Dit waren toch wel hele mooie jaren waar het nog genieten was in de discotheken . Was de tijd van de Diligence in Heerlen waren de mooiste jaren van mijn leven .
This was a dynamic jam back in 76. No one cared back then how she danced, what her background was, or whatever negative comments some of you mutts can drum up. This was the disco era, and you can be whatever you wanted. It was the talent of the singer, the arrangement of music, and the final product being produced that we now revist and travel through time to remeber where we were in our lives, and who touched us through this song.
Who cares about how she dances and looks, I love this song and no I wasn't around in 1976 (born in 1980). I'm pretty sure those who were living in 1976 didn't give a fuck about her dancing or looks or she did porn, just enjoyed the song and danced to it.
Anyone that was there in 1976 and into the music didn't give a rat's ass if Andrea was a Porn Queen or not....this song was a smash dance hit and she nailed it!
Here we go again~Negative comments about Andrea True~The way she looks, the way she dances, the way she dresses...That she looks like so and so...That she dances like so and so... All comments made by people who don't even remember the disco era let alone recognize her contributions to disco music.
@mrob75 Sorry but she dances like a rabies infested feline. She can sing well though! And no, I wasn't alive during the 70's. If you were alive and can remember it, you're kind of old =/
@mrob75 Agree! She had a great talent as far as I can see & remember, and I am from the Disco Era! Her life was a very sad one,but I like to remember her at this point when she was ridng high and healthy RIP Andrea. We lost her in Nov. 2011.Please hold all negative remarks out of respect. ♥Peace♥ We all danced like this or John Travolta back then! ♥ But guess what ,our jeans were not hanging off our butts! LOL! Ladies wore dresses and looked beautiful when going out! ♥ how do you like your luv ♥
It's all coming back to me now. 68 camaro, sweetie in bell bottoms and a halter top, eight track tape player under the dash, gas signs that read 55 cents a gallon, and great music like this. I'd go back wouldn't you?
R.I.P. SWEETY.ANOTHER TRUE BEAUTY WHO LEFT US TOO SOON ANOTHER WONDERFUL SONG THAT REMINDS ME WHEN I WAS A LITTLE PEST LOL DISCO WAS ONE OF THE BEST ERAS AROUND, ONLY WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN OLDER THEN TO ENJOY, BUT STILL WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE GREAT TIMES AND THE LOVED ONES WHO ARE NO LONGER WITH US, R.I.P
The seventies were so liberal and bi, I heard this around '74 on pop radio and her porn activities were not a prob. I thought it was a really catchy tune and had no problem with it and became a porn actress myself a couple of years later or so. Disco was fun.
good song throughout. the music at 2:20 is especially awesome. she should have used it for more than ten seconds, because its awesome. Len was smart to sample it for that steal my sunshine song.
Classic disco...I remember it from the 70s but never knew the title of this song til today!! Also didn't know the artist had died; sorry to hear that.
por* actress Andrea True did a modeling gig in Jamaica in 1975, but learned after she'd gotten paid that she wasn't allowed to take her money out of the country. To get around this restriction, she hooked up with producer Gregg Diamond, with whom she wrote and recorded the slinky disco single "More More More" in one Kingston's studios. Diamond's skill as a multi-instrumentalist comes into particular play on a perfectly placed mariachi-style trumpet solo.

