i first heard gary when he played "shapes of things to come" Ion the radio..I went out and bought the tape..and was in awe ever since at his playing abilities...miss him much...in fact I bought the cd that has this song on it also...

thank u for the full concert post......it's sad when he said, 'see u again sometime next year!'....it's been a soulful gary moore day for me since this morning of 6th feb 2012, been listening to his music the whole day, my wee way of paying tribute to this much loved and missed very talented bluesman and guitarist...many hugs and kisses to u, gary, where u r, in the arms of the angels.

Absolutely phenomenal playing. It was fantastic to see a musician whose talents and playing never declined but in fact got better and better. Truly beyond words how great Gary Moore was; he will be remembered and listened to as long as the guitar is played. A legend that Northern Ireland will forever be proud of.

gary hadn't played with such wild, almost manic abandon and passion for nigh on 20 years. He obviously "contained" himself to appeal to blues purists, but in this gig he just goes for it with a real "this is me, like it or leave it" attitude. This, to me, makes his death all the more tragic. The "real" Gary was back...the most passionate, ferocious, subtle, tasteful, downright beautiful player on the planet! At least we have this kind of stuff to remember him by. Great post.

Gary Moore is one of my all time favorite guitarists.
