The Bravery is my favorite new band of the last few years, but you've got to keep in mind that "the music industry" is not stupid. They try to cater to the broadest possible audience - which means songs with names like "hatef*ck" are a liability. This is why we get a steady conveyor belt of crap by young women singers/dancers that you can turn your mind off and dance to.

It's not that hard to understand some lyrics mate, "You're so milk and roses." "Milk" could possibly mean "she" is pregnant or fertile, since women began to produce milk when there pregnant obviously, and "roses" roses are ancient symbols of love and beauty. So he's saying shes beautiful and that he loves her, the whole song is about her leaving, whoever her is. Could be wife, maybe a girlfriend. But I will agree that his singing gets a bit annoying at times.

There is nothing emo about his voice. Emo singers tend to be high-pitched and nasally. Kids these days need to listen to some classic 80's music, as his voice is more akin to vocalist of that era, especially the budding goth/new wave scene.
