OMG! Thanks so much for puttingt this up! Jubilee has been one of my favourite films since I saw it 20 years ago! And to answer the post below, Adam ant is in an earlier part of the film (he's not the bald guy!!)
The song is actually by Suzi Pinns, it's called 'Rule Brittania' - don't know how you'd get hold of it now, other than an out of print copy of the Jubilee soundtrack
I wish this movie could be posted on here, I mean there is already Wittgenstein, Caravaggio, Edward II. i guess it got flagged. This was like one of Jarman's films that i would have given some of my guts to see!! ugh some of the people on here can be so silly
Total genius, and what a prophet Jarman was - bald guy is Simon Cowell 'bbc tuc itv abc atv MGMmmmmm KGBeeee C of E you name it i bought them all and rearranged the alphabet, without meeeee they don't exist! I miss Jarman too! He blew his contemporaries out of the water and there's been no-one to match him since this was released...
Haven't seen this in it's entirety since 93.Weren't Siouxsie And The Banshees,in their earliest incarnation, very briefly on a TV screen doing Love In A Void?
'Jubilee' is an unmissably awful film but kind of nasty fun...Jarman taking the piss on a low budget always made stuff worth watching if only out of amazement and curiousity where it was all going. He did do some great stuff though...just wish there was such energy around from some of the modern film makers who cannot understand you do not need millions to make memorable films.
I am trying to find out what music was used in the beginning of Jubilee. I thought it was from Swan Lake. I managed to find the soundtrack but it didn't have any of the classical music that was used. I would be so grateful if you could help.
Adam and the Ants, 'Deutscher Girls', Wayne County and the Electric Chairs, 'Paranoia Paradise',Chelsea, 'Right to Work', Maneaters, 'Nine to Five', Suzi pinns, 'Rule Britannia', Amilcar, 'Wargasm in Pornotopia',Brian Eno, 'Slow Water' and 'Dover Beach'

well its very ahead of its time then i thort it was new romantic/punk stuff ! (not the first time ive made an innocent uninformed comment and someones geeked out on me , i mean helpfully re-educated me). i hate the seventies !!
The film, called Jubilee, was timed to be alongside the Queen's silver jubilee in 1977. Punk started in the 70s. (The Clash, X-Ray Spex, The Damned, Siouxsie etc). I think it was the first film shot on video, I might be wrong. Anyway it is a very pretentious film, but I love it.
The Great Orlando- I can't remember his real name, but he was blind, that's why his eyes look slightly off. Friend of Derek Jarman I think, that's why he's in his films, but he should have made a lot more, he's a truly surreal character actor...
QUE VAINE ES ESA?!! SIn duda un espectáculo digno de rctv aca en Venezuela. OK, I dunno the movie, I think is deeply weird...I am miles away, can anybody explain??
Hahaha! I've seen some pretty weird crap, but wtf? I have no idea why this was listed under "related" after viewing an Arcade Fire song. This totally rocks.
Best film ever made i think! Such a relevant, meaningful and authentic piece of work
