

  • yea youre right, i think the americans sent a lot of them to the ruskies

  • they also sent P-63 Airocobras too

  • Very well made.

  • This could be my favorite song of all time. I've officially decided I want it played at my funeral.

  • Amazing

  • travisridinger Paul Revere died with out children... I work for a museum and bigcheif no i am not.

  • skullman82: Are U in contact with Roseanne? I think her talent has been overlooked, for whatever reason. Maybe she just isn't considered "marketable" or something? I LOVE her music!

  • Johnney cash is my relitive by marriage. My great-uncles cousin was June Carter

  • Good for you I'm a direct decendent of Raul Revere.

  • Ahhhhh, yes - The spirit of the tough, learned and principled rebels will never die. It lives on in some of us-we wish MORE would join us! A tribute to our Forefathers and their independent, dissenting, defiant nature. 1 of my fave songs. Thx for posting. Awesome.

  • Awsome Album, Sadly We Keep Loosing Highwaymen much to Fast

  • agreed

  • very good and this is an amazing song i like it alot 5 stars

  • best song ever made ! <3

  • It's up there in my top 10. Few songs stir emotions in me the way this one does. These guys fucking kicked ASS!

  • you dont even know

  • The story of my life...highwayman...I want this song played at my funeral.

  • awsome song

  • Jimmy Webb writes a mean song!

  • I think this was the actual music video, not created by Lyecoathe. could be wrong though.

  • This isn't the actual video, but it is really well done. Endiman (there are porbably others too) has posted the actual video if your interested.

  • Great Video! I love the part when you show the old fashioned planes "I fly a starship, across the universe divide, and when I reach the other side, Ill find a place to rest my spirit if I can, perhaps I may become a highway man again. Or Ill simply be a drop of rain, but I will remain, and Ill be back again.... and again... and again, and again, and again... "

  • sword and pistol by my side

  • what a great song, back when music ment somthing more than, ass shaken and gettin jiggy with it

  • ahhhh you funny bastard. So true...

  • Great Song and good job putting the vid together with it... 5*****s... KluTz333

  • AWESOME SONG AND VID!!!! 5*'s ~HiGH HeaD JeSTeR~

  • Great video!!! Thank you so much.... this brings me back some great memories..

  • Yes it does bring back memories. I grew up on Waylon, Johnny and good country from the 60's and 70's. Thanks Lyecoatha!

  • Brilliant post!

  • I'm in love X 4. Reminds me of freespirited days --rebels united in this group - love them all - Lolly

  • This is a great song, but has anyone actually got the video to it?

  • great song!!

  • Highwayman, would be a good video game idea. FPS shooter, set 1870s, when repeater rifles were available. You play an Irish Highwayman, "Happy Jack" Halligan, robbing tight-fisted landed gentry, until you are forced to make a run for a port where a ship can take you to North America. Captain Bill Parson, a British Army officer-turned-Bounty Hunter, is hot on your trail, and you have to leave the homeland before you leave this world.

  • haha man you'r mental. but i like the idea, kinda like gun but better!

  • You have to be a little mental, sometimes. And thanks.

  • now when I think about it, it could be the coolest game ever... "Happy Jack" haha awesome

  • Think of it as Robin Hood meets Butch and Sundance in Ireland, only with a singular hero.

  • This is one of those YT clips where the video is better than the song, though the song, written by Jim Webb, is immortal. I think the live version of the song by these same four guys here on YT is even better. I don't think I could really like someone who didn't like this clip.

  • nice!

  • this is just awesome!!!

  • great pictures, i love willie with the broken guitar, and i agree with noobie ^, the p40 pictures fit perfectly

  • where is the real version to this song and not the bullshit one like this?

  • Dawn,

What a neat video, I really liked your choice for the starship, wouldn't have thought of it myself (I guess that's why you create them, & I watch them). I gave it a "hit". Thanks again for sharing your talent with the YouTube community.

    Peace,

    Jim

  • LOL! look at waylon's sweater at the end.

  • best song EVER!

  • Willie first, Kristofferson, Jennings and Cash in that order.

  • Thank you everyone! ~Barb (winspirit)

  • anyone know the order in which they sing

im thinking its Willie then Kris then Waylon then obviously Johnny at the end

    anybody know for sure?

  • You are correct!

  • cool thanks for the clarification

    neat video 8D

  • @Lyecoatha didnt think it was possible but their live version is way bettter :D

  • @Specialk32928 you're right, was lucky to see them all perform a couple of times

  • @Specialk32928 ..that's right!!! I soooo love this song!!!

  • @Specialk32928 yep ur correct

  • @Specialk32928 Willie nelson > Kris Kristofferson > Waylon Jennings > Johnny Cash.

You can hear it on their voices :)

  • Four of the best in country music history.

  • Loved it apart from the planes at the end. I thought pictures of the glaxy and universe would have fitted the lyrics better. Realy enjoyed the rest though. One of my fvourie songs, thanks.X

  • I always thought those guys were COOL! Thanks for posting this video.

  • Hey lyecoatha.... some song once again.... do you what year it was released? thanks so much for posting it!

  • Wikipedia says 1985.

  • FIVE thumbs up.

  • This was great. Very well done.

  • i'm not big on country music but good song and good vid very well put together

  • ..and hope they will be back again, and again and again and again... impressiv song, impressiv pictures... thanks

  • probably the deepest country song ever

  • and the best...or at least the only one not concerning the loss of a loved one

  • to the user who uploaded this video: how do you know my name?

  • nvm...

  • no way

    good song though

  • By the way, the portion of the song that was sung by Waylon regarding "the wild Colorado", I was just up by the head water of the Colorado River just a few weeks ago. To think that the small "trickle" of water grows to that size by the time it gets to Boulder City still boggles the mind!

  • gonna be an awesome game

  • Actually I was refering to the movie, never played the game but I understand the movie came from the game. Dawn says a second one is coming. ~Barb

  • very nice thx for putting it on here

  • Thanks silenthillfan999, and yw. I liked Silent Hill too, hope they make a sequal. ~Barb
