  • italians and he french... never did trust the catholics.

  • this video mademe mourned --

  • I'm sorry to see things have not changed, the deep bad blood between the Turkish and Greek people. I was stationed in Izmir as a US soldier assigned to NATO. Back then our headquarters was at Sirinyer. Even then in 1962 it was necessary to have the American Barracks placed between the Turk and Greek barracks. The Isle of Creek was a big cause for troubles then. You both live in such a beautiful and awsome historical land. I only wish you peace and love in your hjeart. This comes from a TEXAN,

  • 1:11 That's the French cruiser Edgar Quinet

  • the turkomogol invaders burned our greek city smyrna and killed thausands of woman and children

    death to all turks!!!!

    all turkey is greek!!!!!

  • Thats the shame of Greeks who betrayed their own country and burned their own homeland....Shame on you

  • ΧΑΙΡΕ ΙΟΝΙΑ ΓΗ,ΕΣΣΕΤΑΙ Η ΜΑΡ

  • Can't believe a man like Atatürk could do something like that, but it happened, as it did in Nero's Rome. Two thousand yearts latter, the world discovered Nero didn't burn Rome. Perhaps we'll never discover what happened in Smyrna. Anyway, it was one of the greatest disasters of mankind. Rockybrazil1

  • @rockybrazil1 Are you fucking kidding me?HELL we know what happened..My greatgrandmother was from Σμύρνη(Smyrna). The turks were slave to Greeks, they were living peacefully but they were slaves.(looking after the houses, the kids, doing hard work for Greeks etc) that was upset that's why they wanted to get rid off them all (Armenians too) They burned the city burned their people..Why?I am against war against violence and all but for fucks sake they shouldn't have done barbaric crimes like that

  • Kemal was a disgusting totalitarian and a mass murderer, who even killed his own people who did the dirt work for him. Burning a city perfectly suits to the character like this. I split on the house of that dog each time I pass from it in Thessalonici.

  • eier von huhn oder huhn von eier..??

  • what has happened in the past;directly effected the innocent people of Anatolia/AsiaMinor.greeks,armenians,kurds,assurians,alevi/bektasis...and still going on....we have to get rid of our prejudices and remember these poor people for sure,by uniting together with internationalism, not with RACISM!

I am proud to say that I am Anotolian but I do not regret the blood of all these poor people and yes I am a minority in this country.and you can never find a better way using your anger in this way..

  • full turks burned their city... stil now 2 million chstians live in smirna.. teh next step in the near futyer is the occupation of smyrna from hellenic russian forces

  • The bigest crime against us. But it is not a crime, it is an action of our eternal enemy, the turks. A whole world was destroyed then. We will be back and the earth will tremble. Hail Ionia!Hail eternal motherland!

Χαιρε Ιονία, θα ξανάρθουμε και η γη θα τρέμει.

  • @Aerospartan Get off you waste man... Its a wrong approach to situation.. What happened there wasn't nice we all know this.. We all brothers.. Kurds ,Turks or Greek we all coming from same lands.. And the people who thinks like you caused all this crab...

So peace man ...and take it easy... !!!

  • @besiktassiyah Well...the fact that we live in nearby lands doesn't mean anything. Our strategic interest were, are and always will be colliding. The regime that did that still exists in Turkey. Good for you. You comitted huge genocides against Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians, far worse than the Lews extermination from Germans in 1940s'. So there is no turning back from that point on.

Take it easy? You genocided my family mister. I don't think I could and/or should take that easy!

  • @Aerospartan It does mean a lot... I did have a look at my roots.. I am Kurdish Turkish bit of Armenian maybe .. complicated.. So I say I am Anatolian... Greeks are my brother too.. Genocide or not .. !! its past.. And it doesn't change the fact that we are coming from similar culture.. u know we have a lot common u can't deny that.. if u see my face highly possibility we look alike.. I share your pain and anger.. but Racism No m8....FUCK NO..... !!!

  • @Aerospartan You Greeks genocided my grandmother's two sisters with their children and family. I am againts regime in Turkey as well, i am not racist. But if the people are still racist in Turkey you guys played an important role for this. Kemalist despots used your genocides when they justified their fascism. I am very sorry for Armenians and Kurds but you Greeks were not innocent at all for all of those tragedies

  • Actually, only the Kurds and the Greeks came from those lands, the Turks, I mean real turks, not sthe assimilated people, were invaders and intruders. you seem to forget that, maybe because you are never avle to have an objective view on your history.

  • @besiktassiyah Greeks and Turks are coming from same lands?! Oh,Greece people is here for over 4000 have you ever heard of Achilles? Alexander the Great? where were you then you came to these lands thousands years later!

  • @lotsofinterests1 yep I know a lot about Alexander and Achilles born in Anatolia.. I told u I am Anatolian and Kurdish. Kurdish people always been in Anatolia...that is why Kurdish language still alive. Kurds been under Greek Empire -Ottoman Empire- Persian Empire... But we were always been here in Anatolia...We didn't come from anywhere.. Been here still here...that was same thousands years ago.. we were here mate..

  • @besiktassiyah You are right about Kurdish people, but i didnt mention them i said Turks :D

  • @lotsofinterests1 Turks are came to Anatolia 1071 AD from Asia... But mixed with all other Anatolian ( Armenian, Kurds, Greeks etc. ) that is why they don't look Asian anymore... So they are Anatolian too. but they are just not aware of it... ;)

  • @besiktassiyah hell no thats not true! Look at Greece-Serbia relations type in wikipedia and you will see we are brothers WE!Always fought on the same side always helped eachother in every problem we had! We fought against you,Ottoman empire in Balkan wars, they helped us on Corfu, they send a lot of fighters when we were fighting in Bosnia and they protested when NATO bombed us,we helped them when they had problems with forest fires,we even were in the same empire of Uros IV Dusan!Thats brothers

  • @lotsofinterests1 So are u saying I am not your brother.. What am I then your enemy.. ¿

  • @besiktassiyah Right now you are not my enemy but your definetly not my brother .

  • @besiktassiyah Not to mention we owerthrew the Prince Pavle because he wanted to let Hitler go thru our land and attack Greece thats why Hitler attacked us!And you were on his side!

  • If you are all interested there is a book called, "Paradise Lost" by Giles Milton it tells a more detailed account of the failure of all the nations. About the supplying of weapons to the Turkish Nationalists by the French and Italians. About how the Italians started the hostilities with the Greek landing and much more. It all comes down to the rich verses the poor. People need to get educated to see who the real enemies are. And yes I was brought up both an American Republican and Irish Repub..

  • Yes Kubruk , But Smyrna was burnt under Mustafa Kemals orders. The city surrendered peacefully and yet the Turks still raped the young girls and cut their breasts off afterwards. Kemal who was later to be called Ataturk sent a message to the League of Nations saying that he could not guarantee the safety of the city or the people. He then gave the orders to burn it to the ground with the exception of the Turkish quarter. He did it because he felt that he was insulted by a Greek waiter in 1905.

  • @georgebushsucksdick1 do you have prove that smyrna was burnt by kemals orders? the turks says that fire begon in armenian quarter, for destroying weapens and other proves. so i dont know who burns smyrna? the greeks was gone i think? so why burnt they the city??do you know more

  • The longest record that I have ever seen about the Great Fire of Smyrna, thanks for sharing. But the record between 2:29 and 2:40 is about the landing of the Greek troups 1919 in Smyrna, not about the Great Fire of 1922

  • The longest record that I have ever seen about the Great Fire of Smyrna, thanks for sharing

  • many cities got burnt in history... half or germany, 70% of britain including london etc etc....