@MrGRBalls Are you kidding? The Bananarama version speeds up the chorus trying to increase the " bouncy danceability" of the song which only decreases the sultry sexuality of the original. The substitution of the hackneyed early 90's electronic keyboards pollutes the disco essence which is the heart of the song. The only thing Bananarama achieves in their remake (as the male dancers in their video clearly attest to) is making a gay club version of the song.
@livingstillbirth , I agree, as big of a Bananarama fan as I am, nothing beats the original here. And everything you said about the Bananarama version is right on key.
@livingstillbirth , I don't think Bananarama having male dancers in their video makes their videos look any gayer than Sarah and Karen already are. They'd look gayer with female dancers.
I was only 12 when this was a HUGE hit in 1976. I didn't know it's about sex LMAO!!! I thought it was about having "more things in life" LOL Ignorance really is BLISS, ain't it? ;)
This song was so good you could sample a 3 second snipit of it, loop it, and create a hit of your own. Just ask those no-talents, Len, who would still be working at McDonalds if this song were never created for them to rip off.
Such a great dance cut. I can only imagine how absolutely amazing and fun the discos were in 1976, compared to now. Back then, it was all about hedonism, drugs, hot sex and great dance music. Add to that the absence of AIDS, cheap drugs and texting,, it was a wild and wonderful time.
you have to remember you NEVER heard this song from about 1977 to 1992/1993 when retro disco and retro new wave started being heard on the radio again mostly on weekends.
like so many other good songs it was black listed from radio playlists for far too long in order to let the junk be heard.
it still is not heard very often.
she had to be very driven but probably kept hitting roadblocks and gave up when her music could not get airplay.
Young people don't realize that many girls born in the 40s and 50s didn't have the educational opportunities like today. This woman was born in 1943, and like many in her generation was expected to get married and have kids. Maybe she didn't have good family support either. Whether she was a porn star, singer or secretary, she had balls and was a survivor.
No other song for me evokes memories of the late seventies than this. Smooth, blissfilly mindless, mellow, upbeat. And damn, I didn't even know how sexy Andrea True was. Those hot pants dress outfits were great, and the girl can move! Whore and porn are in the eyes of the beholder. This is good clean sensuality.
This music was what it was in the day. This is what we listened to. We danced to it, made love to it, and had fun to it. So, just relax and have fun with it. RIP Andra.
she wasn't born into money like carly simon and had to struggle to get record deals and had to record this song when she was very tired in a country sh could not leave but she made more people happy with this song than some artists have who made 50 junk songs who had it easy from the start.
this was the best disco-pop song ever. one of the best songs ever.
DON'T UNDERSTAND I SAW & LISTEND TO A SONG NAMED EMOTIONS BY SAMMANTHA SANG & NOW I SEE THE SAME PERSON ANDREA TRUE A DIFFERENT NAME BUT THE SAME PERSON WHO SUNG EMOTIONS NAMED SAMANTHA SANG CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THIS DID SHE HAVE TWO DIFFERENT NAMES??
@Ratt2004 Amen, I agree with you 100%. To me her song is pure disco, sexy, sensual, erotic, exotic and pleasurable. I haven't seen her XXX rated movies, yet and I, being a fan of good erotic, raunchy porno (not sick, twisted, bad, boring, amateurish, comical, degrading, perverted porno) She is the essence and embodiment of what disco means to me. God I love this song with all my soul, I wish she had lived a lot longer and perform her song at New York Time Square every New Year Day.
She didn't want to be remembered for the mistake in career she made early on. She wanted to be known as a singer performer. Let's at least honor her wish.
Oh crap, I was right about her hooker looks? lmfao! I just read a few comments and someone said she was a porn star turned singer? Oh well, she still made a damn good disco song!
I LOVE this song, but evry time I watch I feel like a need to shower! LOL She's got that dirty, 1970's hooker look about her, haha. She can sing though, thats for damn sure...hooker looks or not, its one of my faves! Her goofy ass dance moves are classic! hahaha
This is both the best and worse that disco had to offer. NO she was NOT Disco's biggest loss. Unfortunately she just wasn't THAT important and couldn't sing. Can McCoy was Disco's biggest loss
My brother told me that the percussionist(s) playing on this track came from Colombia. Anybody know the back story on that? Also, what happened to Andrea True?
WOW!!! what a wonderful time back then.I was a rocker but boy did i love this song.Hell i loved the whole disco era.Nothing but fun.She will truly be missed.
What can you say other than goodbye Andrea and you certainly were/are "remembered for bringing joy to (so many) people through your music" as you said you wished to be.
You brought joy to me from the first time I heard this song around May 1976 before a family vacation to Florida.
I never stopped loving this song.
This has to be the biggest loss in music along with Nicolette Larson who died late 1997. This is definitley the biggest loss from the disco era.
As I was scrolling back though comments on this video it amazes me how viewers who don't remember these disco days are so quick to make negative comments about Andrea True and/or how she dressed or looked. This song happens to have come from one of the greatest disco albums ever produced by the late great Gregg Diamond. In its heyday, this album (and especially this song) were the absolute bomb and sold millions and millions of records! This song will remain my all time favorite disco record!
Maybe now that Andrea is no longer with us her 1980 album War Machine will be released. It should have been released by 1995 when all new music was crap and retro records really took off. She will not even get to the royalties for the current commerical using this song.
@mrob75 How true. Youngsters today are critical of the way people dressed, even if the styles were from 35 years ago. Sad they can't make that realization.
@mrob75 Amen. This is one of the greatest disco songs of all time. And think about his Beyonce, Christine A and Modonna, Katy perry , etc all have copied hot pants and boots to perform in.Where do you think they got that idea, from the 70's and Disco. Disco was and it great.
@Dicko0824 I would bet the 49 dislikes come from the extremely religious crowd. AKA Muslims, Mormons, Evangelicals, Catholics and such....I was in kindergarten at the time and when it played on the radio I sure danced to it. Later in life I realized it was also hot :D
Best Disco song ever!

