I like it! The livery is a nice compromise for the airlines. It's not like in the Delta/Northwest merger where northwest's logo was completely eradicated. You still have a little bit of Continental airlines and some of United Airlines.
It should be in United Tulip. Not in Continental colors. At least we at Delta came up with something new with our merger with Northwest. Good luck with the merger. I'm glad I'm not there at CAL anymore. Great video though.
For the worlds largest airline, this livery choice is pathetic. It's totally hybrid, and both sides know it...it just all boils down to the politics that are involved with this deal. The globe was created in conjunction with the word "Continental" and the tulip was created in conjunction with the word "United". Nobody's "stuck in the 70's". A livery or color scheme update or rebranding is just that, updating the globally recognized symbol, not slapping a sticker over "Continental". The end.
Guys, come on. These airlines merged to make money in the suffering times of aviation. Would you rather have a good airline connecting all corners of the world with a bad livery (I'm not a fan of it) or two legacy airlines (UA and CO) go bankrupt because they spent all their money to have planes sit on the ground being painted in a new livery? Painting is expensive and time consuming. If I were the CEO of UA, I would rather have this wonderful 777 bird flying overseas making tons of cash than i
guys that livery just combined 2 of the greatest liveries in the american carriers and as a result came up with this horrible livery , i missed both continental and united liveries (when they were 2 separated liveries)
Good grief, people need to get a grip. It is just paint. I would rather have the new livery and a better airline (financially) so that the planes are safe, crews are competent, and that I can retain my million mile lifetime Premier Exec status. (Yes, selfish plug here :) )
So there is no Tulip anymore. I like the Globe better anyway. And I am a very loyal UA flyer and have been for 17 years.
It PAINS me to watch this video of a United Airlines 777 going in for repaint into the mega-airline-merger "new United Continental" paint scheme (aka Continental's CRAP globe scheme with the stolen more recognized airline name slapped on it). R.I.P. United Tulip logo: 1973-2010
ecxelent video congratulations.

Hate this livery so much. I had hoped that it would die in the merger to the amazing United livery and am saddened to see the poor livery win.

Always sad seeing a plane with a great livery being repainted with a boring, dull livery.

this new livery is such a disgrace... they should have created a whole new livery or kept the latest UNITED livery!

Love the new color scheme for United! Looks incredible! Continental's livery was the best there is and now it will be the new United's livery!!

united had one of most beautiful liveries and lost it all because of those damn Continental employees.

@espeeboy I can relate. It was bittersweet watching Delta repaint my Northwest 747s.

@espeeboy I couldnt agree more. The new(old) paint scheme for UAL is tired and boring. ugh! gone forever.
