  • People rejoice, for Atari is reborn!

Nolan Bushnell has has joined the current Atari as the CEO.

  • Yes,America created the Video Game industry. The 2600 didn't take off until 1979 when it got the home rights to popular Space Invaders arcade.

But America also just about killed the gaming industry in 1983 and Japan picked up the pieces.

With the Jaguar, it's power is actually close to the PS1 than Super Nintendo. This was mentioned by developers in Retrogamer magazine the Sonic issue.

  • atari is now owned by a french publisher infrogames

  • PDP 1 is the name of that computer

  • isnt xbox american

  • yes it is

  • They are built in China.

  • ah.. i see, but they were designed here, well there, US

  • blizzard is the richest video game company and its american

  • any systems??

  • Great job. The early "Spacewar" (not to be confused with a later vector game called "SpaceWars" that was based on the same concept) games became "Computer Space" the first coin-op arcade machine (before the success of coin-op PONG jump-started the commercial industry).

  • Alright. Excellent intro.. Now bring on the Jaguar!! Hehe..

  • Looking forward to your Jaguar review. It's a shame Atari died.

If you look on my profile you can find a documentry on the history of video games, which talks about a lot of the stuff you mentioned, except for the Jaguar.

  • go usa

  • i heard that the sega 32x was made in america it was certainly designed there i thought they even exported to japan

  • The 32X was designed by Sega of America but built in Japan oddly enough I expected China but it must have been one of the last Sega machines to be built in Japan like the Genesis. The DC was built in China for example.

  • Please read the message i sent you! and reply even if its to say no.

  • You wrote "beginning wrong.

  • wrote? you mean typed!

  • The Jaguar had a lot of potential. Really. I mean....the controller looked really funky, but there's always a way around that, so it's really sad to see Atari go down.

  • Nice history lesson there, i'm looking forward to your review even more now.

Even if i already own a Jaguar with the CD system.

  • Good stuff, and nice bit of trivia at the beggining for the folks that didn't know. I'll be waiting for the Jaguar review.

  • great vid man but i whant to point something out for one the xbox is an american produced consel i dont know if its made in america but is american produced but still great video

  • Yeah the XBOX was (at least I assume) designed in America using mainly American power (Intel, Nvidia) but the XBOX certainly wasn't built in America.