It will sound crazy to the younger crowd but I'm glad I grew up with this stuff (cheese and all )
uforagain 1 month ago
@uforagain I hate when anything good is referred to as "cheese/cheesy". This might not be the best of the 70s but it's better than anything today.

@sweiland75 Totally agree. Today's stuff is crap compared to this

Her goofy ass dance moves are classic! hahaha

@UndieWhere That's because she was a porn actress.

This song was the perfect theme to her job at the time...porn star, Andrea True....get the cameras rollin'. R.I.P., doll.

This is both the best and worse that disco had to offer. NO she was NOT Disco's biggest loss. Unfortunately she just wasn't THAT important and couldn't sing. Can McCoy was Disco's biggest loss
nukeystik 1 month ago
@nukeystik I agree with you that VAn McCoy was great, as well. Thanks for bringing him back to mind.

My brother told me that the percussionist(s) playing on this track came from Colombia. Anybody know the back story on that? Also, what happened to Andrea True?

This song will remain my all time favorite disco record!
mrob75 1 month ago 38
@mrob75
Maybe now that Andrea is no longer with us her 1980 album War Machine will be released. It should have been released by 1995 when all new music was crap and retro records really took off. She will not even get to the royalties for the current commerical using this song.
The096757 1 month ago
@mrob75...I share the same opinion like you...!
mayangod1isback 1 month ago
@mrob75 How true. Youngsters today are critical of the way people dressed, even if the styles were from 35 years ago. Sad they can't make that realization.
imanacer 1 month ago
@mrob75 Amen. This is one of the greatest disco songs of all time. And think about his Beyonce, Christine A and Modonna, Katy perry , etc all have copied hot pants and boots to perform in.Where do you think they got that idea, from the 70's and Disco. Disco was and it great.

Dicko0824 1 month ago 9
@Dicko0824 I would bet the 49 dislikes come from the extremely religious crowd. AKA Muslims, Mormons, Evangelicals, Catholics and such....I was in kindergarten at the time and when it played on the radio I sure danced to it. Later in life I realized it was also hot :D

Many of the pioneers of the disco era may be gone, but the music will live on 4ever! Disco will never die

LEN "Steal My Sunshine" used this beat and the middle part of the song that sounds like a tennis ball being hit in an echo chamber".
