  • this is AWESOME!!!!!

  • Love the british-style layout (trains, wagons, vans, etc.)

  • Very good layout for illustrating the principle of hump shunting. I was priveledged to see the yard at Thornaby (Teesside) which I think you can still see on Google earth

  • Isn't this dangerous as the cars must not go faster than 3mph or else they will derail, not couple?

  • @Ch4rli3Brown The buffers on each end of the car absorb a good portion of the forces. Since the cars don't couple (IRL) until someone actually goes between them to hook the chains, there's no worry about them doing much other than bumping around.

  • I tried one of these, but I found the problem was that successive wagons in each road met with a progressively bigger impact, and eventually you reached a point where they simply knocked each other off the tracks. The real hump yards had devices that could reduce wagon speeds before they hit each other.

  • ahh this is Hazlebury Yard

  • pee wee zoomers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    lol

  • nice layout, god help the goods in them wagons lol ;)
