this thing is awsome I love mine there is knife for cutting blunts a bottle opener and roach clips , there is also a handy flat head skrew driver for scraping bowls , very handy, LOL jk-or am I?

I bought one of these to replace my aging Leatherman PST, thinking it would be more convenient and comfortable for everyday carry, and was a little disappointed. The Crucial is thicker than the PST, is negligibly shorter when folded, and weighs the same 5oz despite having way fewer tools. Too chunky and heavy for what it is. Anyone looking to buy one really ought to do a hands-on inspection at the shop before purchase.

I guess if youre a grade school student the carabiner is very atractive...... i think it´s a waste of space and a useless feature for most of us.........that item should be obtional and a bottle or can opener should not be the obtion............... other than that its a hot looking item...............

What about the Gerber Octane? I am looking for EDC more than anything else. What makes Leatherman so superior to Gerber?

I used to really like Gerber and they still have a few good quality knives but I have come to admire the quality of Leatherman when it comes to multitools and would much prefer my Leatherman Skeletool over this Gerber Crucial.

I agree... but the point of the Crucial is not the same as the Skeletool. The Gerber Crucial was made to be a bare-bones multi-tool with only the most frequently used components as features. Gerber also designed the Crucial to be no larger than a typical pocket knife.

So although it is not the most functional multi-tool on the market, it is one of the handiest!

The point of the Skeletool is minimalist as well. Blade, pliers/wire cutters, bit driver, carabiner/bottle opener.

But I do like this Crucial, gonna have to get one!!
