i've seen a lot of guitars + amps that are cheaper than a 360 with enough money left over to get you 6 - 12 months worth of lessons, but do what you want to, and don't let anyone tell you not to... unless it's the police O.O

well, in $aud, 360s are 500 - 600 dollars, and guitar hero is still 100, so let's say $650 to spend.

look on ebay. plenty of starter kits (guitar, amp, gig bag, strap, stand etc etc) there, for less than $200 aud. if you don't get one there, there's usually the same kind of thing at any guitar shop, for maximum 300 dollars. there's between $350 and $450 for lessons for a year, just go to a guitar shop and ask how much. anything above $450 for a year is overpriced, so don't go there.
