  • ok so was where the light is doctored or something. i mean this is ok a far as live performances go for stars now adays, but the live in l.a. performances were flawless, they sounded 10x better than studio. but all the other shows i watch sound like this. i mean it's ok. im just wondering if they changed his voice for the where the light is recordings, or if he just doesn't try like he did then. someone please respond.

  • @SuperNingerGinger ...i understand exactly what you mean....i'm wondering the exact same thing as you...his performance/ voice in where the light is was PERFECT / FLAWLESS....,,may be he did his best in La concert..,,i don't know the answer to be honest with u..

  • i'm thinking he handles pressure and nerves pretty well considering what he has pulled off at the annual eric clapton crossroads guitar festivals that he's been invited to for a few years now. specifically "gravity"...talk about shredding a guitar AND in front of a bunch of legends on top of it.

  • wow! the vocals are spot on!

  • WIsh he wasn't so fucking "breathy" when he gets nervous, because this is the best rendition of Clarity I've ever seen.

  • @inuyashaspet Why do you think he's nervous? This is the only show I've seen where he has this lisp thing. Maybe he had some kind of tooth issue or sore in his mouth that caused the lisp.

  • @ztbsk8er It's really weird. His earlier live concerts always shows him with this problem until he gets toward the end of the show, when his voice gets closer to his normal, "studio recording" tone.

In contrast, you can easily tell how nice and consistent his voice is in his newer shows, such as his LA concert. It's too bad I liked the genuine volatility from his earlier shows more.

  • @inuyashaspet He said on the commentary from Any Given Thursday, his breathy voice is from nerves =]

  • in my top 3 favorite songs by JM. The song arrangement is just genius.

  • man if you dislike this song then you dislike music.....

  • @snydervince001 i almost agree. i'd say "if you don't recognize the quality of this song"

  • the band is so nice in this live set

  • Wow that's band is Awesome this performance sound incredible

  • John mayer is one of the few artists of which the live versions of his songs are ALWAYS better than the studio versions...and this is what we call true artist...!

  • Its rare that I find something worth-while to listen to outside of the 80's , they really don't have good music these days ......however JOHN MAYOR is EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD and worthy of the label ABSOLUTE GENIOUS

  • 2:58 is gosh darn funny.

What is he, Marvin Gaye now?

  • i remember seeing this on AFN

  • "I havent played in a while" ^^

  • the crowd clapping pisses me off. listen to the music.

  • yeah it's pretty much the same at ALL of his live shows. those women just can't shut up

  • yeah seriously you overweight off beat white housewives. let the snare do its dang job!

wow, that was a mean generalization...

  • Thanks so much for posting this!!

  • Where the hecks Buddy Guy? That's David Ryan Harris

  • I'll post the rest of the show later.

    Buddy Guy will be there.

    =-)

  • I love to watch his leg. its his "feelin it" barometer. i dont think i could be in the front at one of his shows without fallin out.

  • uhm i think hes keeping count. LOL.

  • if you watched any given thursday, he calls it the "hee-haw dance"

  • Thats Funny. LOL!!!!!

  • one leg is perfectly still while the other dramatically pokes in and out

  • This man is my hero.
