we did buy two and one of them survived to 5 months old before a single wolf killed him. Not easy on the kids let me tell you nor me. we have done every little thing recommended with few results. the other dog, now 2.5 seems to be able to hold his territory, the 2 miles surrounding out home but the ranch is over 40 sections hard to have enough dogs and not very nice to subject campers to semi feral dogs and wolf packs too.

Habituated coyotes can cause the same harm, so are you sure these are wolf attacks? Most of the ranchers I have spoken with in the southwest could not tell the difference between a Mexican Grey Wolf or a Coyote through a rifle site. Most of the bites that I have seen on livestock have been from habituated coyotes, I have lost a cat and a dog to coyote attacks, and I have been surrounded and nearly attacked by a hungry pack.

Why did I know as I watched this video that I would see a bunch of uninformed pro wolf advocates howling like mashed cats. Take a look folks, this is what these things are doing, and we better get a hold on this situation before it gets worse. Wolves DO need to be hunted so they don't become habituated(it's never good for large, highly intelligent carnivores to realize humans are actually pretty weak), but people that think they need to be wiped out are every bit as out of touch as the bunny huggers they look down on so much.
Wolves do not 'destroy the ecosystem', they've been part of the damn thing for millions of years.
It's incredible, the hate ranchers have for everything that doesn't make them money...

On one hand, the wolf supporters are caught up in emotion. But aren't your statements about the elk the same? How many other predators react to prey in the same manner as wolves? we did buy two and one of them survived to 5 months old before a single wolf killed him. Not easy on the kids let me tell you nor me. we have done every little thing recommended with few results. the other dog, now 2.5 seems to be able to hold his territory, the 2 miles surrounding out home but the ranch is over 40 sections hard to have enough dogs and not very nice to subject campers to semi feral dogs and wolf packs too.

The Fact is uniformed city dweller. Ranchers have to run on large areas of land, to support their livestock. You wouldnt know, well, because you get your food from the market, while we produce it. The ranchers job is no different than any others. Ranchers do watch over their stock. As Hunters, we are the sole reason there is wildlife at sustainable numbers.

Many of the people affected are just home owners not ranchers. Hikers have been run up trees, hunters have been threatened in their camps, organic gardners have had their chickens killed off. Habituated coyotes can cause the same harm, so are you sure these are wolf attacks? Most of the ranchers I have spoken with in the southwest could not tell the difference between a Mexican Grey Wolf or a Coyote through a rifle site. Most of the bites that I have seen on livestock have been from habituated coyotes, I have lost a cat and a dog to coyote attacks, and I have been surrounded and nearly attacked by a hungry pack.

Yes and wolves rip dogs apart when they are not trying to mate with them. How does this protect a species when they are spreding their genes and dispersing them. Endangered species must interbreed when mature and preserve their genes as stated in the ESA on page 4 def #16.

yellowstone has lots of problmes but it is worse in the southwest. Wolves are denning near private land and roads. Here they are denning on private land.

Like, for instance a girl's 1yr old dog was shot for no reason other than it being on farming land. The rancher didn't even hesitate.
