Our (banking) leaders want to impose a carbon tax so they can make us pay themselves back (with interest) for us having to bail them out of their planned real estate chaos (American Recovery Act, etc). Only a very small percent will go for largescale RE. Germany's (rather high) feed in tariff (which charges utility customers for higher prices for solar and such) is proof that even in cloudy weather, feed ins are better than carbon taxes! First Solar built best mass PV factory as a result!

If you want to make a difference your self and for the real furure....PLEASE move your California operations to Texas, Out and away from an earthquake zone!! The best thing you can ever do for your comapany. thanks. oper
lol guys they are using titanium dioxide...it's basically one of the most common substances you can find. Go and check the ingredients of your toothpaste. Go Nanosolar!
Less radiation waste idea:A Atomic Plant's atomic clock can be powered and energized, using a solar clock but doesn't use sun power but only laser light which is absorbed in clock's solar panel cells or photo voltaic cells which absorb laser light and sends to core battery.Reason atomic plant clock needs to use this technique is:Electrical wires if cut are dangerous/around atomic things,if old not fire safe;Long Fiber optic wires can send light energy and if cut,no problem just laser exposed!
elmuan-"In a time when our country is not producing much, mostly just consuming"
What are we consuming if nothing is being produced?
If we are not producing, then how do you account for the almost $1.3 trillion in U.S. Exports last year and the over $1.3 trillion we will export this year. Get some facts and don't just blatantly comment on what you feel or perceive things to be.
Oh Lord! I guess you just told me! Relax dude,no need for so much anger. You are right were just fine. I will keep watching Fox news and get all my facts, the dollar is strong and our economy is kicking ass! Have a great day quaheedus.
Anger? lol.. when faced with facts you must somehow twist it into someone being angry and bring up things that were not even mentioned in order for you to be able to dismiss the facts. I did not say a thing about the economy or the dollar, what I said, is that the U.S. exports $1.3 trillion dollars...this does not come from Fox news as you suggest and is an easily verifiable and readily available information that all U.S. trading partners know and use.
Obviously you are to ignorant to have even a clue of what was being said.
Fox News or any news determines financial numbers and the value of U.S. exports or the Gross domestic product of the U.S., which dwarfs every nation on earth!
The biggest problem is our trade imbalance. Our biggest export is the dollar. For now they are being accepted around the world, since we are still the reserve currency. But a nation cannot export a printing press as we are doing. It is completely unsustainable. Our economy is based on 82% consumption. If we are such a great producer, then i challenge you to go a whole week buying only American products. Over the last 10 years we have lost 4 million manufacturing jobs overseas.
What insourcing are you talking about. If an american company can make products cheaper in Asia and the government doesn't discourage it, then that's exactly whats going to happen. At first they tell you they're subsidizing a portion of the company to be competitive on the economic scene. But the reality is that they love to pay slave labor wages, and Americans don't want to work for them. I would love to buy American products, but when a similar Chinese one is 50% less unfortunately ill buy it.
Just an FYI: Nanosolar is only one of about two dozen companies, each pursuing thin film solar cells with prices ranging from $0.50 to $1.50 per watt in a different manner. The odds of *all* of them failing is staggeringly low. Nanosolar is already selling cells, but currently only to German municipal utilities, so you'll just have to wait.
$1/W produces power cheaper than coal even in Alaska (google "The Photovoltaics Economics Calculator")
Nanosolar is now in full gear with their printing press style solar panel production. They're selling panels for $1 per watt, as opposed to older style panels for $9 per watt. Check out nanosolar dot com. the founders of google have now invested.
Whats great is that if this really takes off it will make solutions such as electric cars much more viable. It will also improve the security of our cities as power generation will go from a centralized system to a distributed one (there is no central point to attack since the responsibility of power generation is distributed through the entire city)
Nanosolar?..This sounds very interesting. Sometimes these energy solutions actually work...Sometimes they sound good in theory...This actually sounds like it might work. Thanks for sharing!
if these were so wonderful, where are they?

Do you think nanosolars vision of bringing solar panels to homes is feasible?

The Oil companies are trying their best to stop free energy ideas from spreading to common ppl.
We need to put an end to this corruption ,start generating your own electricity.
Look for the LT MAGNET MOTOR in youtube video search. Join the Revolution!!

Good Idea. Another Important issue is making circuits in computers and other things not produce heat. That would be another sweet bonus

That's absolutely true! In a time when our country is not producing much, mostly just consuming, companies like this bring us back to the front.
