I kinda understand where you are coming from. When I was in high school my mom made me see a doc because she thought I had problems and they diagnosed me with bipolar and put me on meds for it. To this day I still have to take them because I have grown use to them and when I look back on it I think it was just being a teenager. Then again their are people who really do have a serious condition.

My mom has serious bi-polar disorder.. People get misdiagnosed with it ALL THE TIME. Half of you that think you have it don't. My mom's typically depressed and about twice a year she becomes manic. Her mania includes psychosis. It's actually kind of scary.

It's much more serious than unprovoked mood swings.

Nah, that's not really ignorant if you truly don't know what it is.

Bipolar is a serious disorder where you switch back and forth from manic (super happy, similar to being high, according to my doctor) and depression (being sad, etc). There's a lot more to it than that, I'm just trying to fit it all in the word count.
