I think runners are fine, It's just when zombies/infected become more powerful than regular humans that I get annoyed. They are supposed to be malnourished after all. The longer they have been infected the weaker they should be.
@possumman10 I still can't wait to see it though--a zombie movie that should actually be large-scale...and very dramatic, since most of these movies really aren't (the book is like The Stand of zombie stories). I really shouldn't complain too much.
I get that you are all upset that the source material has been altered. However, I don't think that justifies not seeing the movie. Not only are runners terrifying, but I also imagine it would have to do with the pacing of the movie itself. And if you are gonna complain about how illogical it is....stop and realize we're talking about ZOMBIES..
@jerboze if they're dead and rotting, they wouldn't be moving in the first place so it's all flawed ; ) I know it's not true to the book etc BUT, if something like this ever did happen, it wouldn't be unreasonable to think they might run after re-animation as the blood isn't cold and coagulated / stiff.
@possumman10 it's not unreasonable to think that after they reanimate, but only IMMEDIATELY after they reanimate. The story takes place over a long period of time, though so they probably would decay to such an extent that they couldn't run. I guess that's what I'm trying to say about the whole "Zombie runs the 100 yard dash" conceit. In the beginning, sure, but after a while, c'mon...
This film is based on Max Brooks books, the zombies in question are infected with a disease known as Solanum, they are walkers but can only be killed by headshot. Read his books to know some more about it. There should be no runners.
@sipher100 Not if they are written/filmed well. I think the idea of WWZ/The Zombie Survival Guide is to describe the zombies as a "constant force". They may be slow, but they don't tire, they don't stop, ever.
@AltruisticAlbatross yea if they're runners then they have fucked up the story bug time. plus if its just set in the one place and doesnt have anything to do with the book im gonna kick him in the nuts next time he films in glasgow
@IanMartinTV Yes, and loved it! I did some more research into this matter, and apparently they "lunge" as they close in on someone. That's not so bad, I guess. Fingers crossed.

It seems like they'll be runners, people. Check out some other videos of the set in Glasgow. Runners fast as hell.

to me running zombies are more like infected living people rather than corpses that came back from the dead.

Walking zombies feel totally real. Running zombies are not really zombies as such. Plus they have been done to death.
