@Kaaru Indeed, that's the way Angus himself plays it. When I did the video I had always felt that was a bit of a stretch and assumed it was played on the E string.
@mastertheguitar Yeah, it is more difficult to play that way. I can't stretch, so I have to shift quickly between positions for the last few notes. The way you play it in this video is much more manageable.
its awesome how angus young is one of the only higher level guitarists who uses open chords in essentially every song, and makes it sound wicked kickass
@Redsox07rbeast well also you got malcom, who wrote all the songs and riffs. plus you have both of em playing at same time so it sounds like its more powerful
Thanks mate! I'm a novice guitarist who has got this one now! Working on my Velvet Revover! The best and easiest to follow online guitar lesson I've seen yet! Thanks again.
so so so so so so so so greeat this video earns 893127490134513513 stars ur the best teacher to live AND u have the greatest tone u really sound straight from the c.d keep uup the good work i seNd my respect from jerseyp:)
you are the VERY FIRST person to play the part after the three chords on the 7th fret instead of the 2nd fret, i have the tab book and that how it's written down
dude thank you so much, i have been looking for a good vid of this song but i don't know what d5power cord and stuff like that means so thanks for also explaining what frets and stuff like tab. thanks again ^^
Man, you are an excellent guitar player, and an excellent teacher ... i`ve learned a lot from your playing :) Very good job man:D Greetings from Romania :)
Yeah Legacy is a valve amp :). The Les Paul is a Gary Moore sig model. The neck humbucker is a stock Burstbucker which was orientated b/w. I swapped out the bridge pickup for another zebra pickup, a Seymour Duncan JB which is standard as w/b. And yes I love the w/b b/w look for two zebra pickups :).
AWESOME raw rock n roll tone..can i ask you what is in your guitar rig for this clip? I am guessing maybe that sweet soldano behind you? Definitly sound like a nice tube amp. My favorite parts are when you play open chords/power chords that ring out, the way your amp's voiced it makes this metallic tube sound, very nice...let me know how ya get that? like at 2:02 is just kick ass sounding!
I'd never thought I'd learn this...until now. Thanks buddy!

I've always played the last part of that riff pivoting on the 2nd fret A string while walking up 4, 5, 6, 7 on the E string.

Can you say me the settings on the legacy? its different than the trash tone that you use for the other songs... THNKS
boomxpassion 2 years ago
I assume you mean 'thrash' tone? ;)
Can't recall the settings exactly for this but I run the Legacy with high mids typically about 7 with high Treble and Presence also around 7 or 8.
HTH
