  • Sometime the simplest things are the beast nice

  • Haha. Classic! Watching this episode with my 4 year old on Netflix DVD.

  • LMAO!

  • Anyone knows the name of the song or where to download it?

  • The music is also from the episode where some guy is going to take over the world of course and has a copy of of the Mach 5. After being foiled he heads for a city with a bomb (presumably nuke) and Speed catches up with him and quickly fights and defeats him to this music.

  • That episode is "Mach 5 vs. Mach 5".

Speed might have been the one to finish off the bad guy, but of course Spritle and Chim-Chim are hiding in the trunk of the fake Mach 5 and get out and start the action.

  • Oops - I forgot to mention that this music is at the end of Part 2 of "Mach 5 vs. Mach 5".

  • The music is the best part. I remember it from several episodes, but this is the first to come to mind. I went looking for the music by finding the original video, but you came up with it (multiple times)

  • funny video. brings back memories. cheesey, but Im glad you did it. Take care.

  • How did you know about speed racer?

Speed Racer came out when the baby boomers were 9-10 years old.

That's about 40 years ago. You look like you are just out of diapers.

  • That song is not the original from the mammoth car episode of Speed Racer.

I remember it all too well.

It's missing the "bump em, da bump em, da bump em bump" sound, after the main chorus.

  • I have the 52-episode box set in the metal Mach 5 - and do remember the song from my childhood as well as having recently watched the box set. Yes, it's authentic!

Also, this song was used in one other episode - but I'm about 80 miles from home (I'm visiting family) and can't look it up for you until later.

I'm one of the last of the baby-boomers - I just turned 45 in late January 2009 and watched Speed Racer in the mid-1970s in syndication.

  • LOL funny vid, yeah thats the Mammoth Car for sure

  • I like the music from this speed racer episode. How can i get it?

  • It was kind of boring, until the very end. Nice Speed Racer "Oh!" you got there. I'm impressed.

  • 1:35 Ace Douchie is hit by an 18 wheeler.

  • Any chance you can email me the music also?

  • Great idea. The mammoth car is one of the best Speed Racer episodes

  • wow thats hilarious, i dont know how u found that music

  • Great video!

Where did you find the music?

  • Dude I totally bummed, I wanted to see speed win the race and watch the mammoth car melt down to a pile of gold at the end of the show,

BTW speeds windshield was bulet proof, maybe you could be his brother racer X or with those chops of yours you could be Elvis racer!

  • Nice job

  • hey, get a chisel and get some gold off the mammoth car !! you could retire !!

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh

  • What's the name of the song? I've been looking for it for years!

  • My disc isn't labeled so I just assume it's the "theme to the Mammoth Car."

  • Hey, can you please e-mail me this song?

  • dude i'm smiling this brings back memories!!!

  • I'm getting such great comments on this baby. It was really just a postcatrd from the road to friends and family to let them know how my cross country drive was going. Haven't fixed the windshield yet but a new video is on the way.

  • The music...the music is here. I have searhed all over the internet for this and it's here under my nose. I still fondly remember it and i always cry a little when they melt it. I guess i'm a bit of a gear haed XD

  • It must have been over a decade, and I still remember that haunting music....what a great TV show.

  • This is so cool (and funny). I used to hum this when I was a little kid while playing SR with Hot Wheels. Great 7/4 tune. Nobuyoshi Koshibe (SR music guy) is killer, a progressive/contemporary composer - very Danny Elfman/Richard Band like (I sound so artsy-fartsy)! The Car Acrobatic Team montage is also very cool. The soundtrack for ALL the SR music is available in all is monoural beauty. I forked out $60 smackers for two cds from Japan. Worth every penny.Have you fixed that WINDSHIELD YET? :)

  • That windshield has the secret design for the new Mach 5 engine! ;-)

  • Ah, he let the mammoth car beat him. He should have at least, pulled up next to it.

The music sounded like Speed Racer was getting ready to start something. He should have used the Mach Five's turbo car jumper to leap frog ahead of the Mammoth Car.

Nevertheless, excellent video. And very enjoyable to watch. Five *s

  • lol, that was silly.

i would have done that too.

  • Dude....you nailed this one! I laughed loud and hard!

  • Thanks. I was driving from L.A. to Atlanta and my mind wandered a little...

  • @maltedfalcon - That would be easy to do in western Texas!

I found driving along I-80 in Iowa a similar experience in 2001 when I was driving from the Philly area to my best friend's house near Omaha, NE.

  • Man- I was trying to think of "mammoth car " forever.Sweet! Wasn't that a 2 part episode? SR was the Best show.... I get that song in my head too- always when boxed in by trucks...thats freakin great!

  • Yeah, Mammoth Car was a two parter, owned by the evil Cruncher Block. "..My car, my golden car!!"

  • You have no idea how hard I am laughing at this

  • That is so funny. I thought I was the only one in the world haunted by the mammoth car music.

  • Cool. It's an exclusive club. I'm about to do a follow-up with the Car Acrobatic Team theme.

  • I, too, am haunted by that music thanks to that episode of Speed Racer!

  • Nope hell I humm it all the time when I drive on the AutoBahn in Germany LOL

  • Greatest. Song. Ever.

Sorry, I've loved that song since I was a kid back in the 70's.

Oh, and funny vid! I always think of the Mammoth Car (and lake Icy Chill) whenever I see a big trailer...especially a tandem trailer!

  • I'm jealous! ;-)

That's coming from someone in the U.S., where the highest speed limit is 80 mph (about 130 km/h), which is in western Texas.

Here in Pennsylvania, the fastest you can legally do is 65 mph (105 km/h), but the traffic does west Texas speeds.

From what I've seen as a long-time driver, the fastest U.S. drivers are from:

    Virginia (left lane doing 85/135)

    Massachusetts (not far behind)

New Jersey (weaving in & out of lanes without signaling)

    Delaware (on Mass.' tail)

    Pennsylvania

  • That was hillarious :^D

And yes, where ~did~ you get the soundtrack?

  • A friend ordered it from CDJapan about ten years ago. Hope they're still in business. Every piece of music from the shows in two discs. Pure gold.

  • Where did you get the music?

  • LOL! Cool clip!

  • Unknown to Speed, his older brother Rex Racer....

  • I had a bobtail tractor on my tail today and all I could think of was this music!

Too bad I can't find The Mammoth Car episode of Speed Racer here on YouTube...

(I'm 43 and grew up on Speed Racer)

  • Far out. I turn 43 in 27 days. Gotta get your fill of the Mammoth Car, that golden car. Keep looking and good luck.

  • Happy birthday, Maltedfalcon!

    I'll be 44 in late January 2008.

    Bill near Philly

  • GET laid u sick fucko

  • what fuckin dickhead did this?

  • Sparky's making some adjustments so I can take on the Car Acrobatic Team. Pops looks a little tired, though...

  • Hey, the Miata is a pretty damned good substitute for the Mach 5, but I'm ready to redo this one anytime.

  • I guess you got word Speed Racer Movie will be released next year.

I am hyped and ready for it.

But the Mammoth car music was the best.

I want to try to put together a soundtrack to drive to.

Where did you get it from?

  • My friend ordered it direct from CD Japan. All the music from the show, priceless.

  • that is too cool! That music score has stuck with me and haunted me ever since I was a little kid! Is that music score available somewhere?

  • I'll try to find out where you can get that.

  • bwahahah

  • ROFLMAO!!!!

  • gotta help me with that one

  • Mammoth Car Music Rules...Good Show
